Chapter 629 Why Didn't You Say So Earlier

"We all sat together eating strawberries, but each harbored their own thoughts."

Liu Yifeng worried that Xia Qianqian would suspect Tongtong of having a relationship with Su Wanru.

Tongtong feared that Aunt Xia would misunderstand Papa's and his eldest aunt's relationship.

Su Wanru, on the other hand, was contemplating Xia Qianqian and Liu Yifeng's relationship and what it would be like if she became Tongtong's stepmother.

Xia Qianqian was wondering about Su Wanru and Liu Yifeng's relationship; were they together?

"Yifeng, are you and Mother Tian going to attend Song Yicheng's funeral tomorrow?" Xia Qianqian finally changed the subject.

Liu Yifeng nodded, "Yes, I've already inquired about the location of Song Yicheng's ashes. We'll drive over tomorrow morning."

"When are you planning to go back then?" Xia Qianqian asked again.

"If not tomorrow, then the day after. We'll go back then, and you can come with me to shoot the advertisement," Liu Yifeng said.

Su Wanru looked confused, "What advertisement?"

Liu Yifeng explained, "It's for my vegetables. We'll broadcast it on various channels to increase exposure!"

"That's going to cost quite a bit of money, with the advertising agency, endorsement fees, and broadcast costs!"

"There's still a good amount of money in the company account; it should be sufficient. I believe that if I want my vegetables to be a high-end brand, I must invest in advertising to let more people know about them. The more people know, the more will naturally buy, and the brand will rise." Liu Yifeng replied.

After hearing Liu Yifeng's idea, Su Wanru nodded in agreement, "Yes, before our company's fruits are launched, we also invested in various advertisements to build the brand. Otherwise, no matter how well they sell, they'd be like unbranded products!" However, she was more curious about how much endorsement fee Liu Yifeng offered Xia Qianqian, but she felt it was too sensitive a topic to ask with Xia Qianqian present.

The group chatted until half-past eleven at night, and Su Wanru reluctantly left Liu Yifeng's room.

As soon as she left, Xia Qianqian eagerly asked, "Yifeng, why did Miss Su suddenly buy such an expensive gift for Tongtong? Have you two confirmed some kind of relationship?"

Liu Yifeng, thinking she was referring to Tongtong and Su Wanru's relationship, nodded repeatedly, "There's no relationship. She just thinks Tongtong is a good child and likes him purely, which is why she bought him such an expensive gift." Tongtong's matter, for now, could not be revealed to anyone except his father.

Xia Qianqian didn't entirely believe Liu Yifeng's explanation but didn't press further.

"It's getting late, so I'll head back to my room now. You two father and son should go to bed early and get enough rest. Oh, and is Tongtong going to the funeral tomorrow?" Xia Qianqian suddenly remembered something.

Before Liu Yifeng could speak, Tongtong shook his head, "I'm not going. I'll stay in the hotel." The reason he didn't want to attend the funeral was that he felt since the person was gone, these external ceremonies were just for show. True longing and sadness were hidden in one's heart, and attending wouldn't serve much purpose, only add to the sorrow. After all, he had already predicted Song Yicheng's fate. Since he couldn't reveal heavenly secrets, he couldn't save Song Yicheng. He felt somewhat guilty towards Song Yicheng and couldn't face the deceased Song Yicheng, which would feel hypocritical.

"If you're not going, then I'll stay to take care of you and wait for your Papa to return before we head back to Haicheng, okay?" Xia Qianqian said with a smile.

Hearing her offer to look after Tongtong again, Liu Yifeng felt a bit uneasy, "Qianqian, Tongtong will be fine alone in the room. If you're busy, you don't need to look after him. I'll be back as soon as I'm done, and it won't take too long!"

Xia Qianqian dismissed his concern, "It's fine. I'd just be staying in my own room anyway. It's nice to have company with Tongtong!" Without giving Liu Yifeng a chance to refuse, she left the room.

Liu Yifeng watched Tongtong playing with a golden object and suddenly remembered something, "Tongtong, you accepted Aunt Su so quickly. Did you predict early on that she's your actual eldest aunt?"

Tongtong looked up at Papa and honestly nodded, "Yes, Papa. I knew her identity from the first time I saw Aunt Su."

"You knew so early, why didn't you say anything? Was that also a matter of heavenly secrets not to be revealed?" Liu Yifeng wasn't surprised by Tongtong's answer. In his eyes, Tongtong was already an omniscient being. He was just surprised that Tongtong could keep it to himself for so long, almost half a year, without uttering a word. If Su Wanru hadn't found one of her sisters through her intuition, Tongtong probably wouldn't have revealed this matter.

Tongtong never lied to Liu Yifeng, "Papa, everything in the world has its laws. If I had spoken prematurely, it would have affected the development of many events, so I could only wait for you to discover it yourselves."

"So, you also knew Aunt Su would discover your mother's identity, right?"

"Mm-hmm, I knew it long ago. Especially these past two days with your frequent contact, I knew what you two were up to!"

"Son, does that mean I have no privacy in front of you?" Liu Yifeng suddenly felt a bit frightened. If he were to do anything illicit with a woman in the future, wouldn't Tongtong know? How embarrassing would that be?

Tongtong giggled upon hearing this, "Papa, do you really think I'm an immortal? I'm not truly omniscient. I can only predict the development of certain events. Things like what you ate today, whether you pooped, or what you said, I can't predict those!"

Hearing this, Liu Yifeng was instantly relieved, "That's good. I thought nothing could be hidden from you!"

The father and son didn't go to bed until midnight. They woke up at eight in the morning. Liu Yifeng, remembering he had to attend Song Yicheng's funeral today, immediately got out of bed without lingering.

Tongtong also woke up and looked at his Papa, who was putting on his pants, rubbing his eyes, "Papa, are you going out?"

"Yes, Song Yicheng's funeral is today. Papa, Mother Tian, and Father Zhou are going together," Liu Yifeng nodded.

"Okay, Papa, go early and come back soon!" Tongtong remained in bed, not getting up.

Liu Yifeng then looked at him, "Tongtong, aren't you going?"

"I'm not going. I don't like those scenes of parting. Papa, please light an incense stick for Song Gege for me!"

"Alright, then you stay in the hotel. Aunt Xia will come later, and you can have breakfast together!" Liu Yifeng instructed.

As soon as he finished washing up, Mother Tian's call came through, "Papa Liu, are you up?"

"I've finished washing up and am heading out now. How about you, Mother Tian?" Liu Yifeng answered while putting on his shoes.

"Father Zhou and I are ready too. We'll wait for you at the hotel entrance!" Mother Tian said.
