Chapter 53 Shall I let you touch it

Twenty minutes later, two bowls of steaming noodles were ready.

Lu Yanbei carried one bowl to Su He's room and woke her up. "Eat something before you sleep."

Su He, half-asleep, waved him away. "Don't bother me, I want to sleep."

Lu Yanbei curved his lips.

After so many years, her morning temper was still as fierce.

However, he still insisted on pulling her out of bed. "Drinking some hot soup will make your stomach feel much better."

Su He grumbled twice and resignedly opened her eyes.

Lu Yanbei before her wore a dark gray loungewear set, his collar half-unbuttoned, revealing his delicate collarbone and a section of his fair chest, quite alluring. His eyes were narrow and slightly upturned, commonly known as peach blossom eyes. Even without any expression, they were incredibly captivating, drawing one's gaze.

Su He clutched her chest, feeling her heart race inexplicably.

Hoo hoo hoo, indeed, beauty is a dangerous thing!

"You, you put it on the table. I'll come out and eat later." Su He shifted her gaze, not daring to look at him again.

Lu Yanbei said "Okay," picked up the bowl, and went to the dining room.

Su He splashed some water on her face in the bathroom, forcing herself to calm down. When she sat back down at the dining table, Lu Yanbei had already eaten more than half of his noodles.

It smelled so good!

Su He couldn't help but drool just by smelling it.

"I didn't expect you could cook," Su He said, giving him a thumbs-up after a few bites.

Lu Yanbei looked up at her. "When I studied abroad, it was a necessary skill."

"So, which university did you graduate from?" Su He asked casually.

Lu Yanbei named a university.

"Wow, an Ivy League school," Su He immediately felt a surge of respect.

Lu Yanbei's curved lips gradually relaxed.

She really remembered nothing!

"I'm full," Lu Yanbei said, fearing he might reveal his emotions, and got up with his bowl and chopsticks to leave.

Su He, with food in her mouth, couldn't speak. But as sensitive as she was, how could she not notice his low mood? She replayed what she had just said in her mind, but she didn't seem to have said anything wrong. Why was he angry?

Su He slurped her noodles, thinking to herself: What a strange person!

Rich people are indeed difficult to please!

After finishing the bowl of noodles, her stomach felt warm, and her stomach ache was indeed less severe. Su He wiped her mouth contentedly and went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

Looking at the spotless stove, Su He couldn't help but sigh again, Mr. Lu really had a潔癖 (jié pǐ - obsession with cleanliness), unable to tolerate any dirt or mess.

Look at how clean this kitchen is, cleaner than a professional cleaner!

After eating and drinking her fill, Su He felt much more energetic.

"Considering you cooked noodles for me, I'll reluctantly reciprocate a little." Su He thought he might have to work overtime tonight, so she took out the newly arrived coffee beans and started grinding them.

A moment later, the kitchen was filled with the aroma of coffee.

"This freshly ground coffee is something else!" Su He sniffed, deeply satisfied.

Unexpectedly, Lu Yanbei was not in the study.

Su He thought for a moment and took the coffee to his room.

"Knock..." Out of politeness, she knocked on the door first. Seeing no response, she quietly pushed the door open. "Mr. Lu, your coffee..."

Strangely, his figure was nowhere to be seen in the bedroom either.

Just as Su He was wondering where he had gone, she heard the sound of the bathroom door in the inner room opening.

Su He looked in the direction of the sound, and their eyes met, plunging her into an awkward silence.

Lu Yanbei was holding up his pants with one hand, clearly having gone to the restroom.

Su He awkwardly turned away, wishing she could disappear immediately.

Lu Yanbei's movements stiffened for a moment, then quickly returned to normal. "The coffee is on the desk in the study. I'll drink it later."

"Oh..." Su He, granted a temporary reprieve, bolted.

Lu Yanbei rubbed his temples and followed her with his steps.

Su He almost ran away after putting down the coffee, not wanting to run into Lu Yanbei at all.

Unfortunately, fate was not on her side.

As soon as she stepped out of the study, she bumped right into Lu Yanbei.

"Why are you always so reckless?" Lu Yanbei habitually put his arm around her waist, steadying her.

If there had been a hole in the ground, Su He would have dived into it. "Ahem, you should rest early. Don't work too late."

After saying that, she tried to slip away.

Lu Yanbei held her wrist, but had no intention of letting go. "Shall we talk?"

"Ah?" Su He looked up in surprise.

They had nothing to talk about, right?

Lu Yanbei, without waiting for her answer, directly led her to the living room, holding her hand.

Su He, with his warm hand holding hers, involuntarily looked at his handsome hand.

Lu Yanbei seemed to sense her gaze, and a beautiful curve formed on his lips. "Do you like my hands?"

Su He hummed. "I'm a severe hand fetishist..."

"Then, let you touch them." Lu Yanbei generously extended his hand to her.

"C-can I?" Su He was flattered.

Lu Yanbei didn't speak, but his actions conveyed his attitude.

His hands were indeed beautiful. The joints were distinct, without an ounce of excess flesh, his fingers long and clean, and the proportions to his palms were just right. Most importantly, they were very white, so white that there wasn't a single flaw, like a piece of exquisite porcelain, making it impossible to look away.

Su He looked at him, then tentatively reached out to hold his hand, her movements as cautious as if she were holding some priceless antique.

She swallowed, her palms sweating from nervousness.

Seeing her captivated expression, Lu Yanbei felt a great sense of satisfaction.

Even if she couldn't remember him, some habits remained. When they first met, Su He was particularly fascinated by his hands, and holding hands could make her happy for a long time.

While Lu Yanbei was lost in thought, Su He had already let go of his hand.

The benefactor was generous, but she couldn't be without discretion. As the saying goes, familiarity breeds contempt, but also, the more you receive, the more indebted you feel. She wanted to leave a good impression on him first, so that it might be easier to play with his hands again in the future?

Su He thought happily.

Lu Yanbei caught a glimpse of her smug little expression, and his lips curved upward unconsciously. "I'm going abroad in a couple of days. Is there anything you want?"

Su He scratched her head. "I don't think I want anything."

"Okay, then I'll just buy something I think you'll like." Lu Yanbei nodded, understanding.

"No, no need." Su He quickly waved her hands. "I really don't lack anything. You've already given me so many things..."

Su He felt undeserving.

Their relationship was merely that of a benefactor and a debtor. As the saying goes, one feels beholden when they receive favors. She was afraid that the more she owed him, the harder it would be to leave in the future.

Lu Yanbei clenched his dry fingers and remained silent.

In fact, he had made up his mind and wouldn't easily change it.

He was merely informing her, not seeking her opinion.

However, Su He took his silence as an affirmation. "Which country are you going to? I can help you check the weather and pack your luggage in advance."

Lu Yanbei rolled his tongue in his mouth and uttered a place name. "Princeton."
