It took an hour for the room to become clean and tidy.
After finishing their chores, the siblings slumped onto the sofa.
"I really don't know what kind of girl will be able to handle you in the future!" Su He wiped the sweat from her brow and teased him.
"I haven't thought about dating," Su Lin replied honestly.
"That's because you haven't met someone you like yet!" Su He chuckled. "When you do, you'll be so eager to bring them home!"
Su Lin sneered. "You think I'm like you?"
"What about me?" Su He glared at him, displeased.
"Nothing," Su Lin said, his tongue sweeping across his cheek as he swallowed his words.
"Here, eat!" After teasing him for a while, Su He considerately brought over bowls and chopsticks from the kitchen.
Su Lin glanced at the food in the insulated container. "It won't give me diarrhea, will it?"
Su He raised her hand, looking like she was about to hit him. "Are you asking for a beating, you brat? You should feel honored to be able to eat my cooking!"
She wouldn't be cooking every day!
Some people would give anything to eat her food!
He truly didn't know how fortunate he was!
"I was just joking, why are you taking it seriously!" Su Lin shot back.
The siblings were used to their loving bickering, so they didn't take it to heart.
After Su Lin finished eating, Su He asked, "Are you really not going to sign with my company? Do you think it's too small to accommodate a 'great Buddha' like you?"
"Or are you scared because of what happened last time?"
Su Lin was not good at lying, and he certainly wouldn't lie to Su He. "I'm tired of that industry and just want to focus on making music."
"In terms of music production, I can complete more than half of it myself. Moreover, I have a professional team I work with, so I don't need to find someone to guide me."
"As for song releases, they are mostly online purchases. For promotion, I have my social media accounts, which are quite convenient."
"Who will negotiate advertisements and other collaborations for you?" Su He asked.
"I don't take on advertisements, and commercial performances depend on the platform," Su Lin admitted.
"Amazing!" Su He couldn't help but clap her hands.
As expected of a top star, he spoke with such confidence.
However, Su He genuinely worried that he might starve. After all, the current music market was sluggish, making it difficult to achieve success. Even with fan support, without a stage to perform on, he would eventually be forgotten. Therefore, appearing in public at appropriate times to stay remembered was crucial.
"I admire your courage and boldness! But a company cannot run on your meager savings alone, can it? How long does it take you to write a song, and how much revenue can you generate? Can this money support you and your staff?"
"Also, your fans like you and your music, but they want to see you more. If you don't do commercials or attend events, their enthusiasm will wane, and it won't be a sustainable plan in the long run."
Su Lin fell silent after listening to her.
These were the same things Xu Jing had told him before. But he had been confident because of the substantial signing fee, music copyright royalties, and performance commissions, so he wasn't worried about running out of money.
Now, his status was different; he was both a singer and a boss, and many issues needed to be addressed.
"Establishing your own studio isn't that simple," Su He patiently advised. "I'm not trying to discourage you; I just want to offer some suggestions. If you're willing to listen, think about them carefully. Or, if you need investment, you can come to me!"
Su Lin, for the first time, seriously considered these issues and nodded slowly. "I will think about it carefully."
"Yes, and about that other matter, don't overthink it," Su He said, stroking his head in reassurance. "The heat has died down, and I believe no one will bother me again."
Su Lin awkwardly dodged her hand. "Why do you always like to pat my head!"
"I not only like to pat it, but I also like to ruffle it," Su He said, then fiercely tugged his hair.
Su Lin winced in pain. "Are you even my sister!"
"What do you think?"
As they spoke, they started to squabble again.
Su He spent half a day at Su Lin's place and left as it was getting dark.
During her visit, she listened to the demo Su Lin had recorded and loved it. "This album is definitely going to be a hit! I'll pre-order ten thousand copies!"
"Wow, so generous! As expected, proximity to cinnabar turns things red and proximity to ink turns them black!" Su Lin teased.
Su He took it as a compliment. "I have a lot of money, so what?"
"How much monthly allowance does your husband give you?" Su Lin inquired curiously.
"He just gave me a card, with no limit," Su He said, raising her eyebrows at him triumphantly.
Su Lin tutted. "No wonder you're spending millions at once. So you have a sugar daddy behind you!"
"You underestimate me too much! I'm buying albums to support my brother's career, and I don't need to spend my husband's money! I am, after all, the CEO of a company, I'm not short of money!"
"Oh, then I'll be counting on CEO Su for future care!"
"No problem!"
Before leaving, Su He gave him a parting piece of advice. "If there's anything you don't understand, you can ask your brother-in-law."
Su Lin nodded, thinking it was a good idea.
Lu Yanbei was unaware of the siblings' thoughts, as he had just returned from a business trip.
Despite having just gotten off the plane, there was no trace of fatigue on his face.
"Mr. Lu, should we go directly to the company or..." Cheng Jue asked, following closely behind him.
"Home." After a week away, Lu Yanbei was eager to see Su He.
Cheng Jue acknowledged this and instructed the driver to start the car.
Lu Yanbei leaned back in the seat and opened his phone to check messages.
As the wedding date approached, they were both busier. Previously, he was the only one busy, but now Su He's studio had more work, and she had to devote some of her energy to managing it.
"Mr. Lu, your wife's birthday gift is in the trunk. Remember to take it when we get out of the car," Cheng Jue, a competent assistant, had arranged everything meticulously.
Lu Yanbei leaned against the back of the seat, his well-defined fingers pressing against his aching temples. "Okay."
The place he had traveled to for his business trip produced gemstones. Lu Yanbei had taken time to visit several jewelry companies and had a magnificent set of jewelry custom-made for Su He as a birthday gift.
It had to be said, Lu Yanbei truly doted on his wife, spending tens of millions without batting an eye.
At the time, the sales assistants looked at him as if they wanted to worship him.
He was the embodiment of a money god.
"Mrs. Lu will surely love this gift when she sees it," Cheng Jue said flatteringly at the opportune moment.
In this world, what woman didn't like jewelry?
He believed that Mrs. Lu was no exception.
Most importantly, he had helped choose this jewelry.
"I also ordered a bouquet of flowers near your home; they're Blue Enchantress roses air-freighted from abroad," Cheng Jue finished, awaiting his boss's praise. How could a birthday surprise be complete without flowers? Look how thoughtful he was.
Lu Yanbei glanced at him indifferently. "You've put in a lot of thought!"
"It's what I should do," Cheng Jue said obsequiously.
