Su Lin had just finished his world tour.
His company gave him a long vacation to rest and recuperate.
It was rare for Su Lin to have a break, so he sent all his assistants home on vacation and stayed home alone to play games.
Su Lin was a popular star, skilled in both singing and dancing, but he was a total homebody in private.
Unless absolutely necessary, he disliked going out.
So, when Su He messaged him saying she wanted to visit, he was quite happy.
The two had grown up playing together, and later, with their own careers, they were so busy they rarely saw each other all year. Su Lin truly missed his older sister, Su He.
"Just come over, I'll send you the address," Su Lin bounced up from the sofa.
He glanced around, seeing the messy living room, and immediately felt uneasy.
Putting down his phone, he began to frantically tidy up. Dirty clothes went into the washing machine; trash from takeout was all thrown into the bin; and there were also scattered DVDs and comic books... It took Su Lin an hour to clean up the house.
Su Lin stood in the living room, inspecting it carefully, and nodded with satisfaction.
Su He took a taxi to Su Lin's apartment complex and spent considerable effort finding the building he lived in.
Because of his celebrity status, security was very strict.
"Sis," Su Lin, heavily disguised, personally went downstairs to greet her.
Seeing his attire, Su He burst into laughter. "If you didn't speak, I wouldn't have recognized you!"
Su Lin looked around quickly, pulling her into the elevator. "If I don't disguise myself, it'll be trouble if I get recognized!"
He had finally found a peaceful place.
The accommodations his company had arranged previously often had fans waiting at the entrance of the complex or the building, leaving him with no privacy. He was tired of being surrounded and chased every time he went out.
Later, he chose this complex with better privacy, which finally stopped the harassment.
However, even after moving here, he dared not let his guard down.
After all, entertainment reporters and fans were truly ubiquitous. If even a hint of suspicion was unearthed, he would be in for a hard time again.
Once in the elevator, Su Lin finally removed his hat and sunglasses. "Being too famous is also a burden."
His proud tone made Su He chuckle. "Dressed like this, you're even more likely to attract attention!"
Su Lin: ...
As they entered the apartment, Su He handed him a box.
"What is it?" Su Lin looked at her suspiciously.
"You'll know when you open it," Su He changed into slippers and walked into the living room. Seeing that the room was reasonably tidy, she couldn't help but look at him with new eyes. "Not bad, you've cleaned up quite well."
"I'm not a child anymore," Su Lin retorted instinctively.
When he opened the box and saw the musical instrument inside, his eyes widened. "Where did you get this?"
Su Lin was a musician and his favorite pastime was composing and playing beautiful melodies with various instruments.
What Su He gave him was truly a gift from the heart.
As he spoke, Su Lin immediately picked up the instrument and began to play.
"Last time I went to Yun Cheng for a trip, I saw this ethnic instrument and thought you might like it, so I bought it." Su He walked around briefly, then sat down on the sofa. "Do you live alone usually?"
"Yeah, this is my secret base," Su Lin replied, caressing the instrument lovingly, taking a moment to answer her question.
"Since you finally have a vacation, why not go home to visit?" Su He habitually patted his head.
Su Lin tilted his head, dodging her. "I spent a lot of time on my hair. Don't mess it up!"
Su He, however, did not comply, and ruffled his hair a couple more times. "What haven't I seen about you? Do you need to maintain an idol image in front of me?"
"Don't you know, men and women are not that close?" Su Lin grumbled, fiddling with his hair. "Besides, you're married now. At least maintain some distance. Otherwise, if brother-in-law gets jealous, I won't be able to handle it!"
Although Su Lin was in the entertainment industry, he was no stranger to Lu Yanbei.
A business tycoon, who didn't know him?
Su Lin's agency had even used connections to have them perform at Lu Corporation's annual gala.
He had also had the chance to see Lu Yanbei from afar several times.
That person was clearly not someone to be trifled with!
When Su Lin learned of Su He's marriage to Lu Yanbei, he was stunned. His agent thought he had suffered some kind of shock upon seeing his dumbfounded reaction.
Su Lin looked at his phone several times, confirming that the person in the photo was indeed Su He, and only two words came to mind—Holy crap!
Su He, you've hit the jackpot!
My brother-in-law is a business mogul!
At that moment, his feelings were incredibly complicated.
Su He felt uneasy under his gaze. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
"To be honest, how did you hook up with Lu Yanbei?" Su Lin asked curiously.
"Hook up! Watch your mouth!" Su He stepped forward and twisted his ear. "Lu Yanbei and I are in a relationship based on free love and mutual affection!"
Su Lin cried out in pain. "Let go, let go... Let's talk properly, gentlemen use their words, not their hands!"
"I'm a woman, not a gentleman!" Su He retorted.
"I was wrong!" Su Lin gritted his teeth and begged for mercy.
Su He finally let go.
Su Lin rubbed his reddened ear and muttered, "You're so wild, what exactly does brother-in-law like about you?"
"He likes me just the way I am," Su He said, a proud smile curving her lips.
Su Lin rubbed his arms, goosebumps rising. "How could I not know you're so narcissistic!"
"I'm telling the truth." In front of Su Lin, Su He was exceptionally lively.
Su Lin made a face at her.
They were used to their affectionate bickering and didn't take offense.
After a bit of teasing, Su Lin went back to his room, got a bag, and handed it to Su He. "Here, the wedding gift I promised to buy you last time."
Due to his busy concert schedule, Su Lin hadn't had time to see Su He, so the gift had never been given.
Su He didn't stand on ceremony and opened the gift bag. Inside was a bright red box, very thoughtfully wrapped. Upon unwrapping it, two cartoon dolls were revealed.
Su He: ...
"Don't think this gift is ordinary. I specifically hired someone to customize it based on your and brother-in-law's appearances. It was very expensive!" Seeing her displeased expression, Su Lin quickly explained. "Look closely, don't they resemble you both?"
Su He held them and examined them. Indeed, they bore some resemblance.
"You've got some consideration," Su He stroked the small head of the dolls. Looking at them, she found them quite endearing.
"Seriously, when did you two start dating? Didn't you marry Lu Jingyang originally? How did you get involved with Lu Yanbei?"
"That's a long story," Su He deliberately piqued his curiosity. "Anyway, we didn't do anything immoral. Lu Yanbei confessed to me after I got divorced."
"So, it was premeditated!" Su Lin suddenly realized.
His foolish sister truly had foolish luck.
