Chapter 166: Too Bad You’re Not a Virgin
In the first half of the Grand Line, the place Alucard, Kaido, and others call "Paradise," on one of the seven magnetic routes.
Captain Shino Vilius, with a bounty of 34 million Berries, led the Ice Crystal Pirates. They were based in an extremely cold region, hence the name. Vilius, their captain, was just a 21-year-old kid wearing a bandana, but due to his open and casual personality, somewhat similar to Luffy’s, he had gathered quite a few comrades along the way. However, unfortunately for them, their journey ended today.
Currently, on the Ice Crystal Pirates’ ship, Saz Kazuroy, the navigator with an afro, trembled, looking at Captain Vilius, whose head had already been severed, and their other dismembered comrades.
Alucard stood opposite him, holding a greatsword. Its blade was stained pure black, clearly coated in Armament Haki.
"Why? Why are you slaughtering us all! We have no grievances, do we?" Kazuroy, with his explosive hair, stammered out.
They weren’t an idiotic pirate crew; they recognized Alucard. But no matter what, they never expected that simply by coincidence, Alucard would suddenly board their ship and slaughter every single one of them.
Recalling how Captain Vilius had cared for them like an older brother, he wished he could charge forward right now to avenge him. But the disparity in strength was so utterly despairing.
"Why?" Alucard’s pupils contracted, as if he’d heard something incredible. The greatsword, which had merely been coated in Armament Haki, instantly turned completely black. With a heavy slash, he cut both Kazuroy and the Ice Crystal Pirates’ ship in half.
"To die by the hands of a pirate as a pirate, if you don’t even understand that much resolve, then you’re not even fit to be called a pirate." As the ship split apart and began to sink, Alucard summoned his own ship and sailed away into the distance.
Alucard dispelled his Armament Haki and casually tossed his sword into the ocean. In four months, he had gained a preliminary grasp of Armament Haki. While he genuinely disliked close-quarters combat, it was still unavoidable.
Alucard felt that his speed in killing pirates far surpassed that of the Marines. Yet, even so, they were still in the peak of the Great Pirate Era, with pirate numbers remaining stubbornly high. He wondered when the World Government would introduce the Warlord of the Sea system.
After closing his eyes for a while to rest, Alucard suddenly opened them. Using his Thermal Vision, he sensed human presence about a dozen nautical miles away. "Another pirate ship? Or perhaps Marines..." With that thought, Alucard directed his ship to move in that direction. Thermal Vision could only sense where people were; it couldn’t provide a clairvoyant view of exactly who they were.
The ship Alucard targeted was neither Marine nor pirate. From its appearance, it seemed to be a merchant ship. Merchant ships weren’t usually easy targets for plunder. Generally, they would hire pirate hunters or similar individuals to guard against pirates. However, in this era where pirates still ran rampant, it was rare to see a merchant ship openly sailing the Grand Line.
On the merchant ship, a long white-haired woman on the crow’s nest noticed the drastic changes in the sea foam through her telescope. She called down to the others, "Everyone, at three o’clock, a ship is approaching us!"
The people below didn’t look like money-grubbing merchants; each held books and wore glasses, exuding an scholarly aura. Hearing the woman’s shout from above, they were startled. Another man with glasses yelled, "Everyone, quick, steer the ship in the opposite direction!"
Although the woman on the crow’s nest hadn’t said it was a pirate ship, what else but a pirate ship would intentionally approach their inconspicuous triangular-sailed vessel? Marines? Would Marines bother approaching such a shabby ship, one that didn’t even have a pirate flag, not even for investigation?
This group had been sailing the Grand Line for some time, surviving without any real combat strength thanks to their excellent navigation and evasion skills.
"So fast!" The white-haired woman on the crow’s nest once again looked into the distance with her telescope. She found that the ship she’d estimated to be at least ten nautical miles away was now directly visible as a clear silhouette!
"An iron... an iron ship!" The white-haired woman gasped in surprise; it was her first time seeing a ship without sails that could move so quickly.
Then, when she saw the person sitting in a fixed chair at the bow of the ship, she was too astonished to speak. After a long moment, she hurriedly descended from the nearly ten-meter-high crow’s nest.
It’s that man!
Although she hadn’t seen him in years, his name and pictures frequently appeared on the front pages of newspapers, so she had never forgotten him. She simply couldn’t.
As she stepped down from the crow’s nest, Alucard had already appeared on the deck. Amidst the astonished and slightly fearful gazes of those around him, he surveyed the group. A few seconds later, he mumbled to himself, "Are they just ordinary people?"
"You! Don’t do anything!" The white-haired, coffee-skinned woman suddenly ran in front of Alucard, raising her hands to shield the others, anxiously saying, "Don’t do anything! These are... these are my companions!"
"Oh?" A hint of surprise flashed in Alucard’s eyes at this woman who had suddenly stepped forward.
Olvia nervously swallowed, and amid her tension and fear, she couldn’t help but think, ’He’s grown so tall...’
When Alucard was younger, he was only about her height. Now, she couldn’t even reach him if she stretched out her hand.
Alucard quietly observed her for a long time, then said, "A courageous woman... too bad you’re not a virgin."
