A close call

"Hello, Jingli?"

After Director Wen hung up Mike's call, he dialed Jingli's number.

Jingli was already at the hotel. Her flight was the next morning.

Staying here felt like a waste of time.

She was rushing back to immerse herself in her work as quickly as possible, to forget her encounter with Su Yang.

In the hotel, Jingli wasn't idle. She had been watching the live broadcast of Su Yang's situation.

When Su Yang's incident happened, Jingli, without thinking, immediately drove towards the filming location.

When she received Director Wen's call on the way, Jingli didn't realize her voice was already tinged with tears.

"Hello? Jingli, where are you now?" Director Wen's voice was also anxious. As he spoke to Jingli, he nervously tapped the table.

Upon hearing this, Jingli replied, "Dad, I... I'm on my way to the filming location."

"Good. You must know what's happening. Our people there can't get through. Hurry to the scene. Remember, if you can get the production team to pause the recording and the live broadcast, you must try your best."

Director Wen's gaze hadn't left the live broadcast. He watched as Su Yang remained inside.

This made not only Director Wen but also everyone in Longguo incredibly tense.

They were very worried about Su Yang's safety.

Not only that, but many people were already saying that Su Yang was dead.

They just didn't know where the sea had washed him away to.

In this situation, it would have been better to record everything for evidence. However, this involved potential repercussions. Director Wen decided to try his best to have Mike stop the recording.

He asked Jingli to use a mini-camera to record everything at the scene.

Jingli no longer knew what her father was saying.

She was driving and couldn't concentrate.

"Okay, I understand, Dad. I'm driving now, so I'll hang up and focus on driving."

Hearing this, Director Wen said a few words to Jingli, telling her to drive safely, and then hung up. On the scene, Su Yang had been gone for almost ten minutes.

On the beach, the crying of Anna and the others had become faint.

They had cried for so long that they could barely cry anymore.

"Director, what do we do now?" another staff member asked Mike.

Mike was both worried and angry.

Initially, he hadn't taken the people of Longguo seriously at all. But now, with lives at stake, he couldn't afford to.

The power of Longguo was evident to the entire world.

Therefore, even if he had underestimated Longguo, he wouldn't dare to underestimate them so much. When Mike heard the question, he yelled at the innocent staff member, "What do we do? How should I know? Hurry and think of something!"

Just as many people were picking up their phones to call an ambulance and the police, a voice suddenly came from the sea.

"Found him!"

Everyone looked in the direction of the voice. They saw Su Yang standing in the seawater, illuminated by the moonlight and lights, making him sparkle.

He looked like a god descending to earth.

Seeing the person before them, everyone was silent for a moment, then erupted in a thunderous roar.

The sound was a mix of crying, laughter, and scolding Su Yang.

"How is this possible?" Mike said in shock as he watched Su Yang emerge.

"How is this possible? He's been in the sea for almost ten minutes! And he can come out of the water completely unharmed?" Mike exclaimed.

He absolutely did not want Su Yang to die, but Su Yang's sudden appearance from the sea had genuinely shocked everyone.

The world record was only around eleven minutes, and Su Yang was about to break it.

Su Yang stood in the seawater, knowing that everyone must have been very tense.

Regardless of any conflicts he had with these people, Su Yang knew that they would never be happy about Su Yang dying.

If Su Yang died, this show would be canceled.

Mike and Jon had invested so much in this show. Today was the first day of filming, and they absolutely could not let the show be halted like this.

Even though George and Bama hated Su Yang and desperately wanted him dead,

if Su Yang truly died, they would surely feel guilty.

Su Yang understood this very well.

Su Yang knew that these people, though somewhat wicked, had never killed anyone or done such things.

At most, they targeted others and put them in embarrassing situations.

Killing was something that these cowards would feel too guilty about.

From a distance, Su Yang saw George, whose face was pale, and everyone else looking worried.

Before Su Yang came out, many of these people were worried.

But after Su Yang emerged unharmed, these people were strangely angry with Su Yang.

Because of Su Yang, the show had become like this.

They were supposed to be enjoying a meal, but because of Su Yang, the meal was interrupted, and everyone was worried about Su Yang.

"I apologize for making everyone worry. I'm truly sorry."

Su Yang looked at the expressions on everyone's faces and then said to them.

As he spoke, Su Yang walked towards the beach.

"You know to apologize? Do you know what kind of behavior that was?" Emily said, crossing her arms, her face devoid of pity or sympathy.

Su Yang felt that if he had to pick someone among these people who had absolutely no worry about him being in the water for ten minutes, and only feared being implicated if Su Yang died, it would definitely be Emily.

Su Yang didn't really know Emily well.

But after seeing how Emily treated George in the restaurant today, Su Yang felt that Emily seemed to have no compassion at all.

However, Su Yang didn't care about this at all.

Because Su Yang had no intention of having much contact with Emily.

She didn't like Su Yang, and Su Yang would definitely not like Emily either.

After hearing Emily's words, Su Yang smiled apologetically. By then, Su Yang was almost at the shore. Anna, Mary, and Meimei Charlie immediately ran towards Su Yang.

Su Yang had taken off his shoes before going into the sea. These four had directly entered the seawater wearing their sneakers.

"Hey!" Su Yang wanted to stop these four, but they gave him no chance to react.

"As expected, a bumpkin? Only knows how to make others worry about him." Emily snorted with a cold glance at Su Yang, then left the beach and returned to her seat.

Su Yang pursed his lips, looked at Emily's retreating back, and said, "I apologize to everyone. I was reckless today, but I was also for..."

As he spoke, Su Yang looked at a pearl oyster in his hand, shook his head, and said, "Never mind, never mind. It's my fault today. I'll make it up to you another day."

Hearing Su Yang's words, the expressions of those in the crowd who were very, very dissatisfied with Su Yang softened slightly.

Anna and the others hugged Su Yang, constantly saying things like "Thank God." Su Yang patted their shoulders and said, "It's okay, it's okay. I was reckless this time. I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you later."

"We were almost scared to death..." Anna sobbed to Su Yang.

Su Yang could clearly see that his actions this time had truly terrified them.

These three women had swollen eyes from crying.

Charlie also looked at Su Yang with resentment.

"You..." Charlie sighed and said, "I don't want to say much to you. It's good that you're out safely now."

Su Yang smiled apologetically at Charlie and said, "I told you, I'm fine. Thank you for your concern. I won't do it again next time."
