Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Long Time No See
At the moment he looked up and saw her, a hint of relaxation appeared on his tense face, and then he quickly walked over.
"Where did you go?"
The three words of questioning carried a trace of anger he couldn’t suppress.
As he got closer, Evelyn Clayton could clearly see the raging anger in his eyes.
Evelyn Clayton felt a bit guilty, diverted her gaze, coughed lightly, and replied evasively.
"I didn’t go anywhere."
He raised an eyebrow in disbelief, his tone growing colder: "Didn’t you say you were feeling unwell? What are you doing here instead of resting?"
Thinking about her father’s death, which was inseparable from Harrison Grant.
Looking at James Grant before her, a sharp pain filled her eyes.
"Sorry, I’m going to the restroom."
Evelyn Clayton took a deep breath, trying to act normal, got up and walked around him towards the restroom.
James Grant stared directly at her back, his intense gaze seemed to pierce her spine, seeing through her disguise.
Suddenly a female voice sounded behind him—
"Oh, Director Grant, long time no see."
The woman approached with a seductive voice, swaying her hips, and directly wrapped her hand around his arm.
"Why haven’t you come to see me lately? I’ve missed you terribly."
James Grant stood there, glancing indifferently at the beauty in front of him.
His innate nobility and aloofness were perfectly apparent, yet exceptionally distant and cold.
"Scram."
His brows and eyes were filled with aggression.
The beauty was surprised but let go guiltily.
Outside the door, Summer Monroe stepped inside, seeing a provocatively dressed woman beside James Grant.
She slightly tilted her head, curved her lips, and stepped forward.
"Director Grant, who is this?"
She intentionally or unintentionally carried a cold disdain, her gaze slanted at the beauty.
"Don’t know her."
He didn’t even spare a glance at either of them, his eyes remained fixed in the direction of the restroom.
The beauty’s face looked embarrassed.
Summer Monroe looked her up and down, contempt evident in her eyes: "Miss, isn’t it inappropriate to flirt with someone who is engaged?"
The beauty gritted her teeth, her face turning ugly, glaring fiercely at her before strutting away in her high heels.
"Director Grant, are you waiting for someone here?"
Speaking, Summer Monroe moved closer, sitting down beside him.
He remained silent, his profile sharp, emanating a faint detachment, his distinct black and white eyes unmoved.
Summer Monroe was ignored, pursed her lips in displeasure.
She didn’t bother with niceties, getting straight to the point: "Director Grant, have you reconsidered the contract from last time? This cooperation benefits you and The Grant Group immensely without any drawbacks."
With that, James Grant finally shifted his gaze.
A chilling sight fell on her, causing her spine to tense: "No deal."
Just two simple words, yet they were piercing cold.
Today’s James Grant was more frightening than usual.
Summer Monroe realized this and knew when to back off.
Provoking him when he was angry wouldn’t be wise either.
Elsewhere, Evelyn Clayton came out of the restroom and saw Summer Monroe sitting next to James Grant from afar.
And the look in Summer Monroe’s eyes when she gazed at him carried a faint sparkle of interest.
She tilted her head slightly and walked straight over.
"Miss Monroe, what brings you here?"
Evelyn Clayton stood in front of James Grant, blocking Summer Monroe’s view, looking down at her.
Her expression was calm but her tone carried a clear, cold authority.
Summer Monroe sensed her hostility, and her tone softened: "Miss Clayton, I’m discussing business cooperation with Director Grant."
Cooperation?
She remembered, last time Summer Monroe also wanted to cooperate with James Grant.
She turned to glance at James Grant, his expression still grim.
His black eyes fixed steadily on her, carrying an inexplicable pressure.
