Chapter 128: Bearing a Bad Reputation

Chapter 128: Chapter 128: Bearing a Bad Reputation

Finn Lawrence stiffened his neck, "It must be your fault during transportation!"

"But those boxes were not supplied by our company." Dropping a bombshell, Evelyn Clayton said coldly, "We have surveillance records at the time of shipment that can be cross-verified. Now, I need Mr. Lawrence to provide the surveillance video after warehousing to confirm exactly where the problem arose."

This was just short of outright saying Finn was the thief calling out to catch the thief.

In fact, Finn’s expression was indeed not looking good.

When Iris Lockwood presented the footage of the shipment leaving, he suddenly said, "The warehouse surveillance is broken, I can’t meet Director Pierce’s requirement."

"But—!" he changed his tone, "Can Miss Clayton guarantee that the damage wasn’t caused during transport?"

Once again shifting the huge burden onto them.

The group employees glared angrily, but Finn’s biggest advantage, coming from a sales background, was his shamelessness.

He wasn’t afraid at all, "Miss Clayton can’t guarantee it, so—"

Evelyn Clayton interrupted him, "Once the goods are handed over, it’s no longer our responsibility. Mr. Lawrence should know this better than I do. Your side didn’t discover any issues during the handover and directly warehoused the goods, only discovering problems a day after the contract was fulfilled. To put it bluntly, whether the goods are damaged or not, you should bear it."

This reasoning was well-founded and the employees looked at their boss with admiration.

"So, are we just supposed to take this loss for nothing?!" Finn got agitated, looking at James Grant with discontent, "Director Grant, is this how your company does business? If you can’t give me a satisfactory resolution, I will represent my company in suing Atlas Group!"

Evelyn Clayton was almost amused in anger; this person’s words were harder than iron.

He was the one who said the surveillance was broken, and also the one threatening to sue, claiming all the reason was on his side?

Such childish threats were ignored by James Grant, his expression remaining unchanged.

"Sue if you want, and remember to do it quickly. In a few days, those lawyers on leave will be back at the company."

The implication was that Finn shouldn’t expect to win the lawsuit if the court summons arrived late.

After speaking, without sparing Finn another glance, James Grant took Evelyn Clayton’s hand and turned to leave.

Back in the studio, after pondering for a moment, he spoke, "Finn is suspicious."

Evelyn Clayton seemed thoughtful, "He doesn’t seem to care how this issue is resolved, but rather insists on the attribution of responsibility... Is he trying to saddle us with the reputation of a quality problem?"

Generally, when problems occur, the priority is minimizing losses to ensure the normal continuation of operations.

But obviously, Finn wasn’t thinking this way.

Iris Lockwood also had this feeling, feeling somewhat aggrieved.

"He never mentioned compensation for the losses throughout the whole day."

Marcus, who hadn’t gone along, listened, touching his chin thoughtfully.

The four discussed for a while and, having reached a plan, Evelyn Clayton looked at Iris Lockwood.

"You were responsible for this issue initially, so now you continue to follow up. Make sure to find evidence that the mistakes aren’t on Atlas Group or the studio."

This was the critical task at hand.

Iris Lockwood understood the seriousness and replied weakly before starting to work.

Unexpectedly, Marcus suddenly called her, "There’s an internal banquet tonight, I’ll come to pick you up."

Upon hearing this, Iris Lockwood’s eyes instantly showed a hint of joy.

By evening.

James Grant and Marcus came together to pick people up.

Coming out of the changing room, James Grant’s gaze naturally fell on Evelyn Clayton’s lips.

The outline of her lips formed a shallow curve, a perfect arc for a kiss.
