Chapter 307: Chapter 307: Summer Monroe Was in a Car Accident
As the auction reached its conclusion, Franklin Ford and Yara Reagan walked over side by side, both with faint smiles on their faces.
"Today could be considered a great success." Franklin handed two glasses of champagne to the ladies and took one for himself, "To your success."
Yara Reagan and Evelyn Clayton exchanged a look, seeing satisfaction and a gentle smile in each other’s eyes.
They downed a glass of champagne.
The guests present started to disperse in small groups, while the media, wanting an interview, were temporarily held back by the staff.
Yara Reagan smiled and waved to Evelyn Clayton, "You go ahead for the interview; I’ll handle things here."
Evelyn Clayton smiled and was about to go over when Franklin’s assistant hurried over.
She couldn’t help but pause with curiosity.
Franklin’s assistant didn’t even have time to greet them, directly walking up to Franklin and, with a pale face, whispered something.
Seeing Franklin’s expression turn grave with the assistant’s words, Evelyn couldn’t help asking, "What’s wrong?"
"There’s a problem." Franklin’s lips were tightly pressed together, his eyes filled with shock, "Summer Monroe got into a car accident and is now in the hospital."
Upon hearing this, both Evelyn and Yara looked at each other in bewilderment.
After a moment of thought, Evelyn softly said, "If you’re worried, you should go check on her. Besides, do me a little favor."
Franklin nodded, "What do you need?"
"Help us find out about Summer’s health condition, any abnormalities, let me know."
Hearing this, Franklin’s eyes showed a hint of confusion, and after pausing for a moment, he said, "If you’re that concerned, why don’t we go together."
Franklin knew he couldn’t not go. It’s a hectic time, and he couldn’t let the public feel he’s indifferent about his relative’s incident.
But if he could, Franklin really wished he could pretend to know nothing.
Evelyn considered the proposal and signaled to Yara with her eyes.
With a composed expression, Yara nodded after a moment of thought, "Okay, I’ll come with you both. I’ll make arrangements here quickly."
While Yara arranged things with the staff, Franklin and Evelyn left the venue through the side door.
Soon, Yara also exited the venue and got into Franklin’s car.
"The media’s been settled for now; any interviews or whatnot, we’ll handle next time." Yara’s countenance was heavy, "Let’s go first."
Although unaware of the reason, Franklin wisely refrained from asking too much.
The car sped along the highway and quickly arrived at the hospital.
In the VIP inpatient building, the three arrived at Summer Monroe’s ward.
"No one’s here." Franklin’s assistant peeked inside the empty VIP room, "She might be undergoing tests."
Franklin furrowed his brows slightly and went straight to the nurse station.
Evelyn and Yara followed him and heard Franklin ask, "Where is the patient in 213?"
"Gone for tests."
"How’s the patient’s condition? Is it due to loss of blood or—"
Before Franklin could finish his sentence, a sharp voice suddenly interrupted.
"Franklin Ford, why are you here?!"
Franklin’s body stiffened as he turned to look, an expression of mockery rising in his eyes.
Yara and Evelyn focused their gaze and were momentarily speechless.
The person who appeared was Summer Monroe’s mother, Heather Donovan.
At this moment, Heather Donovan was glaring at the three of them, as if she were a lion on edge.
"What are you doing here?!"
"Aunt," Franklin said coldly, "Don’t misunderstand; I’m here to visit my sister-in-law. How is she now?"
