Chapter 343: Chapter 343: A Private Conversation

Heading to meet with Old Wang and the head of the design team, Evelyn Clayton briefly explained her plans, then watched the two calmly.

Old Wang was undoubtedly a straightforward person, though he tended to be timid. However, he carried out tasks flawlessly, and he didn’t screw up at the last exhibition show.

As for the head of the workshop design team, Julia Lawrence, Evelyn Clayton really didn’t know her well.

Originally, Yara Reagan recruited her based on her professionalism and experience. She’s a young lady who appears quiet and reserved, even less noticeable than the workers in the workshop.

Although Julia’s designs were reasonably standard and her basic professional skills were strong, including pattern drafting, cutting, sewing, and even garment photography were no problem.

But she seemed to be too introverted; sometimes, even when workers joked around and bullied her, she didn’t say a word, and she’d even help them with their own responsibilities.

Evelyn Clayton brought up the matter of entrepreneurship, Old Wang appeared eager, while Julia still remained silent.

"Julia, what are your thoughts?" Evelyn Clayton looked at Julia.

Julia seemed startled like a surprised quail, stammering in reply: "I-I don’t have any thoughts. This is your and the second boss’s matter, and I should not interrupt."

Evelyn Clayton frowned slightly: "Julia, you were originally recruited as a proper team leader, and I am very satisfied with you at work. But now, as a senior member of our studio, establishing the company naturally requires your input. Do you really want to stay in the factory forever?"

This is considered the initial stage of Evelyn Clayton and Yara Reagan’s entrepreneurship. Julia’s profile is just suitable for their current team, and Evelyn Clayton doesn’t want to give up.

Julia’s lips moved, hesitantly not saying a word.

Yara was impatient and asked: "It’s not really about having you do anything, initially it might just be hectic, wearing multiple hats. Once we’re profitable in the future, everything will be sorted out!"

Julia’s face slowly turned red, seemingly wanting to say something but suppressing it.

Seeing this, Old Wang quickly interjected, "First boss and second boss, you both have a great idea, but you still need to give Julia and me some time to consider. How about we respond to you tomorrow?"

Yara still wanted to say something, but Evelyn Clayton pressed her hand, signaling her not to continue speaking.

Leaving the meeting room, Old Wang called out to Evelyn Clayton.

Old Wang’s expression was unclear, as if sighing: "Director Clayton, can we talk alone?"

Evelyn Clayton realized what he meant and invited Old Wang into the office alone.

Once inside, Old Wang seemed a bit restless.

"Director Clayton, I personally don’t have a problem following your lead... After all, given my age and work experience, it’s unlikely I’ll find a better position." As a middle-aged man, Old Wang’s smile was somewhat shy, "You’re generous and sensible, not disdaining me is truly my blessing. But..."

Evelyn Clayton listened intently, her tone softening: "Whatever doubts you have, just say them."

Old Wang sighed: "It’s not about me, it’s about young Julia."

Evelyn Clayton was taken aback: "What about her?"

"Julia, that kid, is an orphan, raised in a welfare institution. At about ten years old, she was adopted, and her adoptive parents are really no good, they embezzled the government subsidies meant for Julia’s education. Thankfully, that kid is resilient, her grades were excellent, and she had specialties, that’s what got her into a good university."

"But now, she’s still trapped by her adoptive family, who hold her for more money; every bit she earns is taken by them, leaving her truly stuck. Such a kid, without someone to lend a hand, would find it hard to get out of the pit."

As Old Wang spoke, his face showed profound sadness, "I can sympathize with her; that kid is timid, doesn’t dare to oppose parents who raised her, yet she lacks confidence despite her capabilities. If you’re indeed serious about entrepreneurship, Julia might not be the ideal ’founding hero,’ but her talent surely is a waste. So Director Clayton, the choice lies with you."
