Gasp a mouthful of milk tea

Chapter 358: Chapter 358: Are You Nervous?

Franklin Ford applied the medicine to Evelyn Clayton, finally breathing a sigh of relief.

Then he saw Yara Reagan holding two cups of hot tea. After a brief pause, he quickly took them, "Thanks."

Yara smiled gently, "No problem."

Saying this, Yara sat beside Evelyn and asked with concern, "Evelyn, did you run into James Grant at the police station today?"

"Yeah, unexpectedly." Evelyn was reluctant to say more and changed the subject, "Did you come here with Director Ford?"

Yara chuckled, "We ran into each other by chance. After I woke up, I came to find you, ended up meeting Director Ford, and when you didn’t pick up my calls, we were planning to head to the police station to look for you."

"I’m fine." Evelyn tried to muster some energy.

Yara was still filled with self-reproach and gazed at Evelyn, "I know what happened last night."

Evelyn was momentarily choked up, silently squeezed Yara’s hand, which was a form of comfort.

Then she looked at Franklin Ford, and after thanking him, went straight to the point, "Director Ford, I might need to trouble you to find a lawyer."

"Don’t worry," Franklin replied with a steady calm voice, "You can authorize me to handle the matter for you. I’ll find a lawyer and take care of it, you can rest easy."

Evelyn smiled and shook her head, "There’s no time to rest. Now that the company is about to be established, nothing can go wrong. There’s also the new exhibition, which hasn’t even started preparation yet."

"My sister has already sent the jewelry raw materials to my place. I can deliver them to you any time," Franklin said, his expression darkening, "But you need to recuperate well. I’ll only give them to you once you’re better."

Evelyn was momentarily speechless.

She exchanged a look with Yara and suggested, "How about this, you can give the materials to Yara first. She’s also a jewelry designer. She can sketch designs based on the raw materials, while I draw the layout for the new exhibition."

Franklin was a bit surprised by this suggestion and glanced at Yara, "I always thought Miss Yara wasn’t a design major."

Yara smiled lightly, sipping her tea to cover a tinge of embarrassment and shyness.

Evelyn noticed Yara’s slightly off reaction, her eyes glittering slightly.

Franklin thought for a moment and deemed it inappropriate, "Giving it to Miss Yara, with your relationship, isn’t it still—"

"It’s all right, really. Trust me, I definitely want Evelyn to rest well," Yara coughed lightly, "Leave it to me, I can do it."

Yara’s initiative made Evelyn raise an eyebrow slightly.

This good friend of hers had always been a bit carefree and didn’t like to show off her skills in public. She had even clearly expressed during university that she would rather tag along with Evelyn and be laid-back forever.

But now she...

Evelyn sipped her tea thoughtfully.

After contemplating for a moment, Franklin said, "Then I’ll have someone deliver the raw materials to Miss Yara’s place tonight."

Evelyn nodded, "Thanks Director Ford, this time, just like with the previous show, the profits will be divided according to the contract. Once things settle down, I’ll treat you to thank you."

She conducted business formally, with her words subtly indicating she was seeing him off.

Franklin paused slightly, swallowing back the words of concern that were on the tip of his tongue.

"Then I’ll take my leave," Franklin said tactfully as he stood up, "If anything comes up, feel free to contact me any time."

Evelyn and Yara got up to see him off.

After closing the door, Evelyn let out a sigh of relief.

Yara glanced at her teasingly, "Do you find it tiring to get along with Director Ford?"

He’s been overstepping lately.

Evelyn didn’t say this aloud, because no matter how you put it, it sounded somewhat heartless and cold.

Especially since he had just saved her last night.

"It’s all right," Evelyn looked at Yara, "It seems like you’re more uneasy around him, like, very tense?"
