Chapter 379: Chapter 379: Don’t Waste It
His words were tantamount to pouring a bit of cold water into a pot of boiling oil, and as the door closed, Soren Foster’s expression immediately broke.
Soren lowered his gaze to look at Summer Monroe, his eyes bloodshot, "What does he mean by that?"
Summer was a bit impatient, "What do you mean, what does he mean?"
"To ask me to attend Felix Ford’s birthday memorial, is he trying to humiliate me?" Soren was practically gnashing his teeth.
Summer scoffed lightly, staring directly at Soren, "Soren, know your place. You are my special assistant. It’s an honor for you to attend my late husband’s birthday memorial. What, do you fancy yourself as my partner?"
Soren’s nerves, already on edge for days, almost snapped in that moment. He grabbed Summer’s jaw, eyes wide with fury, "Summer, do you even have a heart?!"
"Hiss..."
Summer inhaled sharply from the pain, but the fire in her eyes only burned more fiercely.
Instead of dodging, she charmingly wrapped her arms around Soren’s neck, like a soft water snake, tightly entwining him, sealing him in.
"What are you angry for? Isn’t this more exciting for us now? Besides, what’s the point in competing with someone who’s already dead?" Summer whispered seductively into his ear, "There’s a building over at the ancestral home, where Felix and I lived when he was alive. Don’t you want to go there and do something?"
Soren felt a flicker of movement in his brow, his lower abdomen tightened, and he firmly clasped her in his embrace.
"Summer... little Yu... You really leave me no choice." Soren’s voice gradually sank into desire.
Summer slightly curled her lips, in that moment becoming the embodiment of desire, as if a seductive enchantress.
Yet there was always a touch of clarity in her eyes.
"Baby, do something for me. If you do it well, I’ll reward you nicely in the room where Felix and I used to live, okay?"
Soren was trapped in a mire named Summer, both sinking and lucid.
He knew this was another web of desire Summer wove, but he didn’t want to escape.
"Whatever you want me to do, I’ll savor it—"
"Make sure that those two bitches, Violet Ford and Evelyn Clayton, have their reputations ruined... Once that’s done, having the entire Ford Family in my pocket is only a matter of time... Then, no one can stand in the way of you and me..."
Summer’s enticing words echoed in Soren’s ear, as they tangled, shifting positions. Soren sat in the chair, while Summer straddled him, gazing down at him with a light smile.
Soren raised his eyes slightly, looking up at Summer, as pleasure eroded his last thread of reasoning.
He murmured lowly, "What should I do?"
"Whatever you’re good at, go do it." Summer grasped a handful of the short hair on the back of Soren’s head, gently pulling it back.
Hearing Soren emit a low gasp from his throat, Summer’s sense of satisfaction and vanity reached its peak.
At least, with a man like this, no matter what she does, he remains enchanted by her.
"I heard that Gem has an employee that Evelyn treasures. She hasn’t met you yet..." Summer murmured quietly, planting a kiss on Soren’s lips, "Do you understand what to do?"
Confliction flickered across Soren’s eyes, but soon, Summer’s kiss muddled his judgment.
As the kiss ended, Summer panted lightly, tracing the elegant line of Soren’s nose with her fingertip, "Such a handsome face, baby, don’t let it go to waste."
