Chapter 384: Chapter 384: You Have to Hold On Tight

The words were quite blunt, but everyone present was sharp, so naturally, they couldn’t let them fall flat.

Violet Ford spoke with a cheerful tone, sounding surprised, but her expression showed no hint of shock: "Oh, so Mr. Grant and our Evelyn go way back? I must have been naive, thinking of introducing Evelyn to Mr. Grant all this time."

Saying this, Violet slyly shifted the topic to James Grant and Lynn Yates, "But I just remembered, wasn’t there a rumor about Evelyn and young Director Grant some time ago? How amusing, but thank you, Miss Yates, for clearing this up for Evelyn."

Violet’s words were calm yet assertive, not only placing Evelyn firmly in her camp but also subtly backing her up, treating her as one of their own.

James Grant’s face, already displeased, grew darker, his ink-black eyes fixated on Evelyn Clayton, seemingly ignoring Violet’s remark.

"Thank me for what? There was nothing to it. If I didn’t clarify, would I watch as dirt was thrown on Evelyn?" Lynn Yates, as always, was at ease in such settings, speaking with poise, "I never expected you’d work with Evelyn. I wonder if I could get a bit of Evelyn’s light in collaborating with Miss Ford and Gem in the future?"

Lynn’s response granted due respect to both Evelyn and Violet, making Harrison Grant’s expression less pleasant.

But he couldn’t control James Grant any more than he could Lynn Yates.

"If anyone’s getting the light, it’s me, benefiting from Evelyn’s light to work with Director Yates," Violet’s smile deepened as she smoothly brought up collaboration, "I heard Director Yates has many independent designer fashion stores. I wonder if, when our Gem’s clothes are out, we might bask in some of Director Yates’s light?"

Lynn Yates’s smile widened as she exchanged business cards with Violet: "I’d be delighted, working with Miss Ford is an honor for our Yates family."

Things were amicable here, while Harrison and James Grant wore matching dark expressions.

But Violet clearly didn’t want to engage with them, so Franklin Ford first took them to pay respects to Felix Ford.

Lynn Yates also smiled and said, "Well then, Miss Ford, I’ll take my leave first, let’s chat later."

Violet nodded, "Franklin, take good care of our guests."

Once Franklin took them away, Violet returned to Yara Reagan with Evelyn Clayton.

The three of them met, and Violet clinked glasses with the two, joking, "That Lynn Yates, such a character."

"She has a lot of boldness and vision," Evelyn felt satisfied with the intent to collaborate with Lynn Yates, "There are many things I need to learn from her."

Violet was slightly surprised: "Why do you say that?"

Yara held back a laugh: "Evelyn means she admires Lynn Yates’s focus on money rather than men."

Violet understood a bit, bursting into laughter, "Having lived abroad for so long, I never knew the Yates family lady was so interesting, seems like there’s no escaping this collaboration."

"But why did the Grant family come here today?" Evelyn was still puzzled, looking at Violet, "I hadn’t heard you invited the Grant family?"

Violet smirked, "I heard you and the old man from the Grant family don’t get along, so I privately sent them an invitation to support you. After all, the incident with you and James Grant has been such a buzz."

Evelyn was a bit speechless, then chuckled after recovering.

She shook her head, her long lashes trembling slightly, covering the complexity in her clear eyes, "Thank you, sister Violet."

Violet raised her eyebrow.

"Let’s not talk about that. My habit is not to work with men; finding women to collaborate with is the best. I don’t care what happens between you and James Grant and the Grant family, but Lynn Yates, you better hold on to her."
