Second Senior Brother

Chapter 917 Resolution

Slur heard Chen Fan’s words, but did not immediately reply, maintaining a moment of silence.

After all, if Chen Fan failed, the Undefeated Knights would certainly suffer heavy blows and face fierce retaliation from District Thirteen.

Having originally sought a fallback for the Undefeated Knights’ future, Slur dared not rashly make a promise.

“Of course, if my demand cannot be met, then our subsequent cooperation with leniency is also off the table,” Chen Fan stated, seeing Slur’s hesitation and presenting his bargaining chip.

Upon hearing Chen Fan’s resolute stance, Slur’s expression darkened.

“Can Mr. Chen give me some time to consider?” Slur asked.

“Of course, no problem at all.” Chen Fan was nearly finished with his ramen.

At this moment, shouts echoed from outside.

“Kill them!”

The sounds of fighting drifted in again, accompanied by the sounds of people falling.

“My mission calls. If Mr. Slur believes there is a need for continued cooperation, we can meet at the Undefeated Knights’ base tonight. At least I should go there,” Chen Fan said, preparing to push the door open. Slur, however, remained seated opposite Chen Fan, deep in thought.

The noodle shop owner, seeing Chen Fan about to leave, quickly said, “Sir, please do not leave this noodle shop. There are two members from nearby major syndicates fighting outside!” The owner kindly warned him.

Chen Fan turned to look at the shop owner and smiled, “I came to help you resolve this matter.”

Hearing Chen Fan’s words, the shop owner looked at him with confusion.

With that, Chen Fan took off his jacket, revealing the District Thirteen uniform underneath.

The shop owner suddenly understood, “Thank you for the rescue from District Thirteen, thank you for the rescue from District Thirteen.” He even waived Chen Fan’s bill for the meal.

“I recall District Thirteen being something of an evil organization,” Chen Fan remarked, seeing the owner’s excited reaction as if he had seen a savior.

Slur, however, stood up and helped Chen Fan by answering the question. “The world has its light and its darkness. While District Thirteen ostensibly helps society solve various difficult problems, acts as mercenaries, and provides employment for the people of the Red Sun Nation, earning their love, within the martial arts world, District Thirteen is an evil organization that does all manner of wicked deeds, even capturing lone martial artists for human experimentation to enhance human potential.” However, this was a telepathic message, as it was best for ordinary people not to know about matters of the martial arts world.

Chen Fan immediately perceived Slur’s telepathic message and nodded as if he understood, though not entirely.

As Chen Fan pushed open the door.

The scene that greeted him was a multitude of syndicate members in red uniforms chasing and hacking at members in blue uniforms.

On the surface, this clash appeared to be a rout for the blue-uniformed members.

The red-uniformed members’ clothes bore two characters.

“Red Star.”

The blue-uniformed members fleeing also had two characters on their attire.

“East Rise.”

“These are the major syndicates of the Red Sun Nation,” Chen Fan mused, shaking his head.

At that moment, a Red Star member, spotting Chen Fan’s appearance, lunged at him with a saber.

Although Chen Fan did not see it, his martial artist’s danger sense alerted him, and he unleashed a wave of true qi backward.

The Red Star syndicate member was sent flying backward, falling to the ground and perishing instantly.

The sound of the fall drew the attention of other Red Star members.

Seeing Chen Fan’s action and the fallen Red Star member behind him, a man, seemingly the leader of this mission, the Red Star Hall Master, shouted for the numerous Red Star syndicate members to surround Chen Fan.

The noodle shop owner and other customers in the noodle shops quickly closed their doors and peered outside.

Chen Fan was instantly surrounded by a group of Red Star syndicate members from all sides.

“Did you kill him?”

After repelling the East Rise members who had focused their attack here, the man, presumed to be the Red Star Hall Master, walked up to Chen Fan and asked.

“Mmm…” Chen Fan replied coldly.

Seeing his attitude, the Red Star Hall Master instantly exploded.

“I’m speaking to you nicely, and you give me this attitude?” the Red Star Hall Master said, his face grim.

But Chen Fan moved.

Before the Red Star syndicate members could react, Chen Fan’s figure vanished from his spot as if he had never been there. The Red Star Hall Master only felt a gust of wind brush past him.

“Done,” Chen Fan said, dusting off his hands.

As the Red Star Hall Master saw Chen Fan reappear, he was about to shout for his subordinates to charge, but his body and voice refused to obey, and he could not move.

“Goodbye.”

As Chen Fan’s voice faded.

The Red Star Hall Master’s consciousness began to fade.

Of course, the ordinary Red Star subordinates who had surrounded Chen Fan felt the same.

Following Chen Fan’s voice, they fell to the ground one by one, dead.

Curiously, none of these Red Star subordinates’ bodies bore any wounds, nor did any blood flow.
