Chapter 167 Li Langqing

"Go investigate this person!"

As soon as Bai Suxiang arrived at the office early in the morning, Liu Sandao handed her a name.

"Li Langqing?" As Bai Suxiang spoke the name, her Qilin Jade moved again.

This reminded her of the person her mother had arranged for her to meet.

"Why him?"

Bai Suxiang asked, confused.

"What? You know him?" Liu Sandao was surprised.

This was the name that had appeared on the first page of the Fortune Manual when he looked at it that morning. There was no special reason, other than that he might need to bestow fortune fruits soon.

"This..." The more Bai Suxiang avoided it, the more the name appeared, and even stranger, the frequency of the Qilin Jade's movement increased.

"It's good that you know him. We need to get in touch with him as soon as possible," Liu Sandao said calmly.

"Us? Do we really have to get to know him?"

Bai Suxiang was evading the issue. It was a rather awkward situation.

If it were just getting to know an ordinary friend, Bai Suxiang would not have objected, but ever since that other connection was established, she felt a bit resistant.

Yet, the more she felt this way, the more the Qilin Jade vibrated.

She had to press her chest tightly.

"What's wrong?" Liu Sandao noticed something was amiss and asked.

"Nothing, nothing. It's just that whenever this name is mentioned, the Qilin Jade keeps vibrating."

"Really? Let me see!"

Liu Sandao got up and walked towards Bai Suxiang.

Bai Suxiang took out the Qilin Jade, and Liu Sandao called out, "Li Langqing!"

Indeed, the Qilin Jade vibrated slightly.

"Hmm, it seems we really do need to meet him soon. Perhaps seeing him in person will provide an answer!"

Hearing Liu Sandao say this, Bai Suxiang, despite her reluctance, had no choice but to try.

Guo Xiufang was overjoyed when she heard that Bai Suxiang agreed to the blind date, and she immediately contacted Aunt Liu that very night.

The date and time were set, and the meeting was arranged at Guazi River Park.

Bai Suxiang specifically asked Liu Sandao to accompany her, but she didn't tell him that it was a blind date.

Liu Sandao assumed it was a friend Bai Suxiang knew and naturally paid no attention to these trivial matters.

It was a weekend, and the agreed-upon time was ten o'clock. Liu Sandao arrived at Guazi River Park early and took a stroll while waiting for the two women to arrive.

Meeting friends in a park was a good choice. The air was fresh, and the environment was spacious, making it easy to relax.

Since it was a weekend, the park wasn't crowded, but there were people strolling everywhere.

As Liu Sandao walked past a thicket of trees, someone suddenly shouted, "Oh no, I've twisted my ankle!"

Liu Sandao habitually took out his Fortune Manual, and a name appeared on it: Li Langqing.

The name flashed, indicating that fortune fruits were about to be bestowed.

However, since the Fortune Fruit System began issuing tasks, the Fortune Manual seemed to have become less useful.

At this moment, an elder appeared in the sky.

It was evident that he was an immortal, likely having accepted a task from the Fortune Fruit System to earn fortune fruits.

Liu Sandao had no intention of disturbing him, but the elder seemed to have noticed him.

"Fellow Daoist, please step aside for a moment!"

The elder was clearly addressing him.

Liu Sandao didn't move, and began to converse with him using the secret language of immortals.

It turned out that the elder was Yue Lao, the matchmaker god, and he was there for a particular marriage. He had happened to pick up a task issued by the Fortune Fruit System.

While speaking, Yue Lao cast a small spell towards another side of the park.

A young man dressed in a white suit appeared.

He was originally heading in a different direction, but hearing the cry, he turned back.

"Don't worry, Auntie! I'm here to help, stay calm!"

This young man was Li Langqing, Liu Sandao was absolutely certain.

Li Langqing was studying medicine. Although he was young, he was already capable of performing surgery independently. He could handle an elderly person who had twisted their ankle.

He approached the old lady and bent down, manipulating her foot with his hands.

"Ouch! It hurts!"

The old lady cried out in pain and quickly covered her foot with her hands.

Seeing her reaction, people around her felt her pain.

"Be gentler! Do you know how to treat it, just messing around like that!"

An old man reprimanded her, appearing to be the old lady's husband.

"Don't worry, Auntie, it's okay now. Try walking and see!"

Li Langqing wasn't angered; he said kindly.

He had seen this many times in the hospital. Many people didn't understand doctors, always thinking that their pain was paramount, while doctors, they believed, only cared about earning money.

The old lady took a couple of steps and, indeed, felt no pain.

"Hey, it's better! Thank you so much, young man!"

The old lady said.

"It's nothing, just a small matter!"

Seeing that the old lady was fine, Li Langqing lowered his head, preparing to brush the dust off his knees.

The situation had been somewhat urgent, and out of professional habit, Li Langqing hadn't paid much attention to it. However, the white clothes were clearly not resistant to dirt, and he had a blind date soon, so he had to clean them.

Seeing him patting his trousers, the old lady noticed and immediately bent down to help: "I'm so sorry, you got your pants dirty. Let me wipe them for you, let me wipe them for you!"

Li Langqing couldn't dodge in time, and the old lady grabbed his pants and started rubbing them.

Out of instinct, he tried to avoid her, hastily declining, "No need, Auntie, really. I can brush it off."

But the old lady was too enthusiastic and managed to grab his pants first, rubbing them.

The dirt on the white clothes, which would have been barely noticeable with a gentle tap, was now becoming conspicuous.

"This... alas!"

Li Langqing couldn't help but sigh.

"Your clothes are too easily soiled. Why don't you take them off, and I'll help you wash them when I get home!"

The old lady said.

She probably felt guilty, believing she had caused the young man's clothes to get dirty.

"No, really, Auntie! I have something to do, so I'll be going now!"

Li Langqing quickly fled the scene, not just because of his pants.

It was almost ten o'clock, and out of politeness, he had to arrive early. The matchmaker had told him that the girl was very beautiful and easily recognizable.

Li Langqing felt a bit nervous. Although he had been practicing medicine for several years, he felt this was much harder than performing surgery.

"Ding!" Liu Sandao's attention shifted to Yue Lao, who had received a fortune fruit.

From beginning to end, Yue Lao had not intervened, yet the matter was resolved.

"This fortune fruit should have gone to Li Langqing!"

Liu Sandao muttered, not expecting Yue Lao to hear him.

"A joke! This fortune fruit is a reward from the system for saving that old lady. You want us to do things but not give us any reward? Where is the logic in that!"

Upon hearing Yue Lao's words, Liu Sandao realized he had offended him and quickly apologized.

"Please don't be angry, Yue Lao. I merely remarked casually, seeing that the person who performed the good deed had good fortune. Please don't take it to heart!"

"Heh heh heh, so be it. I have other matters to attend to, so I shall take my leave!" Yue Lao said, and then flew away.
