Chapter 274 Company Secrets

Bai Suxiang busied herself for a while and, seeing Liu Sandao staring intently at the screen, asked,

"Is this Yousu Technology very big?"

"It seems so. The company specifically set up a filing cabinet, so I assume it's quite substantial. Didn't you see that the other companies' materials were all bundled together?"

As Bai Suxiang spoke, her gaze returned to her own computer.

"Oh!"

Liu Sandao responded with a simple "Oh," acknowledging her.

"Why are you asking about this?" Bai Suxiang casually inquired.

"Nothing, nothing!" Liu Sandao initially intended to brush it off, but then seemed to reconsider. "Well—could you help me find out about this Yousu Technology?"

"Don't you have the information right here? You can just look at it!"

Bai Suxiang said, pointing to the stack of materials on the desk waiting to be printed.

"I want to know what isn't here!"

Liu Sandao stated directly.

Bai Suxiang had already offered to print these documents, implying they were just general information.

"Alright, alright. Once I'm done with this, I'll help you! Who told you to be my half-boss?"

This remark reminded Liu Sandao.

He was indeed Bai Suxiang's boss. Their original mission was to find the benevolent person, but to save Fu Ruhai, they had to shift their focus to a target that yielded no results. As it turned out, their efforts had led them both to work at Wuma Group.

Liu Sandao considered taking some time to find another target in Changyu City, but unfortunately, the Fortune Manual showed no reaction.

The key to the document room was kept by Zuo Ruxiu. Liu Sandao's cleaning duties were only for when it was time to open it, and typically, it didn't take long to clean. Zuo Ruxiu had set a strict time limit of five to ten minutes for him to complete the cleaning. Within such a timeframe, there was no opportunity to examine any documents.

In fact, this was of no use to Liu Sandao. The more restricted a company made access to information, the more it signaled the importance of the contents of its document room. However, no matter how important, a document room usually housed files, not all critical information.

Liu Sandao always recalled Cai Jinqu's expression when he picked up that seemingly ordinary piece of paper, a look of excitement as if he had discovered a new continent. Although everything was contained within the documents, the ultimate beneficiaries were certainly not among them. To ascertain these matters, they had to start with Yousu Technology. Data analysis was Bai Suxiang's forte.

To quickly gain an understanding of Yousu Technology, Liu Sandao took over Bai Suxiang's current work and instructed her to investigate Yousu Technology as soon as possible.

"Found it!"

Bai Suxiang finally finished her search and called out.

Liu Sandao quickly leaned in to look, only to have Bai Suxiang block his view of the computer screen.

"How do you plan to reward me?" Bai Suxiang asked with mock seriousness.

"The company is already paying you a salary. This is all part of your job duties," Liu Sandao said calmly, attempting to move Bai Suxiang aside.

Bai Suxiang stubbornly blocked him, saying, "No way! Do you know I strained every muscle and neuron in my body to find this for you?"

"Alright, alright. Tell me what you want, and I'll do it!"

Liu Sandao, not wanting to waste time on such trivial matters, conceded carelessly. To him, it was merely a matter of a meal; money was external, to be used.

"You promised! Don't go back on your word!"

"Alright, alright!"

Liu Sandao said without thinking. As soon as Bai Suxiang moved away from the computer, Liu Sandao turned his attention to the screen.

"So that's how it is!"

After reading everything, he understood. No wonder Cai Jinqu was so excited. He had likely intercepted some crucial information. But what would he do next? Would he succeed? Given his star rating, he didn't seem like a good person. Yet, Xiao Hai insisted he was the target. Could a two-star individual also achieve good deeds?

For an entire week, the company remained unusually calm, so much so that it felt almost unreal. Zuo Ruxiu's belly showed a noticeable change, and anyone would immediately recognize that she was pregnant. Consequently, many people avoided her. Even more would point and whisper, "That was a rocket-speed pregnancy!" "Yes! Little Li Zi is quite efficient!" "You don't know, they brought personal goods on board!" All sorts of gossip spread throughout the office building, though little of it reached Zuo Ruxiu's ears.

Little Li Zi was the security guard stand-in Zuo Ruxiu had hired. He was not tall and appeared somewhat slender. His face was quite unremarkable, with a complexion marred by blemishes. Xu Dachuan had decided to hire him because he seemed easy to handle and would be easily managed if any trouble arose. However, he failed to notice Little Li Zi's restless heart.

Perhaps he had heard too much gossip, or perhaps he had been plotting for some time. One phone call later, he reached Zuo Ruxiu's desk.

"Hello? Who is this?"

There was no response from the other end, just silence. Zuo Ruxiu grew impatient. She was busy, and even while pregnant, she had a lot of work to do. She didn't have time to waste on hold.

"Click!"

She hung up.

"Ring ring! Ring ring!"

The phone rang again.

"Hello? Who is it?"

"Me, I am... I am your husband!"

The voice on the phone sounded a bit timid, yet also aggressive. It was as if the caller feared she would hang up if they didn't finish quickly.

"Husband?"

Zuo Ruxiu was stunned. Her ex-husband? The voice didn't sound like him. Cai Rong was currently looking at files in his office. Who was this husband?

"Nonsense! You must have the wrong number!"

Zuo Ruxiu hung up the phone again.

"Ring ring! Ring ring! Ring ring!"

This time, Zuo Ruxiu didn't answer immediately. She had a task she hadn't finished and couldn't be distracted. But that damned phone kept ringing and ringing.

"Hello! Who are you? I told you I don't know you!"

"You may not know me, but you must know the agreement! Do you want me to post it at the company entrance?"

The voice on the other end seemed to have gained confidence, finally stating its point clearly.

Upon hearing "agreement," Zuo Ruxiu calmed down. For many days, although they were nominal spouses, besides the wedding ceremony, she hadn't visited the marital home. This was despite the fact that Cai Rong had bought it specifically for her.

"I'm very busy right now. We can talk about this later."

"Okay, when you're not busy, call me. I want to talk."

"Mmm."

Zuo Ruxiu hummed lightly and hung up. Talk? What was there to talk about? If anyone were to talk, it should be Xu Dachuan. She truly had nothing to say.

As soon as she finished her current task, she went specifically to Xu Dachuan's office. Xu Dachuan patted his chest and said, "Leave this to me. Can't I handle a mere Little Li Zi?" Seeing Zuo Ruxiu smile and walk away leisurely, Xu Dachuan immediately contacted the security department.
