The night passed without incident. The next morning, William, tidying his attire, joined Queen Arthur and the three Knights of the Round Table for a sumptuous breakfast.
Queen Arthur looked at William, her face etched with worry, and said, "My son, are you truly decided? If China reneges on its promise and decides to keep these resources, we will have no recourse."
William smiled calmly and replied, "Mother, we have no other option. They hold the cleaver and we are the fish on the chopping block. We can only gamble on China's integrity."
Lancelot, feigning ease, remarked, "See? His Royal Highness has learned a great deal from classic Chinese culture. It seems Young Master Lin's character is quite admirable."
William, who had been resolute, faltered slightly at Lancelot's words.
Queen Arthur, noticing William's tension, asked curiously, "My son, have you changed your mind?"
