Chapter 12 A Poor, Sanguine Vampire
The cold air and low pressure in the living room persisted, but at least the two culprits seemed unwilling to continue the war.
Hao Ren sighed and began to clean up the teapot that had been frozen into an ice lump (and cracked in the process). Looking at the wrecked coffee table, he felt that life was mostly like this: eight or nine times out of ten, things in life don't go as you wish, and the remaining one or two times are even worse…
But no matter what, Vivian and Lily seemed to believe each other’s stories. Well, maybe not completely, but at least they promised not to fight anymore – as long as the other didn't show any "horse's feet," they would temporarily recognize the other as a neutral unit.
This was the result of a whole hour of earnest persuasion, an hour of presenting facts, reasoning, and proclaiming righteousness. Hao Ren mustered his courage and used his authority as the landlord (if he had any) to the limit, barely managing to get the two inhuman girls to patiently listen to each other's explanations and prove their claims in their own ways: Lily proved that she hadn’t coerced the landlord by calling "Roll" to testify, and then showed Vivian her hand, indicating that there was no bloody aura on it, so she hadn't cursed Hao Ren. Vivian thought Lily was quite idiotic, so she decided to believe her; Vivian, in order to prove that she could restrain her bloodsucking, asked Hao Ren to rummage through the refrigerator for a box of duck blood tofu…
To be honest, Hao Ren felt that Vivian's method of proof was even less reliable than doing nothing, but miraculously, Lily actually believed it… this simpleton actually believed it, can you believe it?
Once everything had calmed down for the time being, Hao Ren finally had the opportunity to ask Vivian why she had come over this morning, because it was obvious that Vivian had been surprised when she first saw him, so she didn't seem to be specifically looking for someone.
Vivian nodded and took out a colorful piece of paper from a small bag she carried: "I came according to this address, I want to find a place to live."
Lily, who was next to him, repenting over the broken coffee table, immediately switched to werewolf form, and her pointed beast ears perked up: she had a strong and terrible premonition!
Hao Ren was also stunned. He took the paper and realized that it had been cut from a newspaper, and it was exactly the rental advertisement he had sent out a few days ago! How come it hadn't opened for business for over half a year, and now the business was coming one after another?
But why were all the people who came to rent a house not normal people!
"Uh… this address is correct," Hao Ren said with a strange expression, wondering where his life had gone wrong. He looked Vivian up and down, "You're here to rent a house?"
"Yes," Vivian nodded repeatedly.
Hao Ren asked stupidly, "Why specifically here…"
What he meant was why such abnormal events would happen to him, but Vivian obviously misunderstood. The vampire girl blinked, "Because it's very cheap here, I don't have any money, and after searching for a long time, only I can afford to live here – I really don't want to live in ruins or graveyards in the wilderness like before."
Hao Ren's mouth was slightly open and didn't close, and he was surprised by the vampire girl's frankness and state of life: Weren't vampires supposed to be elegant nobles in the darkness, how did this one end up like this?
"It's really cheap here, if you're not afraid of being out of the way, just live here," Hao Ren nodded after a few seconds of stunned silence, a wry smile on his lips. Anyway, a flea bite doesn't itch, and a debt doesn't weigh you down. There's already a werewolf, and his life in the foreseeable future is probably already abnormal, so an extra vampire is fine, consider it adding color to life, "But I have to explain one thing in advance, you can't cause trouble… of course, I won't tell anyone about you and Lily, I'm afraid you'll kill me to silence me."
Speaking of killing to silence him, Hao Ren wasn't too worried: The two inhuman girls in front of him were obviously different from those in legends. Regardless of whether they were aliens in their respective groups, at least here, they seemed quite safe.
However, just as Hao Ren and Vivian were about to come to an agreement, Lily suddenly slammed the table and stood up: "Wait a minute! This winged rat is going to live here too? Under the same roof as me?" Look at how slow she is.
With a crash, the coffee table, which had already been slammed with a bunch of cracks, finally gave way.
"Do you think I want to live with a beast?!" Vivian was also quite angry, but at least she still remembered the ceasefire agreement she had promised before, and didn't release cold air indiscriminately, "If I wasn't almost broke, who would come here!"
Hao Ren suddenly felt that perhaps rejecting Vivian was the right thing to do: Letting this werewolf and vampire live under the same roof was obviously going to be deadly, right? Their tempers didn't seem like they could really abide by the ceasefire agreement! And he didn't lack this rent…
But he had already nodded just now, and it didn't seem appropriate to suddenly change his mind at this time, so he could only try to appease Lily, who looked unhappy: "It's okay, it's okay, I don't think Vivian seems like a bad person, I already promised her… let her live here first… hey, wait! I'm the landlord here, this is my house! Why am I discussing this with you?!"
Hao Ren finally remembered this at the last moment: This was his own territory, when did these two inhuman girls become like heads of the household?
He could only attribute this to the fact that the presence of these two powerful figures was simply unusually high, and under the impact of a series of chaotic events, his own not-so-outstanding brain was already a little confused.
Lily also smiled sheepishly. This werewolf girl, who was completely different from the legends and surprisingly easy to talk to, shrank her neck and nodded: "Then you make the decision, but I still don't like this winged one."
"That's more like it." Hao Ren nodded with his arms crossed, while planning how to make these two new tenants, who didn't look normal no matter how you looked at them, live in harmony in the future… Living in harmony was impossible, just how to avoid them demolishing the house as much as possible would be fine. In fact, he was already somewhat afraid of this chaotic life. If he could, he really wanted to ask the two great gods in the house to leave now, but there were two problems: First of all, the two superwomen were not easy to offend. Although they seemed to be very easy to talk to, if he rashly drove people away without a good reason, there would probably be problems. Hao Ren didn't dare to take this risk; secondly, Hao Ren felt that he couldn't beat either of the two superwomen. If his language power didn't work at that time, he would be completely caught blind, and he would be in a dilemma.
In summary, the above two reasons can actually be summarized into one: How the hell can a human negotiate with two monster girls!
But no matter how tangled he was, he still wanted to do his best to slightly maintain his "normal" life, which was about to come to an end, and just as he was thinking about it, an almost earth-shattering exclamation suddenly came from the side.
"Ah! My wallet!"
Vivian almost jumped up from the sofa. This vampire girl could usually barely maintain a bit of elegant temperament, but now that bit of elegant temperament had vanished: Her wallet was gone.
"It must have been last night… I was dizzy from being hit by this bastard last night, I don't know where my wallet fell!" Vivian rummaged through her body and her small bag for a long time, and finally looked at Lily with a desperate and resentful expression, "You stupid dog! That's my last bit of living expenses! You pay me!"
Lily's face was slightly embarrassed, but she still turned her face away: "If you don't have the ability, don't blame others. It's good that you don't have money to rent a house, I don't have to look at your stupid face anymore."
But after a while, she still turned her head back: "Go to the door and the nearby streets to see? Maybe it fell on the road."
The fact proved that this simpleton werewolf's heart was actually surprisingly good.
"I flew far away yesterday to find a place with bright moonlight to recover my strength," Vivian said with a weeping face, "How would I know where I dropped my things… Wuwu, my last living expenses, my living expenses that I saved for a long time… I lost money four times this month, this is the last bit!"
Hao Ren's eyebrows twitched: How did this vampire end up so miserable?! What happened to the noble of the night?
But soon he realized another great thing: It seemed that he didn't have to worry about facing a werewolf x vampire war in the future, now he had a sufficient reason to let Vivian leave.
Maintaining peace is the only way, right?
(Okay, this is a double update…)
