Chapter 530 Void Node
Hao Ren divided the source blood sample into several portions, all sealed in metal tubes designed for long-term preservation of living specimens. After pushing aside the outer shell of the metal tube, one could see the bright red liquid sealed in a transparent crystal vial. The bizarre, living red liquid surged slowly, giving a feeling somewhat similar to the blood tide that once permeated the eldest son, but the difference was that the source blood exhibited more gentle characteristics, completely unlike the eldest son’s violent blood tide.
If one directly touched the source blood with their skin, they could even feel a reassuring warmth permeating through, like the mother of life.
Raven 12345 looked at the liquid in the container with interest, “A living sample? Where did you get this?”
“The Radiant Church. They say their founding pope collected it from the place where the eldest son slumbered. It’s the liquid left behind by the First Seed, and theoretically should be the thing most closely related to the Goddess of the Dream Plane. Furthermore, the Radiant Church uses this to bless their newly promoted clerics. After being inoculated with the source blood, ordinary people can gain various strange abilities, and it’s said they can even communicate with the Goddess.”
“Communicate with the Goddess?” Raven 12345 raised an eyebrow. “But according to the information I have… the information response of that creation goddess has already collapsed. There’s a very high possibility she’s already transformed into some kind of fragmented state and is slumbering in the depths of the universe. Who are they communicating with?”
“Heaven knows,” Hao Ren shrugged. “Anyway, according to the Big Beard’s account, pious believers will hear the voice of the Goddess in their minds after being inoculated, and can even learn knowledge from the Goddess when praying – it’s said that a third of the Radiant Church’s divine術 (shénshù, divine arts) system was created out of thin air in this state of near ‘revelation’ and ‘divine inspiration’.”
“Interesting,” Raven 12345’s lips curled slightly. She fiddled with the sample container, then placed her other hand above the container. Some pale blue sparks danced between her fingers. “But I can’t feel anything… something must still be missing, or maybe the information it contains is too weak and is being covered by my power. Perhaps I need to study it.”
Afterwards, Hao Ren handed Raven 12345 a tissue sample of the “Progenitor of Life.” He would also be responsible for researching these samples, and handing a portion to her now was for backup purposes. After completing these handover tasks, Hao Ren remembered something else, “Oh, right, there’s something else…”
He took out a metal storage box from his dimensional pocket. A holographic projection screen above the metal storage box displayed a line of text: Tanagus Civilization, Complete Data, Pending Encoding.
“We’ve already unlocked the truth behind one of the aberrations, the Angry Spirits,” Hao Ren handed the storage box to Raven 12345. “They come from a planet called Tanagus, which is already extinct. The reason for their extinction was the eldest son destroying the world. This is all their data.”
“A tombstone, eh…” Raven 12345 looked at the silvery white storage box, her temperament finally becoming serious. For the first time, she revealed a kind of indescribable, holy, and compassionate feeling, as if she were a true goddess. She bent down and stroked the cold outer shell of the storage box, seemingly talking to herself and to Hao Ren, “So you’ve finally come into contact with this as well.”
“This is the last thing that needs to be handed over,” Hao Ren temporarily put aside the strange feeling in his heart and looked at the storage box containing all the data of the Tanagus civilization. “Where will this be sent? Will it be stored together with other similar things?”
“There’s a special place to store these kinds of relics,” Raven 12345 nodded. “It will be properly taken care of, and the data inside will be transferred to an infinitely large database. This civilization will not be forgotten. Since it left a trace, the Empire will be responsible for remembering it.”
Hao Ren nodded, pulled the still somewhat stunned Nangong Sanba, as well as “Gungnir,” who was snoring on the ground, and turned to leave this wondrous mountain floating in the universe.
Raven 12345 paused for a moment, then turned back to continue looking at the brilliant starlight she had been staring at earlier.
The distant and magnificent cosmic starry sky was still shining brightly, seemingly trying its best to show its most beautiful side to this god standing at the peak of the stars. The flickering starlight outlined various wondrous pictures, appearing brilliant and demonstrating the majestic and vast beauty of the universe.
However, in the reflection of Raven 12345’s eyes, those dazzling starlight were dissected into wisps and strands, revealing the deep truths hidden beneath the surface. The power of a god allowed her to directly observe the unknown parts of this universe, the dimensions beyond mortal comprehension, and the structures that only mathematical formulas could describe unfolded before her eyes, revealing all secrets. Beneath the starlight, fine cracks were spreading.
Near the boundary of the universe, ripples were forming. In some extremely distant deep-space areas, where most mortal races might never set foot, the physical laws of the real world were resisting some kind of erosion from another world. A terrifying behemoth hidden beneath the real world was trying to break free from its bonds, and was already showing initial results. If there were intelligent beings living in those remote and cold star regions, perhaps they would see an unbelievable anomaly appearing in the starry sky above their heads, and the cosmic background radiation they could observe would distinctly show two forms.
It was as if two universes were superimposed on top of them at the same time.
Raven 12345’s eyes reflected the dark and grotesque shadows at the edge of the universe. Some phenomena would take tens of billions of years to be transmitted to this place through conventional light speed, but she could see everything now.
“The border region has already started to become chaotic,” Raven 12345 breathed out and narrowed her eyes slightly. The chaotic “true starlight” and strange cracks quickly returned to their original positions, and the small chaos occurring at the edge of the universe was quickly suppressed by her. “Tsk, the cycle is getting shorter and shorter.”
Then, she snapped her fingers, and a small world gate opened beside her. At the same time, a blue humanoid creature emerged from the air.
Raven 12345 pointed to the silver storage box next to her, “Take this.”
The arcane servant silently shouldered the storage box and followed Raven 12345 into the world gate.
Passing through this gate, Raven 12345 arrived at a special place. This was a void node located outside of many universes. It did not belong to any one world, but was an eternal space created by the Xiling (Hellen) God System in the void. Each node shone like a lighthouse in the void, illuminating hundreds and thousands of universes, like a server on the Internet.
Due to differences in model, void nodes also came in various forms. The void node that Raven 12345 was affiliated with was a continent floating in the vast darkness. In its center was a management hub as huge as a towering pagoda, while in other parts of the continent one could see mountains, rivers, and magnificent silvery white towers. The entire continent had lush forests and snowy white snowfields, shaped like a complete world. If one did not leave this land, perhaps no one would think that outside this “world” was a void.
Raven 12345 and the arcane servant stood on the central management hub tower of the entire continent. Here, there was a series of observation platforms that could view the entire space. She looked east and saw a few small black dots wandering in the air. Those were crude flying machines driven by steel and magic導 (dǎo, guidance) power, clearly not made by the Xiling God System.
This type of void node was so vast that its habitable area was even like a planet. Therefore, the administrators here had created a batch of residents on the continent. After years of development, these residents had already established their own kingdoms and civilizations in the corners of the Xiling God Clan’s lighthouse.
A girl wearing a white dress appeared on the observation platform and said casually beside Raven 12345, “The Kingdom of Nimrod is challenging the sky again. They’re very interested in the scenery outside the ‘world.’ The several tribal states in the northern snowfields have just completed a unification war. They seem to have suddenly figured things out and are learning Nimrod’s magic導 (dǎo, guidance) technology.”
“Are they developing a little too fast?” Raven 12345 blinked. “I only created them to make the node continent more lively. I didn’t expect them to be so talented?”
“Don’t underestimate their potential. After all, they were created by the Empire. How can they be useless?” the white-skirted girl said with a smile. “And there’s also good news. A few days ago, the Duchy of Sanlan sent an expedition to the ‘Tower of the Celestial Gods’ in the center of the continent. They seem to have become interested in the essence of this world, a bunch of super curious guys. Maybe they’ll find the entrance here soon.”
“Fina, when are you going to tell them about the situation of this world and the things outside the world?” Raven 12345 glanced at the other party. “They have to grow up eventually. You can’t always treat them like children.”
“Just wait a little longer, until someone figures out the mass-energy formula,” Fina waved her hand. “But what about you? How come you have time to show your face here? Isn’t it good to be an earth emperor?”
“I still have to work,” Raven 12345 patted the storage box in the arcane servant’s hand. “It’s for the third sample library.”
Fina frowned. “Could it be a ‘tombstone’?”
“Unfortunately, it is a tombstone. Another civilization has died young.”
