Chapter 1482 Hao Ren's Style of Breakthrough

Countless undead creatures roamed the plains.

Fragile, swaying skeletons, rotting, stinking zombies, swollen, pieced-together mixed corpses, and hollow, pale specters, millions upon millions, boundless and endless—they were not only humans, but also beasts and livestock sent to the underworld for various reasons. In this bizarre world filled with the power of death, whether they were kind or cruel, dangerous or harmless in life, they could not escape the influence of large-scale necromantic magic, their memories and thoughts washed away, turning them into muddled, wandering corpses, instinctively hostile to the living.

And these corpses had not accumulated overnight—since the Olympus "gods" created the underworld, and Hades, the master of death, began to rule this land, countless dead have been collected over the millennia, becoming part of Tartarus.

Souls were drawn out to fuel the underworld's three power furnaces, and the surplus energy supplied the daily consumption of Mount Olympus, while the bodies were preserved, becoming the monsters wandering the plains.

This shocking "underworld" was enough to challenge the limits of imagination in every human's most terrifying nightmare.

A staggering flesh giant, three or four meters tall, walked past Lily with heavy steps. The flesh giant's festering, stinking arm, dripping with venom, brushed against a strand of hair on her forehead as it swung. The husky girl didn't dare breathe—she wasn't afraid of the flesh giant itself, because even in her relatively weak form, she could smash any undead creature on this plain. What she feared was the countless animated corpses lurking around the flesh giant, a number that could send her, even at her peak, scrambling in all directions.

She could take on a hundred, but here the number of enemies reached millions.

The flesh giant didn't react at all. This undead monster, pieced together from multiple corpses, shook its swollen, deformed head and continued to lumber away.

Although she didn't want to admit it, the little bat spirit's magic seemed to be quite effective.

Little Heiress Annelise, walking between Lily and Hasu, constantly looked at the "Heiress Way sister" walking in front, her bright eyes filled with undisguised envy and admiration. The little girl had no idea that it was herself many years later, and simply regarded her as her powerful sister. Perhaps in the little girl's eyes, "Heiress Way sister" had become her idol.

But Heiress Annelise herself didn't relax her expression at all.

The Copper Palace was close at hand, but in this dangerous place, she absolutely couldn't relax until the very last step.

Hasu's hand rested on the holy silver longsword at his waist, his voice low: "The surrounding undead are obviously a higher level."

As they approached Hades' palace, the surrounding wandering undead became more powerful. Even with the naked eye, one could see the difference between them and the "fringe dwellers." The undead near the Copper Palace were stronger, more complete, and even had faint magical fluctuations emanating from them: in the past millennia, Hades' magic had constantly leaked from the Copper Palace. Although not the intention of the Lord of the Underworld, this energy still substantially strengthened the undead near the Copper Palace.

However, although the quality had risen a level, these undead were still not enough to see through the Blood Sky Curtain barrier set up by Heiress Annelise.

A rustling sound suddenly came from nearby, startling Lily, who was carefully making her way forward. She turned her head and saw a tall skeleton struggling to climb out of a large pit blasted open by magical power not far away. The guy's original bones should have been scattered, but now, as it continued to climb out of the pit, new bones flew up from the bottom of the pit as if attracted by magnetism, connecting to the skeleton's spine with cracking sounds.

"The closer you get to Hades' palace, the more power the King of Hell has left behind," Hasu explained in a low voice. "Before these remaining forces completely dissipate, they will continue to resurrect those monsters that were originally shattered by the demon hunters... I'm very worried about the situation inside the Copper Palace. I hope the most troublesome guys are dead for good."

Heiress Annelise casually said: "As long as Hades is completely dead, that's all that matters."

"Then you can rest assured," Hasu's mouth twitched, as if trying to force a smile on his emotionless face. "Five holy silver longswords through his chest, nailing him to the Wailing Wall. I don't think that guy can come back to life unless Hao Ren's boss personally takes action."

Heiress Annelise frowned: "Hao Ren... speaking of which, what happened to that guy?"

Even Lily, with her carefree nature, was a little worried at this time. She glanced back at the direction from which the last few explosions came. There was still some fighting going on in that direction, but perhaps because the distance was too far, only a little bit of noise from the battle reached this side: "He should be fine... but it's strange. The noise is so small, it doesn't fit the landlord's usual style."

Little Heiress Annelise grabbed Lily's sleeve nervously: "Did that brother have an accident?"

"Don't worry, that guy has a hard life. He won't die even if the world is destroyed," Heiress Annelise curled her lips. "The Copper Palace is just ahead. Let's be careful and not make any mistakes in these last few steps."

Everything went smoothly without any surprises.

The undead wandering outside the Copper Palace were, after all, mindless beings with low perception. Heiress Annelise and Lily carefully bypassed the last wandering skeleton giant and finally stepped safely into the main gate of the Copper Palace. This once-indestructible, towering fortress had been blasted open by the demon hunters. The heavy metal gate on the Copper Palace's first wall had been melted by holy flames, tearing open in a radial pattern, revealing a hole large enough for hundreds of people to pass through side by side. Heiress Annelise breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that the last person had stepped through the gate: once they were here, there was no need to worry about the monsters wandering outside.

Although there might be resurrected undead in the Copper Palace, they would be much easier to deal with in terms of numbers. In addition, the demon hunters had focused on sweeping this underworld temple, using a large amount of holy water and divine magic when they fought here. The undead resurrected here should be quite rare.

Lily stopped at the gate and looked back at the situation on the plains: "The landlord should be coming..."

"We'll wait for him here," Heiress Annelise said. "If there's still no movement after thirty minutes, I'll send a few clones to check the situation."

"I really don't know how he plans to cross this sea of undead," Hasu frowned. "There are too many of them. Even if we opened the way with artillery, it would take days to blast a passage..."

Heiress Annelise crossed her arms: "God knows what that guy is thinking. Anyway, he always has a bunch of weird tricks to solve problems. Let's see if he can give us a surprise this time..."

The surprise the little bat spirit was guessing did exist, and it came soon.

After they waited for a while, and were starting to get impatient, a strange whistling roar suddenly came from the sky on the other side of the plains.

Heiress Annelise looked up in the direction of the sound and saw a bright flame tearing through the dark sky of Tartarus, flying quickly towards the Copper Palace!

The little bat spirit exclaimed: "Holy crap... what is that?!"

Lily's eyes widened: "What is that? Is that a plane? Is that Superman? That... that freaking is... is a missile, ahhh!!"

That's right, a missile spitting bright flames was tearing through the dark sky, rushing towards the gate of the Copper Palace at an astonishing speed. Under the super-strong dynamic vision of everyone on the scene, they quickly saw every detail of the missile—every stabilizing wing, every auxiliary nozzle, every painted mark, and Hao Ren riding near the missile's nose, waving his hands vigorously.

The ghosts floating in mid-air in the underworld were alarmed. They let out crazy screams, swarming towards Hao Ren in the air like semi-transparent storms. However, most of them couldn't keep up with the speed of a missile in subsonic acceleration. Eighty percent of the ghosts were left behind, and only a small part, because of their tricky positions, had no way to avoid it. They slammed into Hao Ren solidly.

A milky white halo shone on Hao Ren, and most of the attacks were dissolved by this light.

"Oh oh oh—I'm coming!!!"

Hao Ren shouted at Heiress Annelise and the others with a shout amplified by mental power. Even though he was riding on a missile flying at subsonic speed, his voice still reached the ground without any change in pitch.

The little bat spirit was now terrified, sweating profusely: "Turn! Turn! You... you your grandpa's hurry up and turn!!"

"Too much wind, can't hear—"

Little bat spirit: "I! #¥@#@%¥@#"

But Hao Ren was just scaring her. Just as the missile was about to hit the main gate of the Copper Palace, Hao Ren had already flipped over and jumped off the missile. The moment he left the "vehicle," he kicked the warhead hard in mid-air: "Go you!!"

The missile abruptly made a turn in mid-air, and before it could readjust its flight attitude, it had slammed heavily into a depression near the Copper Palace.

With a earth-shattering explosion in the depression, Hao Ren also drew a long parabola in the air, crashing into the ground in a very, very ungraceful posture, and plowing a long trench on the ground due to inertia. Smoke and dust immediately filled the air in front of Heiress Annelise and the others.

After the dust cleared, Hao Ren was half-kneeling in the big pit at the end of the trench like a thinker, a much dimmed shield of light flickering around him.

Everyone: "..."

Half a minute later, Hao Ren moved his body, shedding a layer of dust, and a series of crackling sounds came from his joints, which made him grimace: "Crap... indeed, mental calculation is not as good as machine calculation... jumped too early..."

Heiress Annelise stood at the edge of the pit with her hands on her hips, her face changed: "This is your plan?!"

"The landing part was a little different from the plan, but the other parts were according to plan!" Hao Ren gave a thumbs up. "I said, this plan can only be used when I'm alone!"
