Chapter 201, Part 4_1

Chapter 201: Chapter 201, Part 4_1

The assistant was somewhat surprised. Peng Fenglai wasn’t actually angered.

This year, Peng Fenglai was thirty-seven years old, almost in her forties in other people’s eyes. She sat in front of a mirror, personally drawing her eyebrows. She was quite attractive, with dignified features, delicate eyebrows, and red lips. After becoming a UR-Level Spirit Card Master, one could hardly see any signs of aging on her—a woman in the prime of her beauty. Anyone who became a UR-Level Spirit Card Master at her age would be proud and elated.

Having finished with her eyebrows, Peng Fenglai said, "I knew she wouldn’t come."

The assistant was even more surprised and couldn’t help asking, "You knew beforehand? But why wouldn’t she come?"

The assistant couldn’t understand. At the very least, as one of the five esteemed individuals of Yunxia, Peng Fenglai’s requests, as long as they were not excessive, had never been refused before. Especially from a mere A-Level Spirit Card Master. No matter how talented, an A-Level Spirit Card Master was still just that—A-Level. How could they possibly compare to Peng Fenglai?

Peng Fenglai didn’t say much, only let out a scoffing chuckle. "They want me to be the one to lose face."

It didn’t seem to be directed at Wen Jiang, but she quickly added, "However, that girl is indeed interesting. I was friends with her father back in the day, and both sentimentally and rationally, I should be the one visiting her home..."

She paused, not caring if the assistant understood, and continued, "Check my schedule. Once her competition is over, find a free time for me, and I will visit the Jimo Family."

The assistant’s eyes widened but still complied, saying, "Alright."

On Wen Jiang’s side, Zero Egg was also surprised. "What does Peng Fenglai want with you?"

"Who knows." Wen Jiang didn’t care much. "I can’t be bothered with other people’s business."

Her gaze swept over the System tasks. The objective to reach the top fifteen hadn’t shown any progress yet. Getting the championship would complete the key fragment task. However, the easiest task—obtaining the ten Yunxia civilization cards—had not progressed. Only three had been acknowledged. Furthermore, the Four Heavenly Kings and Su Daji cards, which hadn’t been certified on the official website, were not recognized by the broken System.

Now, with stories like Liao Zhai and others already assigned to her Spirit Card Masters for research, it was time for her to create new cards. After all, she needed to ascend to S Rank after the competition, so she had to start planning now.

After some thought, she discarded the idea of creating another Investiture of the Gods themed card set, leaving that system for Mount Flower to exploit for backdoor cards. For her public card set, it was more appropriate to create something different.

Wen Jiang soon thought of a suitable story: Journey to the West.

This story was almost universally known in Yunxia. Although it was a novel from a later period, it didn’t exist in the current era. Its widespread legacy was unmatched, and the character of Sun Wukong had a profound impact on several generations in Yunxia. Most importantly, Journey to the West contained a group of characters that Wen Jiang particularly liked—Demon Kind!

The entire story of Journey to the West was a paradise for Dual-Change Cards.

Right now, Wen Jiang wouldn’t touch Brother Monkey. She didn’t want to tarnish Brother Monkey’s reputation. With its fame, it was more than deserving of an SSR card, but that still depended on how her actual cards would turn out. Sometimes, Wen Jiang could not guarantee a card’s rank. So, at this stage, she wouldn’t create Sun Wukong. There were so many other options.

Speaking of demons, Wen Jiang also had an idea for the fourth act of the comic.

Previously, the birth of Divine Beasts and the godly humans created by Nvwa were briefly mentioned. As the human population increased, friction was inevitable. For instance, due to varying degrees of favor from Heaven and Earth, some Divine Beasts seized the fortune of creation and were born invincible. In contrast, some godly humans had to struggle and cultivate, which bred resentment.

Conflicts and grudges arose among the godly humans, and when the Divine Beasts were dragged into the mix, a great war erupted. This war left over half of the godly humans injured and even tore a colossal hole in the world originally crafted by Pangu.

After creating the godly humans, Nvwa also created ordinary humans without any power, entrusting the godly humans to lead them and initiate an era of human civilization. Initially, humans could even contact the gods via a gigantic pillar that propped up the sky. This pillar was called Mount Buzhou.

Different gods led various human tribes, but later, conflicts grew increasingly intense over factors like contributions and faith. Eventually, a world war broke out. During the battle between the water god Gonggong and the fire god Zhurong, Mount Buzhou collapsed due to their clash. The sky itself tore open, the world underwent vast changes, multiple disasters struck, floods erupted, and finally, Nvwa was alerted.

After mending the sky and restoring the world, Nvwa, being a compassionate creator god, deemed the existence of godly humans detrimental to the continuation of human civilization. Therefore, she ultimately divided the spatial regions, separating them into the Six Realms.

After that, different godly humans and Divine Beasts established various regimes. Gods, Demons, Devils, Buddhas, the Underworld, and Humans—the Six Realms were formed. Except for the Human Realm, the other five realms were forbidden by Nvwa’s decree from entering the Human World.

Having done all this, Nvwa set a seal on the entire planet and left this universe.

The Five Realms belonged to the descendants of godly humans and Divine Beasts, who possessed long lifespans. Once they cultivated to a certain extent, they could break through the restrictions set by Nvwa, ascend to true godhood, and leave the planet. But within the planet, their curiosity towards humans couldn’t be contained; there were always rule-breaking beings who wanted to enter the Human Realm. Moreover, the traces left by the godly humans and Divine Beasts continued to be passed down in the Human Realm.

Many years later, as the seal’s strength weakened, beings accidentally entered the Human Realm, and the Six Realms re-established contact with humans. This commenced an era of splendid civilizational and cultural blossoming.

The comic wasn’t exactly a traditional Yunxia mythological tale. She had modified it slightly to incorporate more characters and create a coherent narrative logic, as this was precisely what Yunxia needed now. The more stories that could be turned into cards, the better; a mishmash of different versions would only hinder their effectiveness.

This Chapter also contained a significant amount of information. For instance, she had already made cards for the Demon Race. After sending over the fourth Chapter, Yan Moling quickly sent a message.

"The fourth Chapter is out already?"

Compared to the third Chapter, the information in the fourth Chapter was even more startling for Yan Moling. Just by seeing the division of the Six Realms, she understood the immense implications. Strictly speaking, the Shark People Card she had created belonged to the Demon Kind, and that was just one of its branches.

"Yes." With the new comic drawn, Wen Jiang was in a good mood. "What comes next will be much simpler to draw."

It was necessary to first introduce the concept of a mythological civilization to pave the way for the different versions that would follow, such as Journey to the West and Investiture of the Gods.

Yan Moling recalled the matters she and Teacher Li had discussed and the results of her investigations. She paused for a moment, then said, "Wen Jiang, it’s best if you don’t publicize your cards in the future."

They had not only investigated all the cards made by Wen Jiang but also discovered something they had previously overlooked. Mount Flower was currently selling the most popular historical figure Card Spirits. They had tried many methods but had failed to create historical figure Card Spirits. Only Wen Jiang had succeeded.
