Chapter 128: 128 Yunxia Civilization, so terrifying_1
Several competitors were young and hot-blooded. Hearing those words would definitely make them angry.
In the past, Tang Qian would have felt distressed after hearing this. After all, foreign competitors had directly taunted them like this for many years, countless times.
But this time, Tang Qian merely glanced at Wen Jiang, saw the faint smile on her lips unchanged, and felt unusually calm inside.
Tang Qian spoke calmly, "Shi Qi, you’d better not curse people like that when you’re outside."
Shi Qi shrugged, "I know, it’s just that I can’t stand this son of a bitch."
Dou Yuan also cursed, "Damn it, that guy definitely needs to encounter us. Just wait until Jiang Shen beats the shit out of him."
...
Ruan Chunen frowned slightly. "Recently, there’s been a lot of talk stirring up opinions about that Card Maker. Many people feel it was a mistake for her to release the cards."
Chen Runyu glanced at Wen Jiang and countered, "Everyone has their own reasons. Maybe she simply wanted to do a good thing."
There’s no need to praise me so highly.
"Speaking of the new cards," Shi Qi, the assassin, offered a different interpretation. "Do you guys still remember the background stories of the Four Heavenly Kings? I actually think this Card Maker really wants to promote Yunxia civilization. I’m interested in the stories of the cards, but they’re too brief. I feel each card’s background contains an extremely complex story. Have you seen Su Daji’s introduction?"
"She’s known as the calamitous queen of the Shang Dynasty. We indeed had the Shang Dynasty in our history, but records are scant, and there are no rumors of Su Daji."
Wen Jiang raised her eyebrows slightly.
Regarding the story of the Yunxia civilization, few knew the true details aside from people like Yan Moling from the Empire. The public at large, however, was still focused on card strength and lacked the great imaginative capacity for the background stories.
Because it was too short.
A few brief stories weren’t enough to outline a lost, grand civilization. What they needed was a worldview completely presented before them.
And this was precisely what Wen Jiang couldn’t rush to achieve at the moment.
Because she couldn’t make that many cards.
Dou Yuan was obviously not as focused on the background. "This Card Maker has a strong imagination, being able to match each card with a corresponding background story. No wonder the strength of her cards is so formidable."
These words from Dou Yuan suddenly stirred something in Wen Jiang.
She suddenly said, "All this time, it seems I’ve fallen into a misconception."
Zero Egg hurriedly asked, "What misconception?"
Without thinking much else, Wen Jiang seriously reviewed herself. "I’ve overlooked the importance of the lost civilization to their entire Empire. Previously, when making cards, I thought that once the cultural background was made public, people from other countries would also know. However, people from other countries, lacking the corresponding social background, cannot understand the concepts within those mythological stories."
"And my cards are too strong, which only makes people focus on their strength itself. By the time I slowly unveil the background stories one by one, I will waste too much time, and also waste talent."
Zero Egg was puzzled, "What talent?"
Wen Jiang said, "The civilization I rely on is very precious, but it belongs to everyone. Yunxia needs its overall strength to be powerful. Without a story background, those Card Makers who willingly imitate my cards and try to make their own will find it hard to understand my thoughts."
Wen Jiang continued, "The performance of the Yunxia Empire so far satisfies me; they are just as I had imagined them."
They are a recreated version of the previous world; even after a thousand years, certain intrinsic beliefs won’t change.
Handing it over to them, she should be at ease.
So Wen Jiang stood up and said, "I’m going to make a phone call."
Tang Qian and others gave an OK gesture.
Zero Egg was still puzzled. Meanwhile, Wen Jiang reached out to Yan Moling. "Got a deal for you, interested?"
Yan Moling’s tone was relaxed, "What kind of deal?"
Any deal Wen Jiang was willing to make was unlikely to be harmful to the Empire.
Wen Jiang said, "So far, I think the level of trust between us is sufficient. You provide me with a section on the official card website, and I will gradually restore and compile the world I’ve dreamt of. This will fill in the blank periods for Yunxia’s mythical civilization. Of course, I won’t provide any evidence to prove it, and you can choose not to believe me."
"However, the cards made inspired by these stories, no matter which nobility creates them, must belong to the Empire. They must be public cards, available for purchase by everyone."
As for the Mount Flower cards she made, those were her own special privilege.
They can resent it, but if they do, they’ll just have to keep it to themselves.
Yan Moling was suddenly struck by disbelief, a wave of breathlessness washing over her.
This breathlessness stemmed from a joy so sudden it felt almost too good to be true.
Yan Moling’s voice trembled, "Are you really willing to reveal the world in your dreams?"
Wen Jiang curled her lips, "Yes, I am willing."
Moreover, she made cards differently from others. She had a hunch that even if people saw the images from the Classic of Mountains and Seas or the portraits of Immortals she drew, they might not necessarily be able to create the corresponding cards.
But only when the shadows of civilization began to sprout would Yunxia truly witness revolutionary reforms.
Yan Moling said, "I can promise you right now that this is absolutely feasible. As for how to proceed specifically, I’ll discuss it with the leaders. Besides, you have a competition coming up soon, so prioritize that. Your strength is formidable, and Yunxia currently needs a champion to prove itself."
Wen Jiang chuckled lightly, "You’re so confident in me. Fine, let me know after you’ve discussed it."
Yan Moling tried to suppress the excitement in her heart, "Alright."
And she could cunningly take a shortcut.
Anything Wen Jiang was going to write certainly required the Empire’s review beforehand, since they couldn’t guarantee that what she wrote would be normal. Yan Moling could ensure it was first shown to the Card Maker experts within the country before releasing it to the public.
At least the experts would get a head start.
After hearing everything, Zero Egg was shocked. "You mean to say, you plan to release all the stories that inspired your card making?"
Wen Jiang replied, "I’ll only release one main thread of mythological civilization. I can’t write out all those complex minor details."
The focus would be on a few key things: the creation myths of Yunxia, the Celestial Court of Yunxia, the Taoist Sect, leading up to the Last Dharma World, and then some additional images of deities, along with a complete Classic of Mountains and Seas.
She wasn’t a professional; she’d write about whatever came to mind.
These stories were rooted in her mind, but for the current Yunxia People, the concepts were not deeply ingrained; at most, they might treat it like a serialized story.
Only by creating more and more cards could she prove the importance and authenticity of these mythological civilizations.
Things better heat up quickly; that’s the only way I can have some real fun.
Zero Egg was in anguish. "But wouldn’t that be letting others steal your business? We’ve only finished three task cards. What if others make them first? What then?"
Wen Jiang sneered. "Let me put it this way: the inspirations for my cards are just branches of some minor civilization stories. To make enough cards for something like the Moon Palace Card Set, you’d need millions, not just hundreds of thousands. Even if I were a host of the Heaven’s Mandate System lazing around for twenty years, I couldn’t finish them all."
Zero Egg inhaled sharply. "This Yunxia civilization is that terrifying!"
It’s enough to completely overwhelm and overhaul every existing card in this world!
