Master Luo Yu

Chapter 202 - 202 - Renaming the Dagger

With the mummy's shriek, countless vampires converged upon the small town. They perched on the surrounding buildings, staring greedily at Chu Feng in mid-air, howling angrily, ready to pounce at any moment.

Chu Feng, however, paid no attention to the surrounding vampires. They possessed the strength of mere ants and weren't even Vampire Barons. His attention was wholly fixed on the pitch-black, curved dagger in the hands of the de Nocte Family patriarch below. It was that very dagger that had just ignored the protection of the Golden Light Spell and left a shallow cut on his face. Had he not dodged quickly enough, that dagger might have pierced his neck just moments before.

Noticing Chu Feng's gaze, the mummy below contorted its withered face into a twisted sneer. "Don't recognize it, do you? The Holy See's memory is truly poor! Back then, it nearly killed the Angel you all speak of."

The mummy's fingers gently caressed the black blade of the dagger as if lovingly caressing a lover. "It's called Fallen Paradise, a name I chose specially for it. Do you like it?"

The mummy's tone was filled with contempt for The Holy See. Even the weapon's name blasphemed their faith, a clear indication that its vendetta against them would only end with one side's utter destruction.

"Enough prattle! These are just useless words!"

The light of the Soul Suppressing Saber Technique flashed. A thunderous boom followed, and a deep ravine appeared in the ruins of the church.

"No Holy Power? You're not from The Holy See!" From within the ravine, the mummy's raspy voice contained a hint of shock, but it didn't affect its counter-attack.

The dark gleam appeared again, and in just the blink of an eye, it had already reached Chu Feng's chest.

CLANG!

A clear metallic collision sounded, and the Demon Hunting Blade Chu Feng held across his chest knocked away the incoming darkness. Before the dagger could strike again, Chu Feng's figure had already plunged into the ravine, raising his saber, poised to split the mummy-like vampire in half.

SWISH!

The mummy-like vampire reacted just half a beat too slow. One of its withered arms was cleanly severed and fell to the side, the cut as smooth as a mirror.

"Damn it!"

The mummy-like vampire, showing no sign of pain despite losing an arm, ignored the severed limb at the bottom of the ravine. In a flash, it reappeared on the ground. Its skeletal right hand opened. As a surge of crimson light emerged, the vampires throughout the town let out synchronized cries of agony. Star-like, blood-red specks of light converged into the mummy-like vampire's palm.

In just a moment, all the vampires in the entire town fell silent, collapsing heavily to the ground. The fangs in their mouths slowly retracted, and they reverted to the appearance of human corpses.

Meanwhile, all the blood-red specks gathered in the mummy-like vampire's palm, forming a translucent blood bead. It glowed with a hazy light, resembling a lustrous red agate.

"My strength has finally returned!" As the mummy-like vampire swallowed the blood droplet, its withered body instantly inflated like a balloon. In just a brief moment, an elegant noble dressed in medieval European court attire appeared amidst the ruins of the small town. Unfortunately, the long canine teeth in his mouth instantly made the elegant image somewhat Bizarre. With the vampire's mere thought, the arm that had been severed a moment ago regrew in the blink of an eye.

"Now, it's my turn!" Watching Chu Feng leap from the ravine, a sinister smile crept onto the vampire's lips. "Let me see if your blood tastes as delicious as you look!"

Gazing at the young man wielding a saber, the vampire's eyes glinted with greed at the sight of the pulsating artery in Chu Feng's neck. Centuries without the taste of fresh blood had driven the vampire somewhat mad.

With a flash of blood-red light, the vampire, now several times faster, instantly appeared before Chu Feng. His elongated fangs glinted with a Bizarre light as he lunged for Chu Feng's neck. Just as the fangs were mere centimeters from the major artery in Chu Feng's neck, a pale hand, appearing seemingly out of nowhere, firmly held the vampire's jaw. Chu Feng's other hand, holding the saber, plunged it into the vampire's waist. If vampires had kidneys, that thrust would have skewered both of them.

"You damned vermin!" With fury in his bloodshot eyes, the vampire forcefully pushed with both hands, instantly moving away from Chu Feng. Looking down at his two kidneys, which had been pulled from his body by the saber, he hurriedly reached down and brutally stuffed them back into the gash.

While the vampire was busy tending to his kidneys, the Spiritual Wings on Chu Feng's back fluttered several times. With a forceful stomp on the ground, Chu Feng almost teleported to the vampire's side.

Strike while he's vulnerable, and finish him!

His saber swung again, tearing open the freshly healed wound. Then, sheathing his saber, Chu Feng reached with both pale hands straight for the still-healing gash. The vampire, sensing danger, hastily stepped back, trying to escape Chu Feng's outstretched hands, but he was a step too slow. A pair of hands shimmering with golden light smoothly inserted themselves into the wound, then violently ripped outward—two indistinct chunks of flesh were torn away. It was a pity the vampire retreated so quickly; otherwise, Chu Feng might have torn off more than just those two chunks of flesh.

"Damn you! What kind of monster are you?"

Ignoring the vampire's furious roar, Chu Feng shook off the blood clinging to the golden light on his hands. With a thought, the cold, flashing saber appeared once more.

Seeing Chu Feng remain silent, merely gripping his saber with the clear intent to kill, the patriarch of the Vampire Family felt his heart fill with raging fury. A dagger as dark as a crescent moon reappeared in his hand. Facing the oncoming Chu Feng, he met the challenge without backing down.

But just as saber and short dagger clashed, a sudden, unknown pressure abruptly weighed upon the vampire. It caused his body to jolt, his movements suddenly sluggish.

Spotting the opportunity he had created, Chu Feng's eyes lit up. The Spirit-binding Chain he had prepared shot out, its silver-white length instantly coiling around the vampire like a serpent.

The saber flashed, and the hand clutching the short dagger was instantly severed from the vampire's wrist.

"You belong to me now!"

Chu Feng reached out and grabbed the vampire's severed hand. He nonchalantly tossed the twitching hand aside. The crescent moon-like dagger became Chu Feng's trophy.

"Let me give you a nice name. Hmm... let's call you Crescent Moon!"
