Master Luo Yu

Chapter 206 206 Assassination

"Jefferson, you've got to get used to it. Demons from Hell and angels from Heaven are already appearing. What's there to be shocked about with a Vampire Family?"

"Maybe one day, you'll see God and Satan sitting together drinking in some corner of the Human World," Jessica said, glancing at Jefferson.

"Uh..." Jefferson was momentarily at a loss for words.

But Chu Feng seemed intrigued and teased, "Then I'd really like to taste what kind of wine they're drinking!"

"..." Hearing this, Jessica gave Chu Feng a speechless look.

「Oregon State, Portland.」

Inside the underground base of the Holy Advent Society, a Cult member suddenly knocked on Priest Sirio's door.

"Priest Sirio, there's news about Claudia!"

In the room, Sirio, who had been kneeling and praying fervently before a goat's head engraving, abruptly opened his blood-red eyes upon hearing the news.

"Speak!"

The icy voice involuntarily sent a shiver through the Cult member outside the door. He hurriedly replied, "Word has come from the New York City underground that a group of Exorcists are secretly holding Claudia in a suburban underground base."

Feeling the deathly still atmosphere around him, the Cult member's voice unconsciously grew softer. "And... rumors say they might be conducting experiments on Claudia's body..."

Inside the room, there was no response from Sirio for a long while. The Cult member suddenly felt as if his heart was being tightly squeezed by a giant hand, and he instinctively wanted to flee.

Sirio, his face full of rage, waved his hand. A stone chair flew up, crashing heavily against the wall and shattering into pieces.

"What a damned waste!" The voice, grinding through clenched teeth, was filled with suppressed, extreme anger, making the air around seem to congeal.

"Go! Tell the men below to get ready! We head to New York immediately."

"Yes, Priest Sirio!"

Upon hearing the order from within the room, the Cult member felt as if he had been pardoned from death and immediately turned to leave the lethal place.

Inside the room, Sirio, his face gloomy, leaned onto the stone table before him. His teeth gnashed as he forced a sentence through them. "If not for the fact that the ritual ultimately requires the sacrifice of a Blood Demon..."

With a loud BANG, the sturdy stone table cracked apart, turning into countless pieces of rubble scattered across the floor.

Having vented his anger, Sirio finally managed to suppress his turbulent emotions somewhat. He took out his phone and made a call to Pennsylvania, New York's neighbor.

Red light flickered frequently in Sirio's pupils as he apparently promised something over the phone. Just when he was almost unable to control his anger, the voice on the other end finally agreed to his request.

"All a bunch of damned bastards!"

After hanging up, Sirio let out a roar. With a BANG, the lightbulb in the ceiling burst.

But in the end, he had achieved his goal. Cult members, through various means, were infiltrating New York, an area the Holy Advent Society had previously instinctively avoided.

「Texas.」

Having bid farewell to Jessica and the others, Chu Feng was now on a plane back to New York. Looking at the latest intelligence on his phone, a trace of mockery appeared on his face.

These little mice of the Holy Advent Society are really impatient. I barely provoked them, and they couldn't wait to jump out.

On the plane flying at an altitude of ten thousand meters, Chu Feng lay in the empty first-class cabin, resting with his eyes closed. This wave of Bizarre Tides had made most people temporarily give up on traveling, so the plane was surprisingly empty, with Chu Feng being the only passenger in first class. Coincidentally, Chu Feng was also enjoying the peace and quiet; he felt this travel experience deserved a solid ninety points.

Just as he was about to drift off to sleep, a thick Bizarre aura suddenly spread from the rear of the cabin, instantly snapping Chu Feng's eyes open.

You've got to be kidding me. A Bizarre flight?

The Bizarre aura came from the back, from the direction of economy class. His Spiritual Perception activated fully. As Spiritual Power was consumed, a series of lights and shadows of varying brightness flashed through Chu Feng's mind. The fragile airplane clearly couldn't withstand some of his more forceful methods, so to avoid having to parachute from such a height, Chu Feng suppressed the urge to pull out the Demon Hunting Blade from his Storage Space.

With a few steps, Chu Feng appeared in the economy class section of the plane. The atmosphere there was bizarre. A person obviously possessed by a Bizarre was jumping around, chasing the few passengers in the cabin. Their piercing screams made Chu Feng frown in discomfort.

With a casual Demon-breaking Fist, he struck the Bizarre, forcing it out of its host. A silver flame then appeared in his hand. After a shrill, miserable scream, the Bizarre entity turned to ash.

The few rescued passengers sighed with relief and began to approach Chu Feng, seemingly to express their thanks. But the hands hidden behind their backs or at their waists raised Chu Feng's suspicions. Yet, in his Spiritual Perception, these individuals indeed seemed like ordinary people.

Ordinary people? An assassination attempt?

The ludicrous thought made Chu Feng's brows rise. With a mental command, his Telekinesis immediately swept towards them. In less than a second, Chu Feng had scanned all their belongings.

Guns?

He shook his head. With another thought, before they could react, the guns concealed on their bodies were suddenly pulled away. The dark muzzles were now pressed steadfastly against each of their foreheads.

"Alright, who wants to tell me where you all came from and why you're attacking me?"

Before they could answer, a series of gunshots suddenly rang out from the front of the plane.

BANG! BANG!

As the gunfire sounded, the group in front of Chu Feng simultaneously revealed smiles laced with a hint of madness.

"Chu Feng, you can't escape! Die with us!"

Before the words had even faded, the plane suddenly began to shake violently. Those who were still laughing were thrown off balance. Chu Feng, however, stood rooted to the floor, completely unaffected by the turbulence.

It seems they really are all ordinary people.

"Die? With just this?"

Perhaps Chu Feng's scoffing had enraged them. One of the hooded men abruptly pulled out something that looked like a remote control, poised to press it.

A remote detonator? How cliché. Did he think I wouldn't recognize it?

Chu Feng, having been desensitized by countless movies and TV shows, immediately realized these individuals had likely planted C4 or similar explosives on the plane. With a thought, an instant before the man's finger could press the button, the remote control was snatched from his grasp.

Following a few more gunshots, the would-be assassins all collapsed in pools of their own blood.

If there's a bomb, the most likely place for it to be is...

Chu Feng's gaze swept around. The next second, his eyes fixed on a luggage compartment to the front right.
