Chapter 389 Shen Yicong's Shifting Face

It was three in the afternoon.

Qin He opened her eyes, feeling her strength had recovered considerably. However, with this recovery, the pain from her injuries all over her body felt like burning fire.

She got out of bed, found a disc, and put it into the DVD player to watch for a while.

Qin He chose a classic old movie, The Silence of the Lambs.

When the protagonist in the movie spoke of eating human livers, his expression was filled with relish.

Qin He frowned, and went to look through the discs again. They were all very disturbing.

She turned off the television decisively. Not long after, there was a knock on the door.

"Miss Qin, we're coming in." After knocking a few times, the person pushed the door open directly.

Qin He looked at the man in front of her and recalled the man who had taken the handgun from the flowerbed outside the Qin family's house. It was him.

"Is there something?"

The man's expression was indifferent. "It's time for your recreation."

Recreation. They really treated her like a prisoner.

Qin He pursed her lips but still followed the man obediently. She needed to know her current situation.

She needed to figure out where she was.

Following the man, she walked from a long corridor onto the deck. Qin He saw a long table not far from the deck.

The table was from a cargo ship, rather rough, and was laid out with food and pastries.

Shen Yicong had changed into a new outfit. A white vest hung loosely on him, revealing his strong chest muscles through the armholes.

He sat there casually, exuding an aura that was difficult to approach.

Qin He gritted her teeth, having the urge to throw him directly into the sea to feed the sharks.

As Qin He gnashed her teeth, Shen Yicong on the other side turned his head to look over.

His beast-like gaze fell on Qin He, and then he smiled. "Miss Qin, would you like to chat for a while?"

With no other option, Qin He pursed her lips and walked over, sitting down opposite Shen Yicong.

Her gaze quietly fell on the sea, attempting to determine their location from the wind direction and temperature.

Shen Yicong's voice suddenly rang out.

"After you fainted yesterday, we departed from Qingcheng, took a speedboat on the river to Yaer Bay, then went ashore and traversed the Cipor Forest, avoiding all surveillance and winding our way to Fengcheng, and finally departed from Runan Wharf."

Qin He turned her head abruptly. Shen Yicong's lips still held a smile as he pointed to the distance. "See that? Those are the Ladolyan Islands."

Qin He remained silent.

Shen Yicong smiled. "I know Miss Qin is smart. You've been observing your surroundings. You must want to know where you are. I'll tell you, so you don't have to bother figuring it out yourself."

His words carried confidence and ruthlessness, as if he didn't care at all. "If you wanted to escape, following the route I just described, perhaps it would be difficult for me to find you. However, the lives of those three people, I will slowly take them, and then let you watch."

Qin He's expression turned cold. "I have no intention of escaping, Mr. Shen. You needn't worry."

Shen Yicong's smile faded slightly as he looked at Qin He coldly. "You're not calling me 'Big Brother Shen' anymore?"

"Do you deserve it now?" Qin He said indifferently.

She picked up a pastry from the table and took a small bite.

Having not eaten for nearly a day and a night, she needed to recover her strength.

Shen Yicong nodded. "Hungry?"

"I'm alright."

"What would you like to eat?"

Qin He said, "Meat."

Meat would restore her energy the fastest.

Shen Yicong looked to the side. "Monkey, go and tell the kitchen. I'll keep her company here."

Monkey responded and turned to leave.

Qin He lowered her gaze.

In fact, if she could hold Shen Yicong hostage, perhaps those people would be more intimidated. Then she could exchange Shen Yicong for the lives of those three people.

Shen Yicong glanced at Qin He and continued to look towards the horizon.

The sea breeze blew, and the sunset over the sea was as beautiful as a painting.

Soon, Monkey led two people in chef's uniforms over.

The two chefs placed steaks in front of them, trembling slightly.

Qin He looked up at the chefs and noticed they both had injuries on their faces. She frowned. "Did you kidnap the chefs too?"

Shen Yicong paid it no mind. "Yes, isn't it to entertain our esteemed guest?"

Truly despicable, Qin He cursed inwardly.

A few more dishes were then served. Qin He's gaze fell on the knives and forks in front of her.

A chef beside her whispered, "This is pan-seared Icelandic scallop with premium caviar—"

Qin He's hand touched the steak knife.

Shen Yicong raised his eyes, a fierce glint in his pupils. "Miss Qin, I dislike having my good mood disturbed during dinner. Think carefully."

Qin He's fingers froze.

"Your resistance is useless against me, but it will affect my mood. If the dishes lose their flavor, these chefs will all be thrown into the sea."

Qin He abruptly looked up at Shen Yicong, gritting her teeth. "Are human lives so cheap in your eyes?"

Shen Yicong had already picked up his knife and fork. "You're mistaken. I value life, but the lives of others have nothing to do with me."

The dinner was eaten in silence. Qin He ultimately did not dare to act rashly.

She did not know Shen Yicong's strength. If she were no match for him, it would be these chefs who suffered.

After dinner, Shen Yicong stood up leisurely.

"Take Miss Qin back."

Monkey walked over from the side. Qin He stood up, but her legs suddenly felt weak!

Shen Yicong smiled. "This is a drug developed by Country D a few years ago. As long as you don't exert yourself, you won't feel its presence. Later, it was also banned."

Qin He pursed her lips. Fortunately, she hadn't made a move earlier.

But Shen Yicong's caution made her heart turn cold.

A person who is both cruel and meticulous, and devoid of humanity, is the most difficult to deal with!

Back in her room, Monkey left. At eight in the evening, he knocked on Qin He's door again, bringing some late-night snacks and discs.

Qin He took them and glanced. It was a whole stack of Shaun the Sheep.

She coldly swept her gaze across the camera in the corner of the ceiling.

But beggars couldn't be choosers. She put on the cartoon and sat there, pondering a plan.

Now that she, Gao Lang, and the other two were at sea, she absolutely could not come into conflict with Shen Yicong.

She was also under the influence of the drug Shen Yicong had given her, rendering her unable to exert force. It was impossible to take him hostage.

She could only wait until they reached shore.

According to the route Shen Yicong had described today, their destination should be the Land of the Rising Sun.

Once Qin He made up her mind, she kept the cartoon playing and lay down on the bed, falling into a deep sleep.

The next day, the sky was clear.

Qin He was taken to the deck for recreation at the appointed time. The food was top-notch, with Chinese and Western options for her to choose from.

But she never saw Shen Yicong again. Yet, she always felt a pair of eyes watching her from the shadows.

Two days later, the cargo ship docked.

Qin He looked out at the sparsely populated pier from the deck.

Shen Yicong finally appeared. He walked to her side, smiled, and handed her a small capsule.

"Eat this."

Qin He glanced behind Shen Yicong. Gao Lang, with his arms crossed, stood there with a stiff expression. Er Niang's sleeve revealed the muzzle of a black gun.

She took the capsule and ate it.
