Chapter 37 Teaching Him How to Tie a Tie

Qin He ignored the chatter of those people, but Zhou Yang glanced over with a serious expression.

The people not far away immediately fell silent.

Entering the private elevator, Qin He teased with a smile, "Brother Yang has quite the presence."

Zhou Yang scratched his head sheepishly.

They arrived at the top-floor president's office.

By now, the news of Qin Yun's injury had spread among the senior management. The Qin family didn't intend to keep it a secret; the longer they hid it, the more groundless speculation it would invite.

The senior executives of the Qin Corporation all knew that Qin He was just here for a short while, and there wouldn't be any major upheavals.

Qin Yun had only been injured for two days, and the accumulated official business for Qin Group wasn't much. With Zhou Yang's help, Qin He finished processing everything in one morning.

In the afternoon, in the president's office, Qin He sat at the desk and used Qin Yun's computer to access the Qin family's surveillance network.

The Qin family's surveillance network was independent. She pulled up the footage from last night, viewing the camera focused on the exterior wall of the villa. She found the one pointing directly at her window and then clicked to watch at eight times speed.

Only when it was almost time for her to get home last night did Qin He pause.

She frowned. On the camera, a frame showed her window going from closed to open.

Then, everything returned to normal.

The footage had been overwritten.

It seemed the person who infiltrated her bedroom was no amateur.

A cold glint appeared in Qin He's eyes. The Qin family was her bottom line; no one could touch it.

But who would target the Qin family? What was their motive?

After thinking for a long time without results, Qin He's fingers flew across the keyboard. Since the culprit was in the shadows, she needed to reinforce the Qin family's security network first.

She added several layers of protective walls to the Qin family's surveillance network and then made a phone call to a friend.

The Qin family's security personnel were outsourced to a friend's security company. Since someone could infiltrate so silently, this security team needed to be replaced.

By the time she finished handling everything, it was already three in the afternoon.

Qin He sent a WeChat message to Shen Yilin, asking him to be her escort.

The young man readily agreed: "Sister, do I need to prepare anything?"

Qin He typed: "No need. The banquet is on the twentieth. Sometime in the days leading up to the twentieth, check which day you're free, and I'll take you to buy some clothes."

Shen Yilin: "I'm free every day."

Qin He smiled: "Then I'll pick you up at your school later."

There was nothing major happening at Qin Group today, so she reviewed some recent cooperation documents and left.

Zhou Yang offered to drive her, but Qin He refused: "Although there's not much going on at the company now, Brother Yang, please keep an eye on things. Call me anytime if anything comes up."

She took Zhou Yang's car keys and drove to Qingcheng University.

When she arrived, she found that Shen Yilin was already waiting at the school gate.

He was wearing a simple checkered shirt, but against his lean physique and handsome face, it exuded a designer feel.

"Sister." The moment Shen Yilin saw Qin He, his cold demeanor melted away, his eyes sparkling like little stars.

"Get in the car."

As Shen Yilin got into the car and looked at her expectantly, Qin He chuckled: "What's wrong? Is there something on my face?"

"No, nothing."

The car drove to Qingcheng's commercial street, and they entered a shopping mall together.

After browsing through a few men's clothing stores, Shen Yilin had picked out most of his outfits; only a tie was missing.

While the sales assistant went to bag the clothes, Qin He spotted a tie in a display case nearby.

This tie wasn't displayed in the window like the others but was placed individually inside a glass cabinet.

"What do you think of this one? The color is quite nice, not too dull, and not old-fashioned." Qin He took out the tie and held it against Shen Yilin's chest.

Shen Yilin's Adam's apple bobbed slightly: "Whatever Sister says is fine."

"Do you know how to tie a tie?" Qin He looked up at him.

"No."

Qin He smiled: "I'll teach you, just watch."

She focused on tying the knot, not noticing that their distance had closed slightly.

Shen Yilin lowered his head, watching Qin He's hands.

The faint fragrance of her hair wafted to his nose, and for a moment, he was so nervous his hands clenched slightly.

Qin He finished tying the tie: "This is how you do it, then push it up."

"I got it," Shen Yilin said softly.

Qin He patted Shen Yilin's arm: "Alright, just wear this outfit when you come then."

As soon as she finished speaking, she felt something was wrong.

She turned her head and saw a man being led in by a staff member.

The man was wearing a black suit with subtle patterns, his posture tall and straight, exuding a refined and detached nobility.

Qin He's eyes twitched: Gu Qichen? He really was everywhere!

Shen Yilin also saw him and immediately became a little nervous.

He had met Gu Qichen once at a club and later learned of his identity from the news.

Sister's ex-husband, a super scumbag who was blind.

At the same time, he was also the head of the Gu family and the CEO of Gu Corporation, who held immense power!

Gu Qichen also saw Qin He, and his dark eyes became deep and distant, scanning from Qin He to Shen Yilin beside her.

Their distance was close, and the atmosphere was ambiguous.

His expression also turned cold.

In the tense silence, neither Gu Qichen nor Qin He spoke.

The sales assistant broke the silence: "Miss Qin, this tie has already been reserved by Mr. Gu—"

Qin He frowned. No wonder the tie wasn't displayed outside but was kept in the glass cabinet of this VIP room.

Beside her, Shen Yilin had already scowled and was about to take off the tie. He didn't want to wear anything belonging to the scumbag.

But he had only just learned to tie a tie, and his attempt to untie it was clumsy, quickly forming a small knot.

Seeing that the tie was getting creased, Qin He began to negotiate: "Mr. Gu, would you be willing to let me have this tie?"

Gu Qichen's cold eyes turned towards her, exuding a sense of pressure: "No."

The two words were like shards of ice, indifferent and resolute.

After all, it was someone else's reservation. Since negotiation failed, Qin He had no reason to force him to give it up. She turned to Shen Yilin, her voice softening slightly: "Don't pull hard, untie it like this."

Her fair, nimble fingers quickly undid the knot on the tie.

Qin He took the tie and held it out to Gu Qichen: "I apologize, I didn't know it was reserved."

Her tone was polite, yet carried a hint of distant coldness.

Gu Qichen's heart felt complicated. Seeing Qin He help the young male model untie the tie, he felt an inexplicable surge of anger.

He couldn't help but think of the incense at home, of the worn-out nightgowns.

Had a person's changes been so drastic simply because of amnesia?

The Qin He in front of him, dressed in a fitted black suit, looked capable and professional. While polite, her demeanor was distant.

Was this his ex-wife? The quiet, timid, wooden beauty who never spoke loudly?

Seeing that he was still not taking it, Qin He raised her eyebrows slightly, her voice turning a bit cold: "Mr. Gu?"

Gu Qichen glanced at the tie in her hand, still not reaching for it.

"I don't use things that others have worn."

"Then are you giving it to me or not?" Qin He was starting to get annoyed.

"No." Gu Qichen took the tie from her hand, then tossed it into a nearby trash can. "My things, even if I don't want them, I won't give them to others."

Crazy!

Qin He took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to lose her temper.

"Yilin, let's go."
