Chapter 124 Only You Are Allowed to Come Up

Di Shishi and Yu Jing stood by, dumbfounded.

Gu Qichen watched Qin He leisurely smash the window. Before long, the person inside couldn't hold back and rushed to the window, pushing it open.

"What do you people want?!"

Qin He stood in the sunlight, looking up at the old gentleman with half his hair white. "Mr. Liu, I want to talk to you!"

Liu Xing'an, a thin old man with a stubborn streak, was so angry he blew his beard. "Is this how you treat someone you want to talk to?"

"You wouldn't see us! We had to resort to this. It's a harmless childish method, right?" Qin He smiled annoyingly.

She guessed that people with great talent often had eccentric tempers.

Liu Xing'an was furious. "If you smash my glass again, I'll have you thrown out."

Qin He blinked. "Mr. Liu, since I've come to ask you, I've brought something that will surely satisfy you. Why don't you talk to me? If what I bring isn't enough to satisfy you, I'll turn around and leave immediately, without lingering here. How about that?"

Liu Xing'an looked at Qin He with arrogant disdain. "I don't care for your wealth. You could give me ten billion, and I still wouldn't agree to the repair if I didn't want to!"

Qin He giggled. "Alright, but you have to see it first. Otherwise—"

"Otherwise what?" Liu Xing'an huffed, his beard bristling.

Qin He smiled, weighing the pebble in her hand, looking like a rogue threatening someone, yet her smile was so charming it wasn't off-putting.

Liu Xing'an's face fell. "Fine, I give up. You can come up, but only you!"

Qin He cheerfully and crisply agreed, "Okay!"

The four of them returned to the house. Gu Qichen wanted to go upstairs with them.

Qin He shook her head. "Since the old gentleman said only I should go up, you don't need to."

She followed the butler to the third floor, stopping in front of a room in the corner.

The door was ajar. Qin He knocked twice.

Liu Xing'an's voice came from inside. "Come in!"

She pushed the door open. Liu Xing'an was sitting on the sofa directly opposite the door, a vintage ceramic mug of tea in front of him, and he scanned Qin He from head to toe with displeasure.

"You're pregnant! I thought you were some wild girl!"

Qin He smiled and sat down.

"Where's the thing you wanted to show me? Hurry up and take it out. I'll take a look, and then you can leave," Liu Xing'an waved his hand.

Qin He glanced out the window. "What I want to show you isn't a thing, but a person."

"A person? Who?" Liu Xing'an asked.

Qin He smiled faintly. "Mr. Liu, I heard your wife is suffering from a stubborn illness. I have two doctors here. One is a master of traditional Chinese medicine and herbs, and the other is the internationally renowned Professor Harlana."

Liu Xing'an's previously cloudy, languid eyes became sharp in an instant!

"Professor Harlana?!"

Qin He nodded. "That's her."

Liu Xing'an stared at Qin He, slightly stunned, for a long moment.

"You mean, if I help you repair that pavilion, you'll invite that professor to treat my wife?"

Qin He nodded, then paused and shook her head.

Liu Xing'an glared. "What do you mean?"

"If you're willing to go, I'll invite her to treat your wife. I mentioned Professor Harlana only to show my sincerity," Qin He said with a smile.

Liu Xing'an fell silent, staring at Qin He for a long time, and finally sighed. "Actually, I've already seen the mortise and tenon pavilion you sent. I'm indeed very interested. Although some craftsmanship of mortise and tenon joints has survived through history, buildings constructed with this technique are extremely rare. Most have become cultural relics, making detailed research impossible. However, I really can't leave right now. My wife's health is deteriorating day by day—"

His voice trembled slightly as he spoke.

"Repairing that pavilion isn't something that can be done in three to five days. Even if it goes smoothly and is completed quickly, it will take two to three months. I'm afraid if I leave, my wife might—"

Liu Xing'an didn't finish the phrase about separation by death, but Qin He understood.

She felt a touch of unexpected emotion.

She had a long talk with Liu Xing'an for an hour before going downstairs.

Gu Qichen was waiting in the living room on the first floor and stood up immediately when he saw Qin He.

"How did it go?"

Qin He shook her head.

"Not successful? Then forget it," Gu Qichen thought to comfort her.

Qin He smiled. "It's successful, but we have to wait a week."

Gu Qichen pondered for a moment. "Waiting a week is fine, but how did Liu Xing'an agree to your terms?"

Qin He smiled, not intending to hide it. "I agreed to introduce a doctor to Master Liu to examine his wife. After Mrs. Liu has had her examination, I'll send the results to the doctor. They should be able to treat her."

"A doctor?" Gu Qichen frowned slightly. Given Liu Xing'an's status and knowledge, what doctor had he been unable to find before?

Qin He saw what Gu Qichen was thinking. "It's Doctor Harlana."

Harlana?

Gu Qichen's gaze deepened. How did Qin He know this person?

Professor Harlana was an internationally famous doctor, sought after by countless medical research institutes.

Once, abroad, an exorbitant annual salary and excellent conditions, including a green card, a house, and a car, were offered to entice Professor Harlana to immigrate. She refused them all.

She was a legendary figure in the medical world, shrouded in mystery.

Qin He called out to Di Shishi. "We can go back now. I have Master Liu's number. We can contact him later. However, we'll probably have to stay in Country L for another week."

Di Shishi had recently adapted to the weather in Country L.

"It's okay, I can stay as long as needed," Di Shishi said with a bright smile, treating it like a vacation.

It was rare for a mission to be so relaxing.

Liu Xing'an's primary concern was his wife's illness. After Qin He mentioned she could find Professor Harlana for him, he integrated all of Mrs. Liu's medical records and sent them to the email address Qin He had provided for Professor Harlana the next day.

At noon, after finishing lunch, Qin He sat with her laptop, looking at the medical records on the computer.

Mrs. Liu's illness was a rare and stubborn condition that was difficult to cure with Western medicine.

She had encountered one or two similar cases before, but traditional Chinese medicine could help. She remembered a herbal prescription in the "Wan Fang Lun" that could alleviate this condition.

Qin He wrote down the prescription and handed it to Di Shishi, asking her to contact someone domestically to mail the herbs.
