Chapter 230 Waiting for His Return

Gu Qishen and Qin He walked towards the car parked by the roadside.

"I'll take you back."

"No need, I drove myself," Qin He shook her head and refused.

Her heart was beating wildly. She absolutely couldn't be in the same space as him again at this moment.

Gu Qishen didn't insist.

Qin He drove, her mind in a mess.

She glanced up. From the rearview mirror, she could see Gu Qishen's car not far behind.

Qin He pursed her lips and hurried back to her room on the second floor after getting out of the car.

Looking out from the balcony of her room, she could faintly see the car bathed in moonlight at the end of the garden by the main gate.

Qin He glanced at it and then drew the curtains.

What did Gu Qishen mean?

Qin He frowned, covering her left chest, where waves of familiar yet unfamiliar palpitations surged.

A few minutes later, her phone suddenly rang. Qin He looked at it and saw it was a message from Gu Qishen.

Gu Qishen: "Wait for me to return."

Qin He frowned, not quite understanding the meaning of Gu Qishen's message. She pursed her lips.

Forget it, if I can't figure it out, I won't think about it!

After washing up, Qin He went to bed early.

The next morning.

Qin He got up early, planning to go to the Western District United Department.

Qin Yun and Ming Yuzhu objected to her going to work.

"Isn't the Western District basically stable now? If necessary, I can transfer a responsible person from the company. If you're still worried, I'll go myself," Qin Yun frowned. "What's the matter with you going there yourself? With such a big belly, can you handle anything if something happens?"

"Brother, my belly is big, not my brain," Qin He said helplessly.

She glanced at Ming Yuzhu beside her and whispered, "After all, I haven't managed the affairs of the Western District United Department much. The renovation is now in its mid-stage. This is a joint project between our Qin Corporation and Gu Corporation."

"Moreover, Gu Qishen going abroad to sign contracts with Wilson is also a collaborative project between our two families."

Qin Yun sneered, "Why are you defending Gu Qishen now? I didn't say I wouldn't manage it, I said we should send someone else."

Qin He said seriously, "My master is still at the United Department. I haven't visited him in a while, so it's convenient. Besides, brother, you haven't managed the Western District United Department before, and you don't even know most of the people there."

Qin Yun had no choice but to sigh softly.

"If you want to go, then go. Just take care of yourself."

After breakfast, Qin He left the Qin family's home, driving and stroking her lower abdomen.

"Baby, for you, the constraints on me are getting more and more numerous."

As her belly grew bigger, Qin He could clearly feel her brother's anxiety.

She drove all the way to the Western District United Department.

Qin He convened a meeting and called the heads of both companies.

"Since General Manager Gu is not here, if there are any problems with the reconstruction, you can come directly to my office. I will be in the office all day this week," Qin He said.

The several managers exchanged glances.

"Don't worry, President Qin. General Manager Gu had already made arrangements for the work at the United Department before he left. We will definitely work diligently."

People from both sides responded.

Qin He was slightly stunned. She hadn't expected Gu Qishen to be so thoughtful.

After the meeting, Qin He went to Liu Xing'an's office. She pushed open the door and saw Liu Xing'an sitting at a tea table, brewing tea.

He looked up and saw Qin He enter, then snorted coldly and turned his face away quite arrogantly.

Qin He chuckled, "Master, what's wrong?"

Liu Xing'an, with a displeased expression, glanced at Qin He from the corner of his eye. "You still remember you have me as a master?"

Qin He walked over helplessly and casually picked up a small box from a nearby shelf.

"Master, I had no choice. My brother is getting engaged soon, and my belly is so big, it's inconvenient for me to move around," Qin He said with a smile.

Liu Xing'an looked at her and sighed.

"Your belly looks quite big. How long until your due date?"

"Not long now," Qin He replied casually.

Usually, when Qin He came to Liu Xing'an's place, Gu Qishen would also come. But today, she inexplicably felt that Liu Xing'an's office was exceptionally large and somewhat empty.

Qin He untied the secret box in her hand and took an invitation card from her bag, handing it to Liu Xing'an.

"Master, this is the invitation to my brother's engagement banquet. If you have time, please bring Mistress to celebrate."

Qin He thought for a moment, "It's alright if you don't have time."

Liu Xing'an didn't seem like someone who enjoyed attending lively banquets.

Liu Xing'an took the invitation and placed it on the table nearby.

Qin He stood up and picked out a bunch of small wooden structures, intending to assemble them herself for fun.

"Master, I'm going back to my office. Since Gu Qishen is not here, I need to keep an eye on the Western District United Department."

"Go back, go back,"

Liu Xing'an waved his hand with a look of disdain.

Qin He's office was not far from Liu Xing'an's, only a few steps away. As she walked to her office door, playing with the small wooden blocks, she glanced sideways at the direction of Gu Qishen's office door. That door was now locked.

Qin He didn't manage to accomplish much during her day at the Western District United Department.

Around four in the afternoon, she packed up her things, said goodbye to Liu Xing'an, and drove home.

As her car approached an intersection, the light turned red, and Qin He stopped.

Her phone in her bag buzzed. She took it out and saw it was a WeChat message from Gu Qishen.

Gu Qishen: "I've met Wilson."

Qin He pursed her lips and typed a reply: "Have the contracts been signed?"

Gu Qishen: "No, Wilson was just receiving me today. I'll be staying here, and the contracts should be signed in three days."

Qin He glanced at the traffic light. With a few seconds left, she put her phone aside and started the car.

When she returned to the Qin family's home, Qin He got out of the car and then picked up her phone to check again. Gu Qishen had already sent another message.

Gu Qishen: "Wait for me to return."

The same four words again. Qin He felt a vague sense of unease. She had a feeling that something would happen after Gu Qishen returned.

Some things were changing little by little.

In a few more days, it would be Qin Yun's engagement banquet. The Qin family's home was being cleaned and decorated, and the display pedestals had been placed one after another.

All that was left was to arrange the freshly flown-in flowers on the day.

After dinner, Qin He called Xu Wanwan.

Xu Wanwan, who was usually carefree, sounded a little shaky. "Qin He, I'm so nervous thinking about the engagement in a few days!"
