Si Qing looked up.
An Nuo heard the curses from inside the house, stood up sharply, and walked towards the window with Si Qing, peeking through the paper.
Inside the room,
Little Qi Yu sat on the ground, the wooden basin in her hands broken in half.
Her face bore the imprint of five fingers, and her forehead had hit the corner of the table, creating a bloody gash that was now gurgling with blood.
"Sister!" Si Qing was instantly enraged, his eyes turning red. With a bang, he kicked the door open.
He then knelt on the ground, looking at Little Qi Yu's forehead.
Little Qi Yu's lips were pale.
She felt dizzy and couldn't even see clearly.
The Shi family couple nearby were stunned by the sudden intrusion of Si Qing and An Nuo. They stopped arguing, hugged their son, and stood in a corner, looking at them warily.
"Are you even human? Why would you push a child while arguing!" An Nuo exclaimed, then looked at Little Qi Yu with concern.
Si Qing looked at An Nuo. Seeing her about to tend to the wound, he shook his head and pointed to a spot nearby: "No need, they're here."
An Nuo followed Si Qing's gaze and finally saw the "black and white impermanence" he had mentioned.
An Nuo frowned, then looked down again, only to find that Little Qi Yu had stopped breathing.
As she died, her small hands were still clutching Si Qing's sleeve. She must have been in extreme pain.
The Shi family couple, of course, could not see the black and white impermanence. They only saw An Nuo and Si Qing talking while holding Pan Di.
The black and white impermanence approached An Nuo, bowed to her, and then with a flick of their chains, hooked Pan Di's soul.
"Wait..." Si Qing raised his hand and beckoned towards Pan Di's soul.
The next moment, Qi Yu's main soul floated out from within Pan Di.
An Nuo, who had been looking on with curiosity, was suddenly shocked, her eyes wide open: "When did you know Qi Yu's soul was inside Pan Di? Si Qing? How did you find out?"
"When I stood up just now, I saw two characters drawn on the ground," Si Qing said, looking at the ground beside them.
An Nuo followed his gaze.
Indeed.
Where Little Qi Yu had been sitting, the characters "Qi Yu" were written with a branch.
"My mother once told me that the judge said that after Sister's soul was scattered, her main soul's memory might not be complete," Si Qing lowered his gaze. "So I suspected that what Pan Di possessed was Sister's main soul. However, because her memory was incomplete, she only remembered the name Qi Yu and kept writing it."
An Nuo suddenly understood.
Si Qing had the black and white impermanence take Pan Di's soul away. He then cupped Qi Yu's main soul in his palm, gently cradling it, and began to transfer the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, previously absorbed by the Yan Zhen Mirror, into Qi Yu's main soul bit by bit.
Qi Yu's main soul, originally the size of a fingernail, began to slowly grow after absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, eventually becoming a palm-sized soul mass.
An Nuo was so happy that tears welled up in her eyes. She held Qi Yu's soul mass in her arms, tears falling onto it from her cheeks.
Si Qing thought for a moment, then suddenly took two dragon scales from his body, mixed them with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, and fused them into Qi Yu's soul mass.
Gradually, Qi Yu's soul mass began to take on a physical form, transforming from a translucent ball of light into a milky infant with Qi Yu's face and a white dragon tail.
She appeared to be only about a month old.
Because it wasn't her original body, Little Qi Yu did not have dragon horns. Her clothes were a red infant outfit materialized from Si Qing's dragon scales.
Her eyes were clear. Since only one of her three souls was present, and the other two souls and seven spirits had yet to be found, she could not grow larger for the time being. She only had the appearance of an infant and could not understand much, only gnawing on Si Qing's fingers.
Si Qing glanced at the stunned Shi family couple behind them, choosing not to bother with them. After arranging for Pan Di's body, he and An Nuo turned to leave.
Once they were out of the house, Si Qing lifted the infant Qi Yu in his hand, pressed her onto his palm, and began to pat her: "You didn't tell me about such an important event as the Heavenly Dao. Even if you couldn't speak, you should know the basic principle of not harming yourself, right? What if we couldn't find you? Would you make us all cry to death? It's too infuriating. Sister, tell me, how many times has this happened already?"
Little Qi Yu was hurt by his patting.
She cried with a cooing sound.
She struggled, trying to escape.
But she was immediately pulled back by Si Qing.
An Nuo thought about it and agreed that the little girl was a bit exasperating. She joined Si Qing in scolding her.
After being severely reprimanded by the two of them, Little Qi Yu cried on Si Qing's hand, her chubby little face streaked with tears.
Si Qing lifted her up, pinched her little cheek, and said, "Don't cry. Tell me, do you know you were wrong?"
Infant Qi Yu nodded tearfully and mimicked him in a childish voice, "Wrong."
Si Qing raised an eyebrow: "Since you know you were wrong, then say it properly. Say 'Brother, I was wrong, I won't dare to do it again.'"
"Wuwuwu..." Infant Qi Yu laboriously followed suit, "Brother, I was wrong, I won't dare to do it again."
Si Qing instantly felt appeased.
An Nuo teased Si Qing: "You're so cunning, you brat. You're taking advantage of Qi Yu's lack of memory to scold her and vent your anger. When her three souls and seven spirits are complete, she won't remember this either."
Most importantly, this brat was taking advantage of Qi Yu by making the still-confused Qi Yu call him "brother."
Si Qing looked up at the sky: "Mother, what are you saying? I don't understand."
An Nuo raised an eyebrow and didn't argue with him, secretly thinking, It's fine if he doesn't understand now. She remembered. When Qi Yu's three souls and seven spirits were complete, she would go and complain...
