Yugito ran towards the outskirts of the village for its safety. Her speed in the dark was undoubtedly much faster than Karin's, but she gave Karin the illusion of being able to catch up.
Soon, Yugito led Karin into a canyon, far from Kumogakure and close to the coastline of the Land of Lightning.
"What's wrong? Why aren't you running anymore? Do Jinchuriki also run out of chakra?" Karin was very dissatisfied with Yugito's constant fleeing. She figured they were far from Lixing now. Her first words upon Yugito stopping were laced with mockery.
"Don't you understand yet? You can't catch up to me with your speed. I deliberately led you here. Although I don't know who you are, for the safety of the village, I will bury you here."
Karin was greatly alarmed. "A miscalculation. This Jinchuriki is not simple. I don't know her abilities, but I'll probe her first."
Karin reactivated her Mangekyo Sharingan and first used a genjutsu to test Yugito.
However, Yugito was a perfect Jinchuriki, and her relationship with the Two-Tails, Matatabi, was even better than Killer B's relationship with the Eight-Tails, Gyuki. The moment she was caught in the genjutsu, she woke up, or rather, Matatabi woke her up.
"These eyes, they're Sharingan. You're a remnant of the Uchiha! But genjutsu doesn't work on me!" Yugito extended her claws, using the terrain to spring up and lunge at Karin with extreme speed.
"So fast! And she conceals her presence so well, I can't sense her with my perception!" Karin looked around. Before she could think much, Yugito's claws were already at Karin's face.
"Kamui, Intangibility!"
Yugito's claws missed, as if she had struck empty air. Yet, by all appearances, Karin was the real body.
"The attack passed through? An illusion? No, it's the real body. What ninjutsu is this?"
"Fire Style, Fire Rat Bullet!"
Since physical attacks were ineffective, Yugito decided to use ninjutsu. She spat a ball of blue fire chakra from her mouth, which could split into numerous rat-shaped fireballs in the air.
Seeing the ball of blue flame, Karin immediately understood. This was the Two-Tails' ability, Fire Style. That made things easier.
"Water Style, Water Colliding Wave!"
Karin quickly formed hand seals and, using the river flowing towards the sea, summoned four water tornadoes that shot into the sky, directly confronting Yugito's Fire Style.
Yugito sneered upon seeing this. "Too naive. The Fire Rat Bullet has tracking capabilities, and I can control it. I can even detonate it prematurely around you."
As expected, the Fire Rat Bullets in the air easily dodged Karin's Water Style under Yugito's control and instantly surrounded Karin. Before the Fire Rat Bullets could hit their target, Yugito detonated them prematurely.
"Did I succeed?" Yugito hid behind a rock, staring intently at the smoke at the center of the explosion. To prevent Karin from using that technique again, she had no choice but to detonate it early, but she couldn't guarantee how much damage it would inflict on Karin.
"Star Lord was right. Some people in this world reveal their abilities during fights. They often have some skills, but they're too arrogant. Without a sure victory, they expose their techniques' weaknesses. I should really thank you!"
"Blood Demon Art, Blood Cage!"
A voice came from the smoke. Yugito reacted quickly, but just as she was about to leave her position, a crimson cage appeared around her and began to shrink rapidly.
"Not good! What is this ability? Blood manipulation?"
Yugito was shocked. Such a kekkei genkai that could manipulate blood had never appeared in the ninja world. It seemed she could only transform into hertailed beast form.
Yugito then dropped to all fours, her tied-up hair instantly loosening and standing straight up, like a cat with its fur bristling.
Simultaneously, two tails imbued with blue flames grew from Yugito's back, evaporating Karin's Blood Demon Art with extreme heat.
"It didn't work after all? I mixed my blood into the Water Style earlier, seemingly to attack the Fire Rat Bullets, but in reality, it was to get close to the Jinchuriki. I almost succeeded. I really should have tried harder, damn it! If only I could have injured the Jinchuriki, I could have drained her blood directly."
Seeing her Blood Demon Art broken, Karin regretted it in her heart. If she had known, she should have learned more from Lixing, and she wouldn't be in this situation.
Without much time to think, Yugito enhanced her claws with blue flames. Her speed increased significantly compared to before, reaching Karin almost instantly from behind.
"Kamui!"
Karin quickly turned around and used Kamui with all her might. However, Yugito felt a distortion in her arm and, with extreme speed, dodged again. A large rock behind Karin was directly shattered by Kamui.
While dodging Kamui, Yugito observed the strange ninjutsu Karin was using.
"It can distort space, but its drawback is that it must be within line of sight. It's indeed a dojutsu. The shape of the Sharingan I saw earlier was different from a normal Sharingan, so it must be the legendary Mangekyo Sharingan. But if line of sight can't keep up with my speed, then this dojutsu is meaningless!"
In a short period, Yugito had analyzed Karin's abilities. Next, she needed to test that intangibility ability. Yugito then swung her claws and lunged downwards.
Similarly, Yugito chose to attack Karin from behind. After all, the back was Karin's weakness, or at least, that's what Yugito believed.
"I've seen through your moves! You always come to my back, is being fast that impressive? Die!" Karin shouted angrily and threw an elbow strike backwards.
Under Karin's strike, Yugito chose to clash claws. But when her claws touched Karin, the scene of blood spraying didn't occur. Then, Karin's attack directly hit Yugito's face. Under this heavy blow, Yugito was sent into the water by Karin.
"What was that just now? I clearly touched her, why wasn't she injured? And what is this power? Is the Uchiha clan's taijutsu this strong? Right, she used Water Style just now, Uchiha should be proficient in Fire Style."
Yugito was utterly bewildered. After this exchange, this woman seemed like an all-around ninja, proficient in genjutsu, dojutsu, ninjutsu, and taijutsu, with incredible recovery abilities.

Seeing Karin continue with Lightning Style attacks, and consecutive ones at that, Yugito knew she was at a disadvantage in the water and quickly swam upwards.
The moment she crawled out of the water, Yugito wasted no words and immediately activated her tailed beast transformation, becoming the Two-Tails, Matatabi, but her body did not grow larger.
