Chapter 125: Chapter 125: The Cheesiest Apology
~Zayn’s POV~
He opened it, and a familiar voice drifted in. "Evric..."
Even without seeing the face at first, I knew immediately who it was. Vanya.
Evric’s tone shifted, polite but distracted. "What’s up?"
"You didn’t check your email," Vanya replied, stepping closer. "The second draft of the project presentation is finally out..."
Before she could continue, Evric cut in. "Babe, please let me call you when I’m done." His eyes flicked back to the screen, his whole focus still on me.
I swallowed, torn between smiling and frowning. "I’ll be sleeping already."
"Okay," he said softly, his voice gentler now. "Goodnight, baby."
I was about to hang up when his voice caught me again. "Babe, wait."
My brows furrowed. "What?"
"You forgot something." His lips curved faintly, like he was teasing.
"What?" I asked, half tired, half amused.
"You haven’t told me you love me."
I glanced at the screen, lowering my voice. "You have someone there..."
"Just say it," he pressed, almost boyishly stubborn.
My chest tightened, warmth breaking through my annoyance. "I love you, Evric."
His answering smile was radiant. "I love you, Zayn."
Then, right there in front of Vanya, he leaned toward the camera and blew me kisses until I laughed and ended the call.
For a while, I just sat back in silence, staring at the blank screen. My heart was soft, full, but a question tugged at me. Evric was shameless, yes... always so open about his love for me. He didn’t care about hiding it. That was part of him, and part of what I adored.
But doing it so casually in front of Vanya... that unsettled me. It made me wonder how close the two of them really were, what conversations they shared when I wasn’t there.
The thought alone kept my mind busy for a while. I just lay there, staring at the ceiling, thinking about him, thinking about our first night together.
Even as I shut my eyes and tried to drift into sleep, flashes of tonight came back to me. The way he made me cum through nothing but a screen. No one had ever had that kind of hold on me. Only Evric.
It felt good... too good. Every release he pulled out of me carried this mix of heat and surrender that no one else could touch. And I loved it. But at the same time... Evric could be too much sometimes.
I already knew what was waiting for me. He had promised it himself, three days straight when he came back. I had laughed and told him I was ready, but now, alone in the quiet, I caught myself whispering a small prayer: God, give me the strength to survive him.
And the timing, it wasn’t just any visit. He would be back on the occasion of my birthday.
I smiled faintly at the thought, but then another worry slipped in. I hope the house is safe enough. If he takes me the way he’s threatening to, if I scream the way I usually do... will my friends hear me?
My mind was racing, torn between dread and desire. Because as much as I tried to picture myself resisting, the truth settled deep in my chest... I couldn’t wait. I missed him. I missed the weight of his body, the stretch of his cock, the way he filled me until my mind broke into pieces.
I couldn’t wait to feel my man again.
With a quiet sigh, I finally set my phone down on the nightstand, hugged my pillow tight, and let sleep claim me. Even in my dreams, I could still feel him.
**********
When I woke up that morning, the first thing I saw on my phone screen were several missed calls from Evric, alongside a few messages. Mixed in were also some missed calls from an unknown number.
But out of everything, my eyes locked on Evric’s message first.
I typed quickly: Good morning, baby.
Just as I was about to get out of bed and look for something to eat, it was Sunday morning after all, my phone rang again. My heart leapt, certain it was Evric.
I rushed to grab it.
But when I looked down, it wasn’t him. The call was from that same unknown number.
I hesitated, then answered.
"Hello, this is Evans Lucas," the voice said.
Oh... right. I had almost forgotten I gave him my contact yesterday.
I cleared my throat. "Good morning. Mr. Evans."
"Good morning, Zayn," he said smoothly. "I hope I didn’t disturb you."
"No, not at all," I replied politely. "And... thank you again for yesterday. For paying for what I bought."
He chuckled lightly. "It’s nothing." Then his tone shifted, casual yet deliberate. "Can the two of us hang out later?"
His words caught me off guard. My mind scrambled for an excuse, and I blurted out the first thing that came. "Actually, I already have plans with my friends today. Maybe some other time."
"That’s fine," he replied easily. "I could join you instead. I don’t mind meeting your friends. That’s part of getting to know you well."
Getting to know me well? His words left me momentarily speechless.
"Alright," I said finally, keeping my voice even. "I’ll... let you know later."
He paused, then added with a small laugh, "And if you forget to text me, I’ll text you. If you forget to call... I’ll call you back myself."
The line went silent after that.
When the call ended, I sat there staring at my phone, wondering what exactly was going on with this man called Evans.
I told myself it was nothing, that it was just friendship. And on the surface, there was nothing wrong with that. Making a new friend wasn’t a crime.
But deep inside, I couldn’t shake the unease. Something about it didn’t feel right.
Especially now, with everything surrounding Evric’s father’s trial, the risks, the secrets, the shadows I was already tangled in.
Making new friends... especially with someone like Evans Lucas... might just be dangerous.
Just then, the doorbell rang.
I froze for a moment. I wasn’t expecting anyone.
Curious, I went to open it, only to find a delivery guy standing there with a pizza box in hand.
"Pizza delivery for Zayn," he said.
My brows furrowed. "I... didn’t order any pizza."
He shrugged. "It’s already paid for. It’s yours."
Still confused, I accepted it and closed the door. As I set the box on the table, I noticed a folded note taped to the top.
I peeled it off and opened it.
Good morning, baby. I seriously don’t know what to give you, but I want to apologize for getting you annoyed yesterday. I’m sorry and thank you for loving me back. From your man, _E.
I stared at the note for a moment, then burst out laughing. "What the fuck is this..."
Shaking my head, I flopped onto the couch with the pizza box still in my lap.
Evric was unbelievable. Shameless, bold, sometimes way too much for me to handle but always finding a way to slip back into my heart before I could stay mad for long.
I pressed the note against my lips, still smiling despite myself. "You’re lucky I love you too, idiot."
Just then, my phone rang. When I looked at the screen, I saw Evric’s name flashing across it.
