Chapter 8 The Threat

The toilet was filled with smoke and the smell of cigarettes when Wang Yue entered.

Three boys were beating up another boy. The victim was on the ground, covering his head, not making a sound.

In his past life, Wang Yue wouldn't even dare to use the toilet in such a situation, he would have turned around and left immediately.

But now, it was different.

"Stop."

Wang Yue said calmly.

The three boys indeed stopped and turned to look at Wang Yue.

"Want to play the hero?"

The leader of the group, with a crooked mouth, glared at Wang Yue menacingly.

Wang Yue recognized him. He was a troublemaker from Class 2, named Li Lejie. In his past life, he was expelled from school for fighting. If he remembered correctly, it was around the latter half of his third year.

"Does beating someone up in the toilet make you feel powerful?"

Wang Yue said with a smile.

"None of your business. Believe it or not, we'll beat you up too?"

Before Li Lejie could speak, two of his lackeys couldn't hold back.

"Look at you show off. I'll report you to the academic affairs office later. Let's see if you're still this arrogant in front of the dean."

Wang Yue chuckled.

"Damn it! Brother Jie, this guy wants to report us. What should we do?"

Li Lejie didn't know if Wang Yue was telling the truth or not, but he didn't dare to gamble. He already had a warning on his record, and getting caught again would mean expulsion.

"Kid, I'll remember you."

Li Lejie, along with his two followers, ran away.

"Get up."

Wang Yue said to the boy on the ground.

"They threatened you, why didn't you beat them up? You clearly have the strength."

Li Jiale got up from the ground, his eyes filled with defiance and confusion.

Wang Yue wasn't surprised. He knew from the start that this person was Li Jiale.

"Are you good at fighting? What's the use of being good at fighting?"

Wang Yue shook his head with a smile.

"Why is it useless? If I had your strength, I wouldn't be bullied by these people, and I could be the boss!"

Li Jiale's emotions were a little out of control.

"School is a place for learning, not for fighting."

Wang Yue finished what he had to say and turned to leave.

He wasn't an idiot. Getting caught fighting at school would mean being disciplined. Was getting a demerit something to be proud of?

Those who liked to be aggressive in school often got a harsh education in society. It was only then they realized that bullying classmates wasn't much of a skill.

"Wang Yue?!"

On his way back to the classroom, Wang Yue bumped into Song Xianya, who was coming downstairs.

Song Xianya wasn't in the same class as Wang Yue. Her classroom was on the upper floor.

Today, Song Xianya was wearing hot pants and a short-sleeved shirt that exposed half of her shoulder. It was a relatively bold outfit for the campus.

"Hi, what a coincidence."

Wang Yue smiled and nodded.

"Whoa, I almost didn't recognize you with your new haircut."

Song Xianya's eyes sparkled with curiosity. She hopped in front of Wang Yue and said, "Tsk tsk tsk, I always thought you'd look handsome with a different hairstyle, and it turns out I was right."

In the past?

Wang Yue thought that if he had gotten a buzz cut in the past, he would have looked like a melon rind, not like this.

He wondered if this girl was genuinely blind or faking it.

"You have a discerning eye."

Wang Yue said with a laugh.

Song Xianya leaned close to Wang Yue's ear with a mischievous grin, "How about this? Call me 'good sister,' and I'll cover for you from now on. I guarantee no one will dare to bully you."

After saying that, Song Xianya blushed.

She had actually liked this bookworm for a while.

Wang Yue's expression turned strange. Was this 'good sister' serious?

"How about this, you call me 'good brother,' and I'll cover for you?"

Wang Yue teased.

"Hmph, you can't even save yourself, and you want to cover for me? Fine, if you don't want to call me that, then forget it."

Song Xianya snorted.

"I'm back! This time, I'm going to take back everything that belongs to me!"

Wang Yue suddenly remembered a meme he saw on Douyin in his past life. It was super cool with the right music.

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

"Nothing. Class is about to start. See you later!"

The bell for class rang, and Wang Yue quickly returned to the classroom.

Song Xianya watched Wang Yue's retreating back, bit her lip, and then suddenly smiled foolishly, "You guy, I'm definitely going to make you call me 'good sister'."

The third class was Chinese.

The fourth class was Politics.

The morning passed quickly. There was a two-hour lunch break, and classes resumed at 2 PM.

The first class in the afternoon was Physical Education.

Now that they were in their third year of high school, the PE teachers weren't yet prone to "sudden illnesses" or "taking leave," so the students were still quite happy.

Wang Yue ate a bowl of noodles at the school gate for lunch and then returned to the classroom. He didn't want to bother going home for just a two-hour break.

He wasn't sleepy during the lunch break, so Wang Yue took out his phone to chat.

Just then, someone sat in Zhuo Yao's seat.

Then, with a bang, both hands slammed down on Wang Yue's desk.

Wang Yue looked up and saw Xie Te's ugly face.

"What are you doing?"

Wang Yue asked, puzzled.

In his past life, this Xie Te was also one of Wang Yue's bullies. He remembered one PE class where they were short a player for basketball, and Xie Te forcibly dragged Wang Yue to play.

Later, because Wang Yue's skills were so terrible, they lost to Class 3. After the game, Xie Te flew into a rage and kicked Wang Yue in the back, sending him flying more than 4 meters.

Fortunately, Wang Yue was physically strong back then and wasn't seriously injured, but it was definitely humiliating. However, Wang Yue never forgot that kick.

"Do you think you're very handsome?"

Xie Te sneered.

"Looking for trouble?"

Wang Yue was secretly delighted. He had been looking for an excuse to deal with this guy. He put his phone in his pocket and said, "Just so-so. A little bit more handsome than you."

Xie Te's expression froze. He hadn't expected Wang Yue to be so bold.

Had this bullied loser's courage grown along with his haircut?

"I'm warning you, stay away from Qiao Zixuan. If you dare to refuse her again, I'll skin you alive."

Xie Te pointed at Wang Yue and threatened him.

So this guy was actually a simp.

Wang Yue wanted to laugh. "You're telling me to stay away from her, but also not to refuse her. If she asks me to date her, should I agree or not?"

"Damn it!"

Xie Te slammed the table and stood up. "Do you think you're very funny?"

"Just so-so. A little bit more humorous than you."

Xie Te wanted to slap Wang Yue across the face, but something felt off. Where was this loser getting his confidence from?

"He must be planning to get beaten up by me and then report me to the teacher. Getting a demerit in the third year of high school could affect his graduation. What a vicious plan!"

Xie Te looked at Wang Yue and ultimately didn't make a move.

Even if he wanted to make a move, he couldn't leave any evidence. The classroom, with its prying eyes, was not the ideal place.

"Wang Yue, I see through you."

Xie Te sneered. "You better watch your safety recently. Don't get dragged into an alley and beaten up."

"Thanks for the reminder."

Wang Yue lowered his head and started playing with his phone again.
