Yu He entered her phone number right under his gaze; he couldn't have faked it if he tried. The man immediately dialed her number to confirm it was correct.
"..."
Seeing her phone ring, Qin Beiting hung up. "Remember, this is my number. When I call you, you are not to ignore me."
Yu He replied impatiently, "Tsk, with our kind of relationship, isn't this a bit much?"
Qin Beiting cupped her chin, forcing her to look at him. "Remember, you started this. Until I get tired of you, you have no right to end it!"
"Isn't it about the remaining 206 condoms we used?" Yu He blurted out instinctively.
Qin Beiting smirked sinisterly, "Not bad, you even kept count."
He then leaned close to Yu He's ear and whispered, "However, it was 207. The last time, you couldn't keep up, so it doesn't count."
Yu He: ".................."
The person involved deeply regretted her actions.
She should never have let her eyes be clouded by his good looks; indeed, impulse is the devil.
Qin Beiting lowered his gaze, appreciating the subtle expressions on her face, a knowing smile playing on his lips.
"Tsk, alright, personal matters are settled. Let me talk about something important." Yu He suppressed her emotions and pushed his hand away. "I don't think I've ever properly introduced myself to you. Who I am."
As she spoke, she reached for a business card, but Qin Beiting's phone suddenly rang.
He glanced at the caller ID, turned, and went to the window to answer. Whatever the other party said, his face turned as cold as ice.
"I understand. Come to Emperor One Hotel to pick me up."
Seeing him about to leave, Yu He quickly said, "Give me five minutes..."
"Five minutes isn't enough. I'm not that quick," Qin Beiting interrupted her.
His long, well-defined fingers cupped her chin, his thumb heavily caressing her full, cherry-like lips. His dark pupils deepened, as if something was about to erupt but was forcefully suppressed.
"I'll call you when I get back," Qin Beiting said, then opened the door and left.
"Wait..." Yu He was about to call him back when her phone also rang. It was Zuo Ye.
Yu He answered, and Zuo Ye's impolite voice came through the receiver, "Baby, where are you now? I'm at Capital International Airport. Can you come pick me up~?"
Yu He remembered Alice saying he would come, but she didn't expect it to be so soon.
She watched Qin Beiting's retreating figure disappear down the corridor. It seemed their discussion wouldn't happen today, so she simply agreed, "Okay."
—
Capital International Airport.
Yu He drove to the exit Zuo Ye had mentioned and spotted him immediately in the crowd. He was tall and handsome, standing out amongst the stream of arriving passengers, and he was holding a large bouquet of red roses, making him exceptionally conspicuous.
Usually, the person picking up greets the arriving person with flowers, but he was the one being picked up and giving flowers.
"Baby, long time no see, did you miss me?" Zuo Ye saw Yu He get out of the car from afar, strode over, and gave Yu He a hug.
This was their customary greeting in Country F. Yu He hugged him briefly, "It hasn't been that long, has it?"
"To use a Chinese saying, 'A day apart feels like three autumns.' Zuo Ye shoved the flowers into the back seat, then snatched the car keys from Yu He's hand. "I'll drive. Aren't Yueyue and Duoduo here with you? I miss them too."
Yu He didn't stand on ceremony and sat in the passenger seat, giving him directions. "They're playing at home."
Their interaction was as natural as that of intimate lovers, and it was seen by Qin Beiting, who was on his way to the departure gate in his Rolls-Royce.
He looked at the natural smile on the woman's exquisite face, so different from the seductive look she had when she was with him. It was as if this side of her was more real, and her demeanor with him was all pretense.
Like putting on a show...
Qin Beiting, with a cold expression, boarded his private jet from the VIP lane.
Bei Ming, following behind him, felt that his boss's mood seemed off. Although his boss always had a stern expression, this coldness was different from his usual demeanor.
Qin Beiting sat in the front seat, looking at his phone as if he were texting someone. Although the cabin was heated, the temperature around him remained frigid, an unsettling chill.
So much so that no one dared to approach him to remind him to switch his phone to airplane mode as the plane was about to take off.
"Brother Ting, the plane is preparing for takeoff," Bei Ming finally whispered as he stepped forward to remind him.
Qin Beiting glanced at him and responded with a grunt, but still did not turn off his phone.
He opened a new message page and added Yu He's number. After hesitating for a long time, he couldn't think of anything to write to remind that woman not to flirt with others outside.
But then again, considering their current relationship, anything he said seemed inappropriate and might make him appear too concerned about her?
He typed and deleted, finally sending four words: "What are you busy with?"
After sending the message, Qin Beiting stared at his phone for five minutes, but there was no reply!
The thought of her being so close to that foreigner with curly brown hair, yet not replying to his message, inexplicably made him angry.
"Brother Ting, can we take off?" Bei Ming glanced at the time again and came to urge him.
Qin Beiting switched his phone to airplane mode and responded expressionlessly, "En."
Bei Ming breathed a sigh of relief and signaled the captain that they could start.
Once the plane stabilized, Bei Ming had just adjusted his posture to take a short nap when Qin Beiting's voice came from the front. "Bei Ming, have you ever been in love?"
Bei Ming thought he had misheard and leaned forward. "Brother Ting, what did you say?"
Qin Beiting glanced at him. "Never been in love?"
"Cough." Bei Ming cleared his throat uncomfortably. "No."
"And the person you liked?" Qin Beiting asked again.
Bei Ming thought for a moment. "There was. But she's already married."
Qin Beiting glanced at him again, his eyes seeming to say, "I never knew you were like this."
"It was when I liked her that she was single. She got married later," Bei Ming quickly explained.
Qin Beiting sneered, "So it was just unrequited love."
Bei Ming gave a couple of awkward chuckles.
"What does it feel like to like someone?" Qin Beiting suddenly asked.
Bei Ming scratched his head. "How can I describe it? I just felt she was special, different from ordinary women. But I was too busy with work and didn't have time to think too much. By the time I had some free time and thought of her, she was already engaged and about to get married."
Qin Beiting: "You deserve to be single."
Bei Ming: ...I don't want to be either, but it's all for work.
The atmosphere suddenly quieted. Bei Ming found it strange that his boss was suddenly asking these questions. For the past five years, he had never spoken about relationships. Now, asking about them, could it be because the sister-in-law was back?
"Brother Ting, have you met someone you're interested in?" he probed cautiously.
