Chapter 670 Not a Loss at All!

It was past nine or ten at night, and an interesting scene unfolded on the streets of Los Angeles.

A sexy and alluring woman, her face like frost and radiating anger, strode ahead. Behind her followed a persistent young man, who occasionally ran to the front of the beautiful and sexy woman, trying to flatter her with a few words.

However, every attempt by the young man to appease her was met with utter indifference.

Despite this, the young man remained tireless and unflagging.

"Elisa, you've really misunderstood me!"

"I don't see you as someone who puts profit first and lusts after money. I genuinely want to invite you to our country to start a business together."

Qin Chuan shamelessly trailed after Elisa, his explanations incessant.

"Because I know you were infuriated by those foolish people at the Alliance Corporation, and you must feel indignant that what you've worked so hard on for years has become a mere stepping stone for others."

"At the same time, I know that with your capabilities, there's no shortage of people willing to pay handsomely to recruit you."

"But those people are different from me!"

"Didn't you say you've always admired our country's history and culture? Going there would also help you change your environment, relax, and get away from those disgusting people here."

However, no matter how earnestly Qin Chuan explained, Elisa continued to ignore him, as if she hadn't heard a word, and kept walking forward.

Qin Chuan felt a pang of discouragement. But the moment he thought of Elisa standing silently behind him for who knew how long, he found renewed motivation.

The elevator had come down so early; Elisa had plenty of time to sneak away, yet she hadn't. What did that prove?

It proved that Elisa still cared about him deep down. After all, their relationship was special, not something ordinary people could compare to.

"But how can I possibly quell Elisa's anger?"

Qin Chuan's mind raced. He knew very well that if he couldn't resolve the misunderstanding with Elisa tonight, his trip to America would truly be in vain!

Therefore, he absolutely had to make Elisa calm down!

A wave of soreness spread upwards from his thighs, the consequence of rushing down thirty-six flights of stairs becoming increasingly severe.

The throbbing ache in his muscles made Qin Chuan feel as though his legs were about to give out. He hobbled, his legs feeling as heavy as if they were bound with lead balls.

Suddenly, he looked down at his legs, his eyes lit up, and a not-so-good idea formed.

Whether it worked or not, he had to try his best, it was better than this endless stalemate.

"Elisa!"

Qin Chuan, who had been trailing behind, hurried to catch up to Elisa and reached out to grasp her small hand.

Elisa, who had been walking with long strides, seemed to be on guard. Seeing his move, she nimbly dodged the grasping hand.

Unexpectedly, she heard a yelp, and the man beside her lost his balance, falling clumsily in front of her.

Elisa was startled and quickly stepped back, hearing a pained cry.

"Ah!! My leg! My leg!!"

On the hard ground, Qin Chuan clutched one leg, his face contorted in pain as he rolled back and forth.

Elisa stood coldly by, her frosty face devoid of any emotion.

She even crossed her arms and sneered, "Stop playing these childish tricks in front of me. I haven't used such 'self-inflicted injury' schemes since I was ten!"

However, Qin Chuan, lying on the ground with his hands tightly gripping one leg, seemed not to hear her. At the same time, his expression was ferocious, and beads of sweat dripped down his face.

His expression and posture seemed entirely genuine, as if he were truly seriously injured.

In fact, Qin Chuan was in real pain at that moment; there was no pretense involved.

Because the streetlights were dim, when he fell, he hadn't seen the several sharp small stones on the ground. His knee had landed directly on a sharp one.

Instantly, the searing pain shot through him, making him feel as though his leg had broken.

He must not have consulted the almanac before leaving home today; it was truly an unlucky day for him, suffering such a price just from a fall.

Seeing that Qin Chuan seemed not to hear her, Elisa turned and walked away in anger. She wanted to see how he would continue his act.

One step, two steps, three steps...

After walking several meters, and with no sign of the man getting up to chase her, Elisa slowed her pace. She bit her lip, filled with disdain and mockery.

"Heh, as expected, all men are the same. They can't even withstand such a small test!"

Angrily, she turned, ready to have a complete confrontation with Qin Chuan, to tell him to stop bothering her from now on, that their connection had reached its end.

But the moment she turned, Elisa's gaze froze.

She saw the man sitting on the roadside a few meters away. His rolled-up trousers were stained with blood, and under the streetlights, the crimson patches were glaringly bright.

"He's really hurt!!"

Seeing Qin Chuan's blood-soaked leg, Elisa's heart quickened. She rushed over and knelt down to check.

She found the injury on Qin Chuan's knee. There was a wound, not large but deep, from which bright red blood was continuously oozing.

"Qin Chuan, your knee is injured. I need to call a doctor quickly and take you to the hospital!"

Elisa said anxiously, and then began to quickly take out her phone from her bag.

Just then, a large hand grasped her small one, stopping her from making the call.

Elisa looked up at Qin Chuan in confusion.

"Elisa, you do care about me after all!"

Qin Chuan grinned at Elisa, his smile radiant.

Staring into Qin Chuan's intense, dark eyes that seemed to see through people, Elisa felt an inexplicable nervousness. She tried to retort:

"Who... who cares about you? Don't flatter yourself!"

"Let go of my hand quickly, I'm calling emergency services!"

Elisa said with a cold face, struggling to break free from Qin Chuan's grip.

"No need to call emergency services. This minor injury of mine is just a simple superficial wound. We can get it treated at any small clinic by the roadside."

Qin Chuan said.

Elisa, who had already pressed the emergency number, frowned upon hearing this: "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure. Where's your car? Give me a ride, and we can find a small roadside clinic to take care of it."

Qin Chuan said.

Upon hearing Qin Chuan ask about her car, Elisa seemed to recall something. A hint of hesitation flickered across her previously frosty, beautiful face, then quickly vanished, replaced by her usual coldness.

"Then wait here. I'll go get my car!"

With that, she stood up and walked away with long strides. Strangely, the direction she walked was back the way they had come.

Watching Elisa's graceful back and her direction towards retrieving the car, Qin Chuan was stunned for a moment, then a wide smile spread across his lips.

He looked down at the wound on his knee and couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Brother, the pain you're enduring and the blood you're losing tonight are not in vain!"

"For our common interests, you'll have to bear with it!"
