Chapter 134: 123 A false alarm

After handling the emergency, Grant once again pressed the intercom, this time to notify Camp and the others, "Camp, drive over here, we need to get the target to the hospital for urgent treatment. He's been shot in the thigh and is still bleeding, we must act quickly."

After Grant had controlled Baka, Jimmy retracted his revolver, first taking out the spent casings and the bullets that hadn't been fired, reloading it with 6 new bullets, and then placing the revolver back in the holster on his leg.

With nothing left for him to do, Jimmy used Heart Eye to start observing the entire house. Baka's safe house was an L-shaped single-story villa. All the gunfire had been concentrated in the middle and on the right side, in the kitchen area, while the left side seemed to be a living room, a dressing room, and a bathroom.

What surprised Jimmy was, given this was Baka's safe house, why were there no hidden rooms or the like? In theory, each boss would normally have a secret room or underground space in their safe house for storing funds, weapons, or other items.

Jimmy had scanned the surrounding walls and the floor below but hadn't found any large spaces. Either this safe house wasn't one of Baka's important strongholds, or his secret room was filled with objects, appearing as pitch black on Heart Eye, without gray or white gaps, so Jimmy couldn't detect it.

There was a security vault in the bedroom, which didn't look very large. Jimmy estimated it could only hold some documents or small items like jewelry. Heart Eye couldn't identify what was inside the vault, after all, it only saw in black and gray lines, not through direct vision.

The rest of the rooms didn't have any abnormal spaces, and the entire villa was very clean, even giving Jimmy the impression that it shouldn't belong to someone from India.

After Harten and the others came in, they first joined Grant in checking the bodies around them to ensure they were all killed, then checked the rooms on the left, confirming there was no one else. There was no need to check the right side kitchen as Jimmy had entered through the window there—if there had been anyone inside, he would have been in trouble long ago.

As they passed by Jimmy, they all patted him on the shoulder and gave him a thumbs up.

"Well done!" X3

Camp and his team weren't far from there. Within a few minutes, the sound of car engines starting could be heard. Camp and Jacob each drove over. Harten and Randall carried Baka, with Grant covering them with his gun from behind, and Jimmy followed at the end, walking out together.

Camp, Grant, and Randall took Baka to the hospital, while Jacob drove Jimmy and Harten, along with the unconscious Sentinel, back to their house.

Harten and Jacob locked the Sentinel in a room, and after coming out, Harten removed his Bullet-Proof Vest and weapons and stored them in a box. He then told Jimmy, "Jimmy, there's nothing else to do for now. Jacob will take you back later, go and get your things ready."

Jimmy looked at Harten. Since coming back, they hadn't arranged for someone to clean up Baka's house, where there were still 7 bodies unattended.

Jimmy: "What about the dead people in that house? How are they going to be dealt with?"

Harten: "We can't handle it ourselves, I'll contact a professional team to come and clean up, and carry out a complete inspection of that house."

Jimmy: "Harten, I have a request, could you not send the details of what I did in this case to the police department? Just notify the chief that the case is over."

Harten: "Don't worry, I'll take care of it. You won't have any trouble. Go pack your things."

Jimmy went upstairs to the bedroom and looked around. Something wasn't right. He had only brought the things he had on him when he arrived; what was there to pack? Harten had brought him, and he knew he hadn't brought anything.

Jimmy looked downstairs; Harten had already moved aside to make a phone call. But Heart Eye couldn't hear the sound, so he didn't know what Harten was talking about.

Jimmy felt uneasy. Surely the FBI wouldn't betray him, abandoning him after having used him.

Jimmy took out his 92F and 686 again to reorganize them, checked the magazines, and arranged his Duty Belt so that his pistol and baton were easily accessible. Then he walked down the stairs.

Jacob was already waiting at the door. Jimmy said goodbye to Harten and then followed Jacob out of the house.

Harten saw them out of the house, standing at the door as Jacob and Jimmy got into the car. He waved goodbye; Jacob started the car and then Harten called him back. He handed a card to Jimmy from his pocket, waved again, and Jacob and Jimmy drove away from the villa.

Jimmy didn't talk to Jacob during the drive, both of them quiet as mutes for the hour in the car. Jimmy's right hand almost never left the position of his guns until they reached the county police headquarters. Only then did Jimmy say goodbye to Jacob and got out of the car.

Jacob didn't leave the vehicle, he just floored the accelerator and quickly rejoined the traffic, speeding away.

Jimmy looked at his right hand; for over an hour, it had been switching between both gun grips, and his palm was sweaty. Since he started feeling that something was off with Harten, he was highly alert, fearing there might be trouble on the way.

As it turned out, Jimmy had been overthinking it—he had safely arrived at the county police headquarters after all.

Jimmy walked into the police station and settled at his own desk. Only after relaxing did he start to feel a wave of hunger. Good grief, from the moment Baka and his men appeared, through the fight, and until his return to the police station, Jimmy had barely eaten anything since noon, and it was nearly dark now.
