Chapter 213: 195 Jimmy's Whereabouts

Jimmy was shocked by the proposal the middle-aged man had just made; for a young man like him to stay at the academy and become an instructor would be too pitiful.

Most of the instructors at the academy were not young, appearing to be over 40 years old, and many of them had been injured, suggesting they had returned to the academy due to physical or other reasons.

The middle-aged man glanced at Jimmy, then lowered his head to flip through his profile again, reviewing it from start to finish before saying, "Don't worry, with your results, you won't be staying at the academy, although I would very much like you to stay on as a firearms instructor."

Jimmy remained silent, watching the middle-aged man repeatedly flip through the few pages of the profile. This must be his profile, but was there anything worth looking at back and forth?

Jimmy thought back to his training life over the past few months. Nothing unusual had happened, nor had he stood out too much, except during the practical case scenarios. That couldn't be helped; after all, the FBI is essentially a police force, just with federal powers, and compared with county police, they only have a broader coverage and handle more cases. For someone like Jimmy, the simulated cases were basically a breeze.

There were other officers who had transferred to the academy among the trainees, but Jimmy's Heart Eye talent was simply too remarkable. Compared with others, he could instantly pinpoint the location of a designated criminal in Hogan Alley. Naturally, his performance was a bit more outstanding than the rest.

Based on his performance over the past few months, he ought to at least qualify for a position as a detective in a large city, if not get into headquarters.

The middle-aged man said, "I've called you here today mainly to consult your thoughts and see where you would like to go. Think it over carefully."

Jimmy said, "Uh, then I hope to go to a division with more operations. I'm still young and not at the age to retire as an instructor at the academy."

The middle-aged man said, "Don't you have any particular place in mind?"

Jimmy said, "I'll follow the academy's arrangement."

The middle-aged man nodded, "Alright, I think I understand. You can go back now."

Jimmy said, "Thank you, goodbye, sir."

Jimmy rose and left the office, taking the same route out of the office building. He didn't dare to wander around the building randomly; it would be troublesome if anything happened.

After Jimmy left the office, the middle-aged man took out his phone and made a call.

"About that Jimmy you mentioned, he just left, but your plan might not pan out."

"Yes, staying in Quantico is not his ambition. Maybe there will be a chance to transfer him later, but for now, it seems he'll have to be sent out for a while."

"Yes, I understand. Goodbye."

The middle-aged man hung up the phone and picked up Jimmy's profile again. He drew out a piece of paper from it and then placed the profile back into the stack of files.

This piece of paper was a personal profile obtained from the observation of Jimmy's archives and academy study life by an analyst from BAU. Jimmy's official profile was exceedingly dazzling; his two-year career with the county police included handling numerous cases, with a record of collaborating on cases with the DEA and FBI. His marksmanship was excellent, resulting in a much higher number of felons shot dead than his peers.

In the academy, he memorized the required cultural course materials very clearly. Rote memorization might be an Asian forte; Jimmy was particularly outstanding in this respect compared to others. However, his performance in case clue analysis courses was poor.

The final assessment was that he had a big heart and was pressure-resistant, with a stable and upright character, harboring deeply hidden secrets. His snap judgment was strong, but his logical reasoning ability was weak. It was recommended that he joined the headquarters support unit or be assigned to a division with high case frequency as an operational staff member.

This deep-seated secret was very troublesome. Everyone has secrets, but ordinary people don't get profiled by BAU, so even if it's known that everyone has personal secrets, it doesn't matter.

Now, this profiling was the content Jimmy left after his profiling, and if nothing unexpected happened, this profile was to be retained in the archives. Several supervisors had already discussed Jimmy's assignment and had seen this personal profile, but still, they hadn't finalized his destination.

Apparently, it was after talking with Jimmy that the middle-aged man had made the final decision. He extracted the profile from the archive; as long as it wasn't archived, it wouldn't matter if others couldn't see it. Originally, this profile was created as a private favor from the bigwigs of BAU; it was not an official activity from the academy.

After leaving the office building, Jimmy returned to his dormitory. It was already the end of May, and the intensive five-month training was almost over. It was time for Jimmy to leave the room he had lived in for months.

Jimmy had already started to pack up his room in advance, ready for the assignment envelope to arrive in a few days so he could just grab his bag and leave.

As for the possibility of being eliminated, Jimmy didn't believe he would be. First of all, there weren't many trainees this time, and theoretically, all were internally recommended. As long as there were no particularly serious issues, everything should generally be okay.

Secondly, Jimmy's training performance was excellent. Apart from a few subjects where he scored poorly, he was among the top scorers in most other areas.

Finally, Jimmy was confident that his performance during the practical case scenarios would impress the big shots at the academy. He finished the training by resolving all the practical case scenarios.

If he were to be eliminated with such results, it must be because his secrets had been discovered. But since no one had come after him yet, it seemed unlikely.

During these months, Jimmy had hardly left the academy, only occasionally calling James, Cage, and others. Besides them, he had little need to contact friends or family in the outside world.

Perhaps due to the principle of not worrying each other, when Jimmy talked on the phone with James and Cage, they never mentioned their situations, only exchanging pleasantries. However, Jimmy was quite curious about how the police department was doing now, wondering if anything significant had happened since his departure.

Jimmy had learned from an instructor that the trainees had two weeks from leaving the academy to reporting for duty, which was their time to handle personal matters and take vacation. After months of intensive learning and training, this break was much needed for their mental and physical recuperation. Unless there were special requirements, most new agents would typically aim to report to their destination just in time.

In this free time, Jimmy planned to return to Little Rock City, meet up with everyone, and check if anything had gone wrong with his storage reserves.

In Little Rock City, he had two warehouses. One was rented under his name, used for old furniture and temporary items, the official one. The other was rented under a second identity he had obtained from the police department, containing items from tasks he did for Justin and some illicit goods.
