Chapter 90: Selia’s realization (part 2)
"I never knew you were one of the sages, I swear! It was never my intention to..."
Seeing the panic rapidly rising on the saintess face, I felt something stir deep down in my soul.
"Hey, stop!" I quickly closed the distance and grabbed Selia by her shoulders before pulling her out of the bow. "I have no idea what sort of a misconception or cultural conditioning you are showing me here, but I’m not sure what’s going on nor comfortable with such a sudden change!"
"But...!" By the time I managed to pull Selia up, her face was frozen with fear and anxiety, the kind I would expect to see on the face of someone who freely ranted in a company cafeteria about the job only to then learn the person he was ranting to was actually the company’s laidback CEO.
’Wait, that explains a lot, actually,’ I thought, only to then shake my head and dismiss the thought.
’What are the chances I’ve got it right just like that?’ I thought, once again pressing my lips into a thin line. ’Didn’t I say it myself, just a few moments ago? The easiest explanation doesn’t always mean the correct one?’
"But, but, but...!" Selia still refused to let go of whatever it was that was troubling her. "If you really are a sage, then as someone who dedicated your entire life to the study of the principles of this world, to be insulted by..."
Seeing Selia spiral like that, I quickly realized we were way past the point where words would do me any good.
And so, seeing no other option - other than slapping her in the face, which was something I would never do unless absolutely necessary - I reaffirmed my grasp over her shoulders before taking a step forward and, while holding her like some kind of a wobbly doll, pressed my lips against her mouth.
’Shit,’ I cursed in my mind while our lips touched, each deforming under the invasion of the other. ’I hope she won’t hate me for it...’
At first, Selia froze.
My kiss clearly caught her off guard. Yet, while surprising... it was clearly enough to knock some sense back into her head.
Feeling her arms relax, I pulled away, my breath withheld, while staring right back into her face.
"Whatever being a scholar means in this world, I was just doing what everyone else was doing back in my world. Even if learning for that long makes someone special here, it never did back where I come from. So please, since I don’t mind how we started at all..."
I didn’t even really know what I was talking about. By all means, I was simply rambling, throwing all the words I could come up with at the issue of Selia suddenly putting this great distance between us, one that both made me feel awkward about myself and filled my soul with grief.
Selia, however, didn’t use her voice to stop the flood of words coming out of my mouth. Instead, where I retreated a step to pull back, she advanced before closing my mouth with hers, reigniting the kiss that I just stopped.
This time, however, rather than merely pressing our mouths together, she turned her head slightly to the side, pushing with her lips against mine only to quickly wrap her arms around my neck and then...
’Oh damn...’
Feeling her tongue intrude into my mouth, my mind blanked out.
In a single moment, our kiss reached a whole new level, one I didn’t expect to achieve in this random spot on the path back to the most dangerous place in this world that I knew about.
And by all means, Selia didn’t stop there!
With her deep kiss easily sapping all the strength from my entire self, she pushed her leg half a step forward before easily overpowering me and forcing me to stumble back and fall down with my ass onto the rough stones of the road.
Minding not the fall at all, Selia continued to advance, instantly straddling me down as she pressed her chest against mine all the while her tongue continued to explore every crevice of my mouth before touching my own tongue and instantly starting a wrestling match with it.
More and more, Selia continued to suck on my mouth all the while overwhelming my mind with the warmth of her tongue and the weirdly sweet taste of her own saliva. And it wouldn’t be before I nearly choked down on that kiss of ours that she finally pulled back, ran her tongue over her lips to lick them clean and then gave me one hell of a cheeky smile.
"How was it?" she asked, lowering her hands off my neck only to grab me by my shirt and then keep me close, well within the range of another attack if I dared to leave her dissatisfied with my answer.
"What was that?" still stunned by such an intense make-out session, I could hardly gather my thoughts together to give her a proper answer.
"You said I made things awkward," she stated with a shrug of her shoulders. "It was my fault for pushing my preconceptions onto you which only made you uncomfortable," she explained while lowering her eyes, only to then give me a puppy-like look with her eyes turned up all the while her face was still lowered down. "So, how was my apology?"
Selia, for yet another time, left me completely speechless.
No matter how surprising that attack was, however...
I wasn’t the kind of a lying piece of shit to pretend like I didn’t like it!
"It was delicious..." I admitted, looking off to the side. Saying that out loud was one thing, but doing so while looking right into her face...?
Then, in an influx of unexpected boldness, I turned my eyes back to her before reaching out and running my forefinger and my thumb against the edge of her chin.
"To be honest, though," I leaned my head to the side, already taking aim for what I not only hoped but was also willing to act to make happen next, "after giving me a taste, you better not expect me to be satisfied with only so little of it."
