Chapter 79 That Was What She Deserved

"Ji Wenyun, everything I said is true," An Nuan said with absolute conviction.

An Nuan met Ji Wenyun's disdainful gaze, and a desolate smile curved her lips, her eyes filled with weariness.

He wouldn't believe such an explanation.

Hadn't she already explained? But he wouldn't believe it.

The warm, big brother from the past, for reasons unknown, had changed. His life had become a mess, and everything around her had changed.

Taking a deep breath, An Nuan seemed to have come to a realization. She looked into the distance, her hands clenched tightly at her sides, her lips pressed together as she spoke with difficulty, "Mr. Ji, I apologize. I must have been delirious to say such nonsensical things. I am truly sorry for causing you unnecessary trouble."

As she uttered these words, her heart was wracked with pain.

The people around her were ultimately drifting away from her, one by one.

"Mr. Ji, I'm truly sorry for the past while. Because of me, your mood has been affected. I'm sorry."

Her voice held a hint of a sob, yet she spoke calmly, "Mr. Ji, please rest assured, I will never appear before you again. From now on, there will be no more eyesores to offend your sight."

Ji Wenyun's hands clenched, his brow furrowed, and his face was filled with displeasure.

He had initially felt utter disgust towards An Nuan, but her words, however, filled him with a sudden sense of guilt. It was as if the fault lay entirely with him.

Yet, he had never done anything.

Ji Wenyun shook his head, trying to calm himself down and forcefully drive away the thoughts that were disturbing him.

How could he have such dangerous thoughts?

His gaze fell on An Nuan, his eyes filled with wariness. He suspected she was plotting something.

This woman was truly terrifying.

If he hadn't known how malicious she was, and how she had hurt Wanqing, he would have truly believed her words.

His eyes blazed with anger, and he said coldly, "Are you finished? If you are, get out immediately."

"Let me tell you, I won't believe a single word you say."

"Stop wasting my time."

An Nuan looked at the furious Ji Wenyun and suddenly let out a laugh.

She was truly pathetic.

Shouldn't she be leaving immediately now? What was she doing here, talking? Did she still naively believe that Ji Wenyun would believe what she said?

"Mr. Ji, I wish you happiness."
