Chapter 351: Chapter 351: What’s the Difference from Admitting You’re the Culprit? (1)
Vincent Hawthorne walked in accompanied by Colin.
Several shareholders greeted Vincent in unison.
Vincent nodded and looked at Aidan Lynch: "Where exactly is Elias?"
"Mr. Hawthorne, President Hawthorne instructed that no matter who asks, his whereabouts cannot be revealed."
Vincent exclaimed in anger, "I’m his father; are you telling me I can’t know either?"
Aidan bowed his head, his expression respectful: "President Hawthorne instructed, it’s anyone."
Just that one sentence almost pushed Vincent to the edge of fury.
Yet, no matter how Vincent raged, Aidan remained silent, eyes lowered.
Vincent took a deep breath, pointing trembling fingers at Aidan in outrage: "Go ahead and follow Elias in his nonsense. Someday, Elias will pay for his recklessness with his life!"
...
The North Family villa, in the living room.
Claire North had just stepped into the living room when the waiting Brenda Adler quickly pulled her into a room, impatiently asking.
"Claire, news from outside says Baby is dead, and Elias’s life is unknown. Is it true?"
"It’s true."
Brenda was shocked: "How could this happen! Wasn’t it..." Realizing her voice had risen, she glanced around and lowered her voice: "Wasn’t it supposed to be just a small dose of poison for Baby Hawthorne, framing Raina North, to give you a chance to get close to Elias? How did it get so serious?"
Mentioning these events, Claire’s face also didn’t look good. She gritted her teeth: "That was the plan, but who would have thought Elias trusted Raina so much. He risked his life for her and, worse, even knowing the residual poison hadn’t cleared from his body, he still supported Raina. As a result, the poison lingered, and now his life hangs by a thread!"
Brenda frowned: "So Elias is really done for?"
Claire nodded: "Yes, I privately asked Void one day, and they said if they don’t find the antidote, Elias won’t last long."
"What will we do? If Elias really dies, won’t we lose both the battle and the general?"
Claire was well aware of this logic — the mere thought of it made her particularly irritable.
If she hadn’t seen Elias, she would have been willing, even happy, to marry Beau Shelby. But she saw Elias and fell for him at first sight, to the point of refusing the marriage proposal from The Shelby Family, leaving Beau utterly disappointed in her.
Recalling Beau’s weary sigh yesterday, Claire knew that even if she wanted to go back now, Beau probably wouldn’t take her back.
Worse, she’s now labeled as an unwed mother.
Although the identity of the biological mother of The Hawthorne Family’s young heir is prestigious, what use is it if that heir is dead?
What Claire could think of, Brenda considered much more clearly.
She knitted her brows: "If Baby Hawthorne is dead, so be it, but Elias has to live. Isn’t there an antidote that can save him? You must go find that person and obtain the antidote!"
Claire exclaimed in shock: "If I do that, how is it different from admitting I’m the culprit!"
"Of course, there’s a difference," Brenda said. "Isn’t that Void person in Southgate? Go plead with her, ask her to save Elias. By doing this, you’ll be seen as the biggest contributor, and it’s only right for you to care for him. If Void can save Elias, great. If not, secretly feed Elias the antidote yourself, and he’ll recover.
When Elias wakes up and sees how hard you’ve worked for him, unless he’s heartless, he’ll be moved, and then your opportunity will come."
