Chapter 298: Chapter 298: I’ll Make Sure You Die Just as Thoroughly (2)
"Not enough living, and you teamed up with Elias Hawthorne to deceive me? And kidnapping! And poison! Why don’t you just go to heaven!" Raina North’s anger flared up even more, reaching out to grab Casper North’s ear.
"Isn’t it because I thought Raina’s so wise and mighty that she’d immediately know we made up the story? If we really wanted to fool you, at least we’d find a kidnapper who had a grudge against you, and make the scene more thrilling. Like, I almost got stabbed in the heart or something..."
Raina, raising her voice in anger, said: "Casper North! Say that again!"
"I won’t say it, won’t say it." Seeing Raina glaring at him, Casper North meekly added, "Actually, it’s not entirely a lie. My sister and I were really kidnapped, and they wanted to use us to threaten mommy."
Raina frowned, "What exactly happened?"
Seeing his mom pressing for answers, Casper North quickly recounted the whole incident like pouring beans, ending with, "If it weren’t for my quick thinking and thorough preparation, we’d probably be screwed this time."
Raina sneered coldly, "Even if you were screwed, it’s because you’re stupid!"
Knowing full well that she didn’t get along with Claire, yet still leaving with her, what else could it be if not stupidity?
"Mommy, please don’t be mad. I promise I’ll never be such a jerk again. If you’re still not satisfied, just spank me." Saying that, he offered his little cheek.
"Do you really think I can’t bear to hit you?" Raina said, raising her hand, but no matter what, she couldn’t bring herself to do it, and her eyes couldn’t help but turn red.
"Mommy, I’m sorry, I’m such a jerk. I was wrong." Casper North immediately regretted, rushing into Raina’s arms, hugging her tightly: "I promise I won’t dare to do it again. If I do, may I never make money in my life."
"Shut up!" Raina scolded angrily, seeing Casper North looking up at her with a pitiful face, her heart softened.
She sighed and held Casper North in her arms.
In fact, how could she not understand Casper North’s intentions?
Casper knew she cared about Baby Hawthorne, worried she might regret all her life for not being able to save Baby Hawthorne, turning it into a heartache.
Raina stroked her son’s head, speaking seriously, "Casper, I hope you understand, I do care for Baby, but I will never allow you and Shea to take risks like that. Understand? You are mommy’s children, my most precious treasures. And you should also trust your mommy."
"Mommy, I was wrong. I’ll never dare again." Casper North raised his hand, "Mommy, I swear."
Raina took her son’s hand down, "You foolish child."
Casper North looked up and grinned foolishly.
Raina breathed in the sweet milky scent of her son, finally feeling at ease, and sleepiness overwhelmed her as she cuddled Casper North and drifted off.
When Raina woke up, Casper North was still sprawled out in all directions, asleep.
She pulled the blanket over Casper North, glanced over, and saw her phone flashing. Picking it up, it was Anya Forrest calling.
Raina walked out with her phone.
As soon as she answered, Anya’s anxious voice came through, "Raina, Casper and Shea are missing. I’ve been searching all night and couldn’t find them."
Raina realized at once that when Shea and Casper went out, they didn’t inform Anya.
She quickly said, "Casper and Shea are with me, and they’re perfectly safe."
Anya slumped back onto the sofa, her tense heart instantly relaxing.
Last night, after having dinner with Raymond Thorne, she couldn’t find Casper and Shea when she returned. Over the years, Raina had offended many people, and she feared someone had taken out their anger on the two kids by kidnapping them.
