Chapter 327: Chapter 327: The Hawthorne Family Tradition—Turning Against One’s Own (Part 1)

Aaron Warren gasped sharply, wanting to speak, but the searing pain rendered him speechless.

At this moment, Vincent Hawthorne and his wife, supported by others, approached.

Seeing that his unfilial son was still defending that woman, Raina North, at such a time, his anger flared immediately.

"Unworthy son! Do you still see me as your father?"

Elias Hawthorne cast a cold glance at his father, "Why bother asking and humiliating yourself?"

Vincent nearly lost his breath, almost collapsing, luckily supported by others.

"For this woman, do you disregard familial ties and right from wrong?"

"Blinded by desire, disowning all relations— isn’t that the tradition of The Hawthorne Family?" Elias glanced at Susan Kensington beside him.

"You, you..."

"Vincent, calm down," Susan quickly tried to ease Vincent, looking disapprovingly at Elias, "Elias, you might not like me, but Vincent is still your father, and his health is poor. Can’t you show some consideration? And it’s not your father’s fault in this matter. Raina North isn’t as innocent as you think; don’t be deceived by her."

"My woman can deceive me however she wants. In front of her, I’m merely blind." Elias asserted arrogantly, "As for you, have I been too lenient lately?"

Susan’s expression stiffened, recalling Elias’s methods, and she immediately shrank back, not daring to speak.

"What are you doing? I’m not dead yet, and you’re bullying your stepmother in front of me!" Vincent immediately stepped up to protect his delicate wife.

"Bullying? Do you really want me to bully her?"

Vincent instantly fell silent.

"...The issue now is Raina North, this vicious woman poisoned me and attacked me. I won’t let her get away today." Turning his head, Vincent called out to a police officer, "Officer, I want to file a report. Raina North attempted murder by poisoning. Please proceed according to the law."

"Officer, I also request you act according to the law and clear my name." Raina, who had been watching the scene, finally spoke, "These people first threatened and intimidated me, then framed and defamed me. I’m the victim here."

As she spoke, Raina took out her phone, playing a recording of the earlier conversation, where Claire North and others threatened her using Wanda Woods’s safety as leverage.

"Raina North, how dare you record us!" Claire North immediately panicked.

If this dialogue were submitted, they would be labeled kidnappers.

Susan Kensington shot an intense glare at Claire; by saying that, she was practically admitting the recording’s authenticity.

"Officer, this is a misunderstanding. We didn’t kidnap Director Woods; we merely had some work-related issues to discuss with Raina."

"Is this really what you wanted to discuss?" Aidan Lynch asked, holding up documents retrieved from a trash bin, "Divorce agreement, equity transfer papers, confession... So many people late at night, deliberately avoiding President Hawthorne. You’re using force to pressure our lady into signing these unfair agreements? It’s 2021, and yet you set up a private court to do this. It’s illegal."

Elias snatched the documents from Aidan, his sharp gaze landing on the divorce papers.

"You have quite the nerve. Even without my presence, you managed to ’divorce’ me."

Elias’s gaze fixed on Vincent Hawthorne and his wife, making it obvious to anyone watching that he was truly enraged.

Vincent opened his mouth to explain, but Elias didn’t even give him the chance.

Instead, he handed the divorce papers to the police.
