Chapter 495: Above the "Sea Line"

The Charming Beauty slowly approached the dock, and Tilly stepped out of the cabin to find the dockside already filled with witches who had come to greet her.

"Lady Tilly, you're finally back!" Moriel, with the help of her magic servant, was the first to rush forward.

"Ah, that's so sneaky!" Honey exclaimed.

"Yeah, where's the trajectory? Open the door and let us through too!" Shadow chimed in.

"Stop it, my ability isn't for you to harass Lady Tilly!"

A burst of laughter erupted from the crowd, and seeing the genuine smiles on everyone's faces, Tilly felt the depression that had been weighing on her heart these past few days dissipate considerably.

No matter what, this was her home, a kingdom built by witches.

Stepping onto the dock, Camilla Dary greeted her. "You've been gone for quite a while, I was worried you wouldn't come back."

"How could I?" Tilly smiled. "I just didn't expect this Month of the Evil Spirits to last so long. How is Sleeping Island?"

"Of course, since you entrusted it to me, I naturally wouldn't let you down," Camilla said, patting her chest. "Overall, things have improved. Opening the 'Sleeping Spell' was indeed a good idea. I'll report the details to you later, but for now... I'd better hand you over to all the witches," she winked, "otherwise I'll be devoured alive."

As a noblewoman from the royal capital, Camilla was very skilled in managing affairs and was the main executor of Tilly's witch gathering operation. It was thanks to her that Tilly dared to leave the fjord for so long to explore the western region of the kingdom.

She shook her head helplessly, walked past the "Sleeping Island Chief Manager," and just as she raised her hand to greet everyone, she was surrounded by layers of witches.

"Your Highness, did you see my brother? How did he treat you?"

"I heard there are also witch organizations in the small town, will they come and live with us?"

"Is it true that the people in that remote town don't lack food and clothing and all live in new houses?"

"It's good that you're back, everyone missed you very much."

Tilly responded to everyone's questions and concerns one by one until Sylvie flew onto the dock with a pile of books, diverting everyone's attention to these "priceless treasures."

"What is this?" someone asked curiously.

"Documents from ancient relics?"

"Doesn't look like it, the pages are all new, probably a legendary story?"

"Or a theater script? Seriously, I haven't seen a theatrical performance in a long time."

"Ah... but what if I can't read?"

Tilly clapped her hands to quiet everyone down. "This is a gift from Prince Roland Wimbledon - including writing manuals, basic mathematics, and natural principles! Simply put, they are knowledge!"

"Know...ledge?"

Most of the witches looked confused, while only a few noble witches, including Camilla, looked surprised. "Do you want to impart knowledge to everyone?"

Tilly nodded. "This is also the only shortcut to improving our own abilities."

Roland had mentioned that popularizing education was not an easy task, it required a lot of money and time - when people put down their work and opened a book to learn how to write, it meant that the territory temporarily lost a portion of its labor force; in addition, encouraging them to learn actively also required financial support, plus the salaries of teachers and the construction of school buildings, all of which added up to a considerable figure. Most importantly, it was not like doing business, it would not show immediate results, and required the ruler to implement it consistently over a long period of time.

But the changes it brought were impressive, both to ordinary people and even more so to witches. Tilly had already witnessed this in Border Town. Before going to the western region, she had never imagined that a group of ordinary people could exude such vitality and vigor.

After returning to the palace, just as she was preparing to start arranging the education popularization plan according to Roland's approach, Ashes knocked on the door. "Thunder wants to see you."

"Ha, long time no see, Princess Tilly," Thunder was still the same as ever, with a bright and friendly smile. "How was it? Did this trip to the Western Region solve the problems in your heart?"

"To be honest, I didn't find the answer," Tilly said, shaking her head with a smile. "He still has some reservations towards me. But in the current situation, these things have become less important... By the way, do you know about devils?"

"Monsters that appear from hell?" Thunder raised an eyebrow. "I often hear about them in epics and legendary stories, brave knights stand up and use spears stained with dragon blood to kill these brutal and terrifying enemies."

"This time, they are no longer enemies in legends." She exhaled.

"Uh... what do you mean?"

"I don't know if those dragons exist, but devils - they are real," Tilly briefly explained the Witch Union and the Battle of Divine Will. "The location of the Four Kingdoms is just a past barbaric land. If we lose again, humanity will have nowhere to retreat."

"There's actually such a thing!" Thunder was speechless, and only exclaimed after listening. "The relics all over the place are all the work of witches, and Border Town actually found an ancient witch from more than four hundred years ago? This... this is really incredible! The gains from your trip are more than all the secrets I've discovered in my past life!"

Tilly was slightly stunned. "Aren't you afraid?"

"Afraid? Of course, there will be..." he said excitedly, "but compared to the burning desire for exploration in my heart, this fear is nothing! Damn, I really want to go to Graycastle in person to see that living relic!"

The Fifth Princess was somewhat amused, the main purpose of going to the Western Region was to see Agatha, not her own daughter, and she didn't know whether to be happy or sad for Lightning.

"If it weren't for this sailing experience, the title of the greatest explorer in the fjord would probably only be given to you," Thunder said after a moment of sighing. "But... I also discovered something extraordinary."

"Please tell me."

"I went to the east of the 'Sea Line' again."

"Sea Line?" Tilly asked in confusion. "What is that?"

"Ah, I forgot you were still in Border Town when I came back last time." He scratched the back of his head. "It's a cliff made of seawater that divides the sea surface into two planes, but ships can travel freely on it, like... spiders climbing walls."

"What, that's impossible!"

"My reaction was the same as yours when I first saw it, but the Sea Line does exist." Thunder said proudly. "What's even more incredible is that I drove the Courageous and climbed over the Sea Line, and luckily witnessed the entire process of a high tide - if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would never have imagined how spectacular the scene was. The speed of the seawater gradually increased, and finally rushed towards the low point like falling off a cliff. If it weren't for Moriel's servant protecting the ship, the Courageous would probably have been broken in half on the spot!"

"I turned the rudder to make the bow point straight in the direction of the incoming seawater, and with the strong wind blowing at the time, the two actually maintained an extremely delicate balance. The Courageous could no longer move forward, but it would not be washed off the cliff by the water." He took a breath at this point, as if savoring the excitement at the time. "Of course, the waterline is not a real cliff. We have all seen what waterfalls look like, straight water curtains, splashing water, and the roar of water impact - but there, except for the accelerating flow of seawater, there is nothing. I know that even if the Courageous is pushed off the waterline, it will only return to the lower side in the same way as the climbing process."

"And then?" Tilly asked impatiently.

"Then the whirlpool sea was filled - only by standing on the Sea Line can you clearly see all this," Thunder lowered his voice. "Three Gods above, I don't know how to describe the shock of that moment, the height difference of the Sea Line changed from dozens of feet to a few feet, and the sea below rose. This is the truth of the tide!"
