Chapter 790: The Will of the World
“Who is your master?”
Roland felt that this fellow, the Emotion Corrupter, was much more expressive. Asking a few more questions might reveal more information. At the same time, he gestured behind him, signaling Faldi and Tyene to leave the area as soon as possible. If they were to be caught in a disadvantageous situation and needed to escape, these witches of his could run faster.
“It is the Son of the All and the Nothing, an existence you cannot comprehend,” it spread its red-glowing, void-like wings and pressed its hand to the ground. “Your petty tricks are meaningless here. You think you can let them run now? Too late!”
Crimson blood flowed from beneath it and rapidly spread throughout the room. In the blink of an eye, the floor, walls, and ceiling of the hall had all turned blood-red.
Ling, having lost its hiding place, was directly ejected from the wall and fell beside Phyllis.
“W-What is this?” Faldi whispered from behind. Roland turned his head and saw red and black intertwined void tentacles, each with small claws, firmly trapping the witches’ hands and feet in place… He seemed to have seen the appearance of those tentacles somewhere before.
However, the situation had suddenly taken a sharp turn for the worse, and he no longer had time to think about so much.
The Warm Current circulated frantically within his body. Roland gathered all his strength and charged towards this strange enemy in front of him.
“Oh? You’re not affected?” The magic monster was taken aback and opened its palm towards him. “Then how about this?”
A powerful and unparalleled force erupted from its palm, knocking Roland away. The force was as great as a direct hit from a hammer, and he finally stopped after crashing into the wall. With a dull thud, he felt a burning sensation in his back, and it felt as if his internal organs had shifted.
“Cough, cough,” he couldn’t help coughing twice and then tasted a sweet, fishy taste coming from his throat.
“Your Majesty!”
Phyllis cried out anxiously. At this moment, she was the only one besides Roland who could move. The blade demon claws on her back danced, cutting off the tentacles extending from the ground one after another. However, the tentacles were endless, and she couldn’t get close to him for a while.
Now was the most critical moment.
But Roland’s mind was surprisingly clear.
He felt no fear in his heart, as if the emotion of fear had been removed from his brain.
The Warm Current was flowing faster and faster. Accompanied by the sound of his pounding heartbeat, he felt an incredible change taking place within him.
The magic of this world was drawing closer to him.
Even the void streamers covering the walls had become sluggish, and the crimson blood threads flowing past him automatically bypassed his body. And where he touched, a hint of blue appeared in the dark red.
This process was completely beyond his control, and he didn’t know what was happening. A voice kept echoing in his ears, and the chaotic shouts gradually turned into a single tone.
“Kill it, kill it!”
The monster also noticed something was wrong. A trace of fluctuation finally appeared in its dry voice, "What's going on... What did you do to the magic?"
Roland did not answer. He felt that the Warm Current had expanded to its limit, and his body almost subconsciously made the movement of bending his knees and pushing off the wall. The next moment, he shot straight at the enemy like a cannonball!
“Kill kill kill kill kill it it it it!”
“Die!” The monster used its old trick, pushing out with its hand again—
However, this time Roland was not knocked down by the great force. For the first time, he saw the Warm Current rush out of his body, forming a blue light screen in front of him. The two collided together, bursting out with brilliant and dazzling light! Then, he flew straight into the monster’s embrace, braving the streamers.
A punch landed.
The expected sense of impact did not come. His fist seemed to hit a mass of soft liquid. He saw his arm disappear into the monster's body, only a finger's width away from those star swirls. Roland gritted his teeth and simply opened his five fingers, grabbing the most conspicuous star disk on its chest.
The monster immediately let out an earth-shattering roar, "No... This is the master's power, how can you... touch it!"
The star-like disk trembled, gradually changing from a rich crimson to a blue-white color, but this process was extremely slow and often repeated. Roland felt like he was wrestling with a stubborn bull. Fortunately, more and more magic gathered towards him, and the whole world seemed to merge with him.
“I see… I understand!” A vortex-like single eye opened on the top of the monster’s head, “You are… the culprit who created this world, it is you who made the master overwhelmed!”
“You already claim to be the All and the Nothing, can I still affect you?” Roland sneered.
“You don’t understand anything! The master is omnipotent, but he cannot personally end all this… Go back, don’t come here again, your actions are destroying everything… Zzz… Not only yourself, but even all living things… Zzz… will be cut off because of you!”
Its voice became increasingly blurred, as if it was suffering from severe interference.
Roland felt the resistance of the star disk was weakening, and the process of changing from red to white was getting faster and faster.
“The entire life is cut off?” He looked back at the weak witches sitting on the ground and said in a deep voice, “No, only you will be cut off… I don’t know where you came from, or what kind of plans you have, but there is no doubt that this world will be better without you!”
“From… Zzz… Bottomless Realm… No plans… Zzz… This is the rule…” The words the monster spat out could no longer form a complete sentence, and Roland noticed that it was no longer as emotional as before, and its voice became flat and monotonous, like a machine reciting a fixed answer.
When it said the last sentence, the resistance in Roland’s hand disappeared instantly.
The star disk spun rapidly and attracted the surrounding star swirls, and then converged into an extremely bright white light. For a moment, Roland seemed to hear the heartbeat of the earth.
The scene of the magic surge this time was far better than the previous two times. The monster shrunk into a spherical ball, and a silver-white beam of light burst from it, reaching the ceiling and lasting for a long time. Standing in front of this light, Roland felt an unspeakable satisfaction, and the pleasure his body received exceeded the sum of the two times, and nothing could compare to it.
The witches' injuries were not too serious, they had only exhausted their magic power and could barely walk on their own. According to Phyllis, when he was in a stalemate with the monster, the magic power of the four of them was absorbed by him, which was almost impossible in the real world.
After so many incredible changes in just one night, one more wouldn't matter.
After a brief search, Roland carried a heavy safe and the car keys he had scavenged from the man in the suit, and quietly left the foothill villa with the witches.
