Chapter 1657: Chapter 816: Bloodred Giant Wolf, Split into Three?

“We did it!” Qing Shuang exclaimed excitedly.

Luo Chen stepped forward quickly, carefully checking the Spiritual Fox to ensure it wasn’t injured.

Then, he took out a specially designed cage from his waist and gently placed the Spiritual Fox inside.

“Didn’t expect things to go so smoothly this time…”

Luo Chen said with a smile.

However, before he could celebrate for long.

Rumbling sounds started coming in the direction where he was.

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang exchanged a glance, seeing a hint of anxiety in each other’s eyes.

They quickly hid the cage and then each found a concealed spot to hide and prepare to observe the situation.

The rumbling grew closer, and through the gaps in the snow, Luo Chen saw a group of massive silhouettes moving slowly in the distance.

His heart skipped a beat, realizing that this might be some kind of large Spiritual Beast on the Ice Plateau.

“Qing Shuang, be careful, this could be a big problem.” Luo Chen whispered a warning.

Qing Shuang nodded, already gripping her bow and arrow, ready to face any potential danger.

As the silhouettes drew closer, Luo Chen finally saw their true form.

It was a group of giant ice bears, their fur shimmering silver in the sunlight, leaving deep marks with their massive claws in the snow.

“Ice bears?” Qing Shuang’s voice trembled slightly, evidently fearing these powerful Spiritual Beasts.

Luo Chen gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, knowing the ice bears were extremely aggressive and being discovered by them would mean great danger.

The herd of ice bears slowly passed by their hiding spot, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang held their breath, not daring to make a sound.

Fortunately, the ice bears seemed oblivious to their presence, moving forward on their own.

Once the last ice bear disappeared from sight, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang finally breathed a sigh of relief and emerged from their hiding places.

“Looks like we’ll have to be even more cautious.” Luo Chen said.

Qing Shuang nodded, a hint of determination in her eyes, “Luo Chen, let’s keep going, the ice Spiritual Fox is still waiting for us.”

Luo Chen smiled and patted Qing Shuang on the shoulder, “Alright, let’s go.”

They continued to search the Ice Plateau, carefully avoiding potential dangers.

After some effort, they successfully captured a few ice Spiritual Foxes.

With the task completed, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang decided to return to the Alliance.

They set off on their return journey with the captured Spiritual Foxes.

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang initially planned to head straight back to the Alliance’s base.

But the snowstorm made it difficult for them to discern the path ahead.

After three days and nights of continued travel.

They realized that they seemed to have completely lost their way.

“Oh no, we’ve gone the wrong way…”

Luo Chen and Qing Shuang stood on the vast Ice Plateau, the surrounding snowstorm seemingly unending, quickly burying their footprints.

Luo Chen furrowed his brows, scanning the area, trying to find some familiar landmarks, but everything was covered by snow, making it hard to identify.

“Luo Chen, what should we do?” Qing Shuang asked with a hint of urgency in her voice.

Luo Chen took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.

“We need to find a place to shelter from the wind, and when the snowstorm subsides a bit, we’ll figure things out.”

Qing Shuang nodded, knowing this was no time to panic.

They began searching nearby for a place to shield themselves from the wind.

Luckily, they found a small cave, not large but sufficient to temporarily hide from the snowstorm.

“Let’s rest here and wait for the storm to pass before heading out.” Luo Chen suggested.

Qing Shuang nodded, and they walked into the cave.

Though it was cold inside, compared to the outside storm, it was already a warm haven.

Luo Chen took out some dry food from his bag and handed it to Qing Shuang.

“Eat something to maintain your strength.”

Qing Shuang accepted the dry food, and gave Luo Chen a grateful look.

“Thank you, you should eat some too.”

They quietly ate their dry food, the only sound in the cave being their chewing.

After finishing, Luo Chen began checking their supplies, ensuring everything was secure.

“How much food and water do we have left?” Qing Shuang asked.

“Food will last a few more days and we have enough water; as long as we stay calm, finding our way back shouldn’t be a problem.” Luo Chen replied.

Qing Shuang nodded, knowing Luo Chen always came up with solutions.

“Luo Chen, have you thought about what we’ll do if we never find the way back?” Qing Shuang asked with a note of worry.

Luo Chen was silent for a moment, then said, “If it comes to that, we’ll have to find other means to survive on the Ice Plateau; though dangerous, it surely has its ways to survive.”

Qing Shuang listened and a resolute look flashed in her eyes.

“Then let’s work together to find our way back.”

Luo Chen nodded with a smile, knowing Qing Shuang was a strong girl, and with her by his side, he felt much more at ease.

In the following days, Luo Chen and Qing Shuang explored near the cave, trying to find some clues.

They cautiously avoided potential dangers, while gathering food and water sources.

One day, while out exploring again, Luo Chen noticed some unusual tracks.

“Qing Shuang, look at these tracks; they look like footprints of some animal but not the usual ones seen on the Ice Plateau.” Luo Chen pointed to the marks on the ground.

Qing Shuang crouched down to examine them closely, “These footprints are very fresh, must have been made not long ago.”

“Let’s follow these footprints and see if we can find some clues.” Luo Chen suggested.
