Half a Brick

Chapter 65 Cremating My Sister

"So, who are you planning to find?" I asked Baldy.

"Uh? This?" Baldy stroked his shiny bald head for a long time, as if he hadn't originally come looking for any master. He had just randomly entered a roadside shop, chatted with me a few times, felt that I seemed to have some skill, and also thought my price was reasonable, so he looked for me.

"Master, where are we going now?" Baldy immediately changed the subject.

"To the place where you gambled dice with that woman. I need to go to the scene of the crime to take a look."

"This? I'll give it a try." Baldy looked embarrassed. "That villa is already someone else's. Whether we can get in depends on whether the current owner is easy to talk to."

"There's always a way. Drive."

"Okay."

Baldy was very obedient and immediately started the car and drove to the villa.

As a result, I miscalculated. When the car reached the mountain, there really was no road.

As soon as we arrived at the villa area, we saw smoke and flames rising into the sky from a distance, and several fire trucks whizzed past us.

I thought to myself that things weren't looking good and urged Baldy to speed up.

Baldy was even more anxious than I was and followed closely behind the fire truck.

Sure enough, the fire was in Baldy and Sweetie's love nest.

When we arrived, the fire had been brought under control. The firefighters were braving the smoke to search inside.

Soon, a charred female corpse was carried out. The limbs were all burned out of shape, and the hair and eyebrows were gone. Only a little good flesh remained on the face, enough to barely make out her appearance.

No wonder Baldy was so infatuated. This girl's face was indeed beautiful. Even though she was smoky and unrecognizable, she still exuded charm.

"Sweetie!"

As soon as Baldy saw the corpse being carried out, he immediately beat his chest and wailed, rushing over to hug the body and express his grief, not even caring that this woman had swindled all his wealth. What a romantic.

The staff quickly pulled Baldy away, telling him that although the fire was under control, the area around the fire was still very dangerous, and the body was already cold and had no hope of survival. They told Baldy to restrain his grief and stay in a safe place, and not to interfere with the firefighters.

Baldy refused to listen to reason, pushed away the staff, and tried to grab the corpse. I quickly pulled him back and, incidentally, touched the female corpse's shoulder.

Baldy wanted to continue crying, but I stuffed him into the car, started the engine, and sped away.

"Are you rushing to a funeral? Sweetie and I were in love after all. Can't you let me spend more time with her?" Baldy said, sniffling.

"Hey, hey, that's enough. She stole all your wealth. Aren't you going to hate her so quickly?"

Baldy wiped away his tears and scolded me for being cold-blooded, saying that everyone was gone, but I only cared about money.

"You don't care? If you didn't care, why did you come to me? Anyway, it's your money. If you don't want to find it, I won't force you."

"What do you mean? Sweetie is dead. Can I still get my money back?"

"Isn't that obvious? What did you hire me for?"

Baldy took a few tissues and wiped his face clean, put his glasses back on, took a few deep breaths, cheered up, and asked where we were going now.

"The crematorium."

"Huh?"

"Don't 'huh.' Do you have any friends at the crematorium? If you do, contact them. It might be helpful."

Baldy looked disgusted. "What would I know them for? It's not like people in my family die often."

"Aren't you a drug dealer?"

"I mainly deal with medical equipment."

"It's all the same. You need to connect with hospitals. You're so familiar with the people in the hospital. They should know people in the crematorium, right? If you want to get your wealth back, the crematorium is a crucial step. Look through your phone book again."

Baldy reluctantly flipped through his phone and finally made a call. It turned out that he not only knew people in the crematorium but also had an old flame. However, after he met Sweetie, he neglected her and later broke off contact with her, so he was embarrassed to look for her now.

However, Baldy was fickle, but the crematorium girl was still deeply in love. She was so happy to receive Baldy's call that she almost cried. When she learned that Baldy had been cheated out of a lot of money by that sweet little star, she gritted her teeth and cursed the little star to die a horrible death, wanting to put her in a drawer and push her in to be burned.

Of course, Baldy still had a bit of sense and didn't say that all his money had been swindled away by the sweet little star. He still acted like he was rich and generous.

Knowing him, you would think he was in debt because of Sweetie; if you didn't, you would think he wasn't concerned about the money, but just couldn't swallow his anger.

Baldy was clear-headed. He knew what the crematorium girl liked about him and that she wasn't after his bald head and big belly.

"Girl, you were right. That sweet little enchantress will be sent to you tonight. However, you definitely won't be able to burn her. Just keep an eye on her for us. As soon as she arrives at the crematorium, tell us immediately." I said to the crematorium girl with a smile.

"This?" The crematorium girl seemed a little dazed.

"You just need to make a phone call. You don't need to worry about anything else. This matter is very important to your dear brother. As long as you do it well, he will definitely thank you seriously."

I winked at Baldy.

Baldy immediately said, "Yes, as long as you keep an eye on that corpse and report her situation to us in time, I will have a son with you. My old woman has problems and can't have children. When you have a son, he will be my only heir."

The crematorium girl immediately hugged Baldy happily and started kissing him passionately, oblivious to everyone around. I felt a little awkward standing next to them.

After saying goodbye to the crematorium girl, I asked Baldy to drive around the crematorium a few times and sprinkled some things on the road.

When it got dark, I pulled Baldy into the small forest next to it.

Baldy then asked me what exactly I was doing. He had been confused by me all day.

"If I told you that Sweetie isn't dead at all, would you believe it?"

"That's impossible. She was burned like that."

I didn't say anything more, just told him to wait. The crematorium girl would call him in a while.

Soon, a hearse drove into the crematorium. Five minutes later, Baldy's phone rang.

"That body has been sent over. They said it will be cremated tonight. What do I need to do now?" the crematorium girl asked on the phone.

"If you're brave enough, you don't need to do anything. Just continue working in your position. If you're timid, you can find an excuse to ask for leave and come out to meet us. We're in the small forest ahead."

"Wait for me, I'll be right there."

The crematorium girl didn't even ask for leave and ran out, abandoning her work.

At the same time, a faint shadow of a carriage appeared at the entrance of the crematorium.
