Half a Brick
Chapter 30 Battle
More importantly, behind me wasn't empty space, but a solid wall.
Then, I heard a crisp cracking sound. Fan Xingjian's punch cracked the thick brick wall. If that punch had landed on my nose, I probably would have been bleeding for three days and nights.
However, the cracking sound didn't come from the brick. Brick sounds are duller. That crisp crack could only have been a bone breaking.
That's right, Fan Xingjian not only missed me with his punch, but also slammed his fist directly into the wall, breaking his own hand.
That's the difference. He's not strong enough to fight me.
"Wan Qian, don't get cocky!" Fan Xingjian clutched his wrist, sweat beading on his forehead.
I waved him away. We were classmates, and I didn't need to make things difficult for him. He was just a pawn being used, not particularly good or bad. As long as he didn't block my path, I'd pretend I hadn't seen him.
But Fan Xingjian clearly didn't see it that way. He was fighting for his goddess. Although he didn't know why Bai Tingting wanted him to guard this abandoned villa, Bai Tingting had rarely given him an opportunity, rarely asked him to do something. How could he not do it well?
What could be more important than a woman's request? What was one hand? Before, Bai Tingting hadn't even spoken to him, and he would have broken a leg for her. Now, Bai Tingting was solemnly and trustingly entrusting him with something. He would give his life to stop me.
With that belief, how could Fan Xingjian retreat? Without a word, he swept his leg at me, aiming right for my groin. That's when I got angry. Was this kid trying to make me childless? Enough was enough!
I kicked him back, directly striking his shinbone.
His leg had been broken once a few years ago. Although it had healed, a broken bone was still broken. It could never be as strong as the original. With my kick, there was another louder cracking sound. Fan Xingjian's leg, the one he'd broken years ago while saving a damsel in distress, broke again.
"Fan, do you want to keep fighting? You're no match for me. I advise you not to waste your energy." I waved Fan Xingjian away again.
I was already giving him enough face. Both times, he'd used vicious moves, especially the second time, aiming directly for my vital area. I was letting him go, which I thought was benevolent enough, even a bit saintly. But some people were just asking for it, not appreciating the chance, not valuing their lives. He raised the big knife in his hand and slashed at me.
I sighed with some pity. This kid had brute strength, but his brain was probably smaller than a sesame seed. He had a weapon, but he insisted on using his fists and feet. Why didn't he just use the knife earlier? If he'd used the knife earlier, his hand and leg bones wouldn't have broken. If he'd used the knife earlier, wouldn't I have disarmed him and used it to cut him?
I'd practiced unarmed combat. One move, two moves, three moves, and I successfully got the knife from his hand. Then, I kicked him into the locust tree forest. Broken branches pierced his flesh, and Fan Xingjian cried out in pain again.
"Do you want me to cripple your other hand and foot too?" I brandished the knife in my hand, revealing a villainous grin.
As a classmate, I'd given him every opportunity. He didn't know how to cherish them. Now, even if he wanted to leave, I might not let him.
"No, no!" Fan Xingjian was truly scared this time. "I'll go, I'll go now!"
As he said that, Fan Xingjian struggled to escape towards the gate.
I threw the knife, planting it less than three inches from him. "Did I say you could leave? You used lethal moves, so viciously. Who knows if you're really leaving or pretending to? What if you suddenly jump out and attack me when I'm fighting something else inside? I ruined your chance to curry favor with Bai Tingting. How could you let me off so easily?"
"No, I wouldn't, I wouldn't."
"Do you think I'll believe you? Unless I completely remove your fighting ability, do you think I can enter this villa with peace of mind?"
Fan Xingjian was indeed a ruthless person. He gritted his teeth, suddenly leaned forward, and slammed himself against a tree, dislocating his hip.
"Now I have a broken leg and a dislocated hip. I can't even walk. Surely you can trust that I won't attack you."
"Alright."
I didn't make things difficult for Fan Xingjian anymore and stepped towards the house. Fan Xingjian really didn't have much fighting power now. If he wanted to wait outside, he could wait outside. If he wanted to leave, he could leave, as long as he didn't attack me again.
Thinking about it, this was quite amusing. I beat a classmate I barely knew half to death for a woman I'd only met once and talked to for one night. Was I crazy?
Of course not. Who I help depends on what they've done and which side they're on.
Bai Tingting hired people to kidnap Mo Li Hua, and Fan Xingjian was helping Bai Tingting guard Mo Li Hua. One was a kidnapper, and the other was a hostage. Who do you think I'll help? Also, why did Fan Xingjian use lethal moves when he fought me? Besides the fact that this kid was a reckless fighter, Bai Tingting had instructed him to kill me.
It didn't seem important whether someone who was trying to kill me used to be my classmate.
The temperature inside the room was seven or eight degrees lower than outside, cold and gloomy, and the light was very poor. I had to use a flashlight to move forward, and I could hear the squeaking of mice from the corners from time to time.
This villa was not small, with two floors above ground and one underground. It was not easy for one person to thoroughly search it, so I turned my attention to the little mice.
These squeaking little things could help me make paper figures and find living people.
I lit incense, chanted incantations, and burned a pile of paper money. The little mice immediately scurried towards different rooms. With the help of these little fellows, no matter what corner Mo Li Hua was hidden in, I could find her.
"You think you're very clever, don't you?" A cold female voice sounded from behind, and a strand of long black hair slowly crawled past my feet.
