Chapter 111: Chapter 111 True Island-Annihilation Class, the Final World-Shattering Strike
Raigō—an ultimate-level technique of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.
At the same time, it is one of the few island-erasing techniques among Logias.
Aside from the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, Karl knows of no other Logia that can reach Raigō’s level.
The Glint-Glint, Ice-Ice, Magma-Magma... those top-tier Logias can create vast explosions, freeze an island, or burn one to cinders and eventually destroy it.
But among the three Admirals, even the two who can permanently alter an island’s climate do not possess a single, one-shot, island-erasing ultimate technique.
Yet the Rumble-Rumble Fruit does.
Though it needs ultra-wide thunderclouds to unleash this island-class ultimate, that alone shows why the Rumble-Rumble Fruit is the strongest of the Logias.
Using the fruit’s power, Karl excited the thundercloud sea the two had created.
In only the time it took Kaido to regain his balance, he formed a black sphere shaped like ball lightning, packed with terrifying airflow and current, and let it bulge out of the thunderclouds veiling Wano and Onigashima.
Because the clouds born from their Conqueror’s clash and the light-versus-breath impact far exceeded the area Enel forged with the Ark Maxim,
Karl’s Raigō dwarfed Enel’s by orders of magnitude.
As the sphere surfaced from the clouds, it swelled like an inflating balloon.
Karl poured a colossal share of stamina converted to lightning into it without stint.
If you quantified it—
for every sliver of stamina Karl burned, Raigō’s power climbed a step.
So Kaido couldn’t react, flee, or climb to interrupt; Karl went further, using Life Return to convert stamina to lightning at light-spear charge-up speed.
In barely two minutes, Karl spent two-tenths of his total stamina.
For someone who has completed a second evolution, that two-tenths is immense.
Condensed into Lightning Spears, it could erase a small island.
In return, the already enormous sphere
ballooned several more rings of size in those two minutes.
Against Karl’s Raigō, Enel’s island-killer looked like a baby’s fist beside an adult’s.
"Senior Kaido—if you can tank this, I’ll call this match your win."
When Raigō reached its finished form, Karl didn’t care whether Kaido heard; he simply shouted down.
Then, like Son Goku hoisting a Spirit Bomb, he raised both hands beneath the black sphere and hurled it down with force.
In an instant it was as if an island were falling.
A vast shadow swallowed Kaido’s coils above the sea.
"Bolo Breath!"
Facing the sky-blotting mass, Kaido didn’t dodge. He gaped his jaws and launched a colossal pillar of fire at the lightning shadow.
He tried to shatter or pierce the sphere with that mountain-pulverizing, multi-kilometer lance.
But—
Karl’s Raigō was no hollow showpiece.
Kaido gravely underestimated the energy packed inside.
The fiery column speared up and tore open a mouth in the sphere the size of a small island,
then sank into it.
The image in Kaido’s mind—breath splitting and shattering the mass—never came.
Instead, his Observation saw the sphere bulge larger by a fraction.
As if it had devoured that power.
Exactly that.
The sphere swallowed Kaido’s breath.
Or rather, the breath was broken down by the sphere’s inner airflow, current, and heat, digested into wind and thermal energy, and turned to fuel.
Kaido’s gravest mistake was using heat against it.
The sphere’s skin wasn’t glass or metal.
Thundercloud.
The enormous black "sphere" was a globe of black cloud.
Unless you can annihilate the inner gale and current in an instant, no matter how wide the rip you make, the cloud will knit itself closed.
Any attack short of overwhelming Raigō in a heartbeat becomes its nourishment.
In theory, a growth-type ultimate with no upper limit.
And an island-erasing technique that reduces everything to dust.
With his breath unable to avail him and no time to flee, Kaido could only watch as the sphere, along with his hundreds-meter azure body,
crashed into the sea.
The titanic black sphere took minutes to submerge entirely.
When the surface smoothed, as if nothing had happened,
a never-before roar boomed up from the depths, racing as sound over Onigashima and Wano like a submarine volcano breaking open.
Then—
an unparalleled quake rolled out from the sea to both islands.
The shaking made them both reel.
Timber buildings collapsed in swathes; only the well-founded structures remained.
The quake went on for minutes.
Then—
everyone on Wano’s cliffs, Onigashima’s shores, or any high ground with a view of the sea
saw a stupendous ocean column, like Jaya’s Knock Up Stream, punch toward the heavens.
Even thousands of meters up, Karl watched the torrent swell in his eyes at frightening speed.
Without hesitation he blinked out of the column’s climb path.
Barely ten seconds later, the surge swallowed where he had been and kept rising.
Two minutes on,
unless you were indoors or sealed away, everyone on Wano and Onigashima could see a sky-piercing waterspout that joined sea to heaven.
No telling how many minutes later—
the monstrous column thinned, dwindled to a silver thread,
and, after a few more minutes, vanished completely.
