Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Fetal Movement
Quentin Shaw was very curious about what could make the usually composed Master Lancaster so emotionally turbulent, so he braced himself and stretched his neck to take a peek.
"The babies miss you too."
Turns out it was a message from Young Madam.
The next second.
"Let’s call it a day; you should leave work early and rest."
As the words fell.
Quentin Shaw chuckled.
In his mind, he thought, if something is unsolvable in the future, turning to Young Madam would do the trick; he needed to hold on to this powerful connection.
Elias Lancaster picked up his phone and walked out with long strides.
In the car, he kept staring at the message "The babies miss you too."
The corners of his lips couldn’t help but lift up.
The babies Serena Yeats referred to in the message were actually the twins in her belly.
Elias Lancaster included Serena Yeats herself in that group as well.
Serena Yeats was holding her phone, chatting with Nathan Sawyer.
Nathan Sawyer was complaining about Elias Lancaster being petty; after staying one night, he called her dad to have someone pick her up and take her home.
Serena Yeats also shared everything that had happened recently with Nathan Sawyer.
Nathan Sawyer immediately called.
As soon as Serena Yeats answered, she heard Nathan Sawyer’s shriek.
"Serena dear, do you mean you registered your marriage with Devil King Lancaster?"
"Yes."
After a moment of silence on the other end.
"Serena, don’t be afraid, just tell me, did Devil King Lancaster force you?"
Hearing Nathan Sawyer’s serious tone, Serena Yeats laughed.
"No, the uncle said he’d take responsibility, he’s really good to me, and please don’t call him Devil King Lancaster."
Serena Yeats instinctively defended Elias Lancaster.
Just as Elias Lancaster entered the house, he heard this, and chuckled softly.
His little girl was quite nice to him.
At three in the morning.
As Serena Yeats was sleeping, she suddenly woke up and sat up in bed.
"Serena, what’s the matter? Are you feeling unwell?" Elias Lancaster noticed the person beside him getting up and immediately became alert.
He looked at her nervously.
Serena Yeats rubbed her nose.
"Gurgle..."
A sound echoed in the quiet room.
She placed her hands on her stomach, softly saying, "Uncle, I’m...I’m hungry."
Elias Lancaster was momentarily stunned; at this time, the servants were all resting. He tapped her nose gently, "How about I cook some noodles for you?"
"Uncle, you should sleep; I can cook it myself, I’m actually pretty good at it!" Serena Yeats said.
"You’re in a special situation now, and the kitchen smoke is too much, you shouldn’t go in." Elias Lancaster directly rejected her idea.
Serena Yeats let out an ’oh’ and let him carry her downstairs to the dining room.
Elias Lancaster placed her on a chair in the dining room.
He walked over to the kitchen, began to boil water, fry an egg, and wash some greens.
Serena Yeats was curious about how someone like Elias Lancaster would look preparing food himself.
So, she quietly got up and sneaked to not far from the kitchen door, watching the man busy because she was hungry.
She had to admit, a man who can cook is really quite charming.
Seeing the man about to turn around, she quickly went back to her chair.
Elias Lancaster glanced behind him, saw a figure, and a smile appeared on his lips.
A moment later.
Elias Lancaster placed the cooked noodles in front of her.
Serena Yeats took a bite, her eyes widened, then filled with delight, as she ate the noodles, she gave Elias Lancaster a thumbs-up with her free hand.
So delicious!
It seems Elias Lancaster is indeed someone who knows how to cook.
Very soon, she was full, with half a bowl left, and she really couldn’t eat anymore.
Elias Lancaster looked at her satisfied expression and was amused.
He gently wiped her mouth with a tissue.
"Uncle, what you made is really delicious!"
"Then I’ll cook for you all the time; not eating anymore?" Elias Lancaster said with a smile.
"I’m full!" Serena Yeats’s clear eyes were filled with contentment.
"You just ate, sit for a bit."
With that, Elias Lancaster picked up the bowl Serena Yeats had eaten from and finished the rest.
Serena Yeats thought of something and blushed.
"Uncle, I’ll head upstairs first." Serena Yeats quickly got up and went upstairs.
Elias Lancaster looked at her retreating figure, then at the bowl and chopsticks in his hand, understanding that his little girl was too shy!
For several days in a row, Serena Yeats had been sleeping and eating every day without even stepping out of the villa.
She lay on the deck chair on the balcony, basking in the sun. Now that she no longer had morning sickness, she was able to eat and sleep, living too comfortably to the point of boredom.
She sighed, feeling like something was missing; except for eating and sleeping, it felt like she was being raised like a pig.
Her hand caressed her bulging belly, "Two little darlings, are you boys or girls?"
She thought for a moment, realizing they were still in her belly, how could they talk back to her?
The next second.
She felt a vibration under her hand and, astonished, lifted her shirt to look at her belly.
She tentatively said, "Hello, babies, I’m mommy."
The doctor had said that fetal movements would occur around four months.
Sure enough, a small bump appeared and retracted twice on her belly.
She happily took out her phone, videotaping while talking to the babies in her belly, who cooperated by moving.
She sent the video to Elias Lancaster: "Uncle, the babies moved!"
In the Lancaster Group’s conference room, everyone was taking turns reporting their work.
Suddenly.
They heard Elias Lancaster, at the head of the table, say.
"Meeting adjourned."
By the time everyone reacted, their President Lancaster had already left the conference room.
Everyone felt puzzled; normally, these meetings lasted all morning, but it wasn’t even 10:30, and it was already adjourned?
However, recalling the previous occurrences, they probably understood.
But no one dared to speak up, except Theodore Lynch, who laughed,
He straightened his clothes and gave Quentin Shaw a meaningful smile, "I’m off to flirt."
Quentin Shaw looked exasperated, quickly packed his things, and returned to his position; with President Lancaster gone, it meant he’d have to get busy.
Elias Lancaster drove himself straight home.
"Serena, did the babies move?"
Serena Yeats quickly looked up at Elias Lancaster.
He was walking toward her, with his long legs and deep, dark eyes fixed on her.
She could feel that he seemed a bit nervous now.
She smiled lightly with her lips slightly curled.
"Uncle, why are you back at this time?"
"I saw the video and came back to take you out for lunch."
Serena Yeats’s eyes lit up, and she quickly stood up, "The two babies are tired and are now sleeping."
"Then let’s go have lunch first." Elias Lancaster said gently.
"Can I have some spicy and sour vermicelli?"
