Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Blind Date Candidate?
"No way!"
Serena Yeats’s face fell instantly. She thought it might be better to eat at home.
But after thinking about it, she decided to eat out. It was a rare occasion for Elias Lancaster to take her out to dinner.
Elias Lancaster held Serena Yeats’s little hand and led her to the wardrobe.
"Wear this."
He chose a Korean-style dress and handed it to Serena Yeats.
Next, he opened a drawer and took out a pair of small diamond earrings for her to wear.
Before they left the house, he also picked out a pair of pink shoes for her, completing a very nice outfit.
Looking at a table full of bland dishes, Serena Yeats glanced at Elias Lancaster. She was no longer afraid of him at all.
The expectation she had when leaving the house was gone; the food on the table seemed tasteless.
"Uncle, I want to eat hot pot."
Elias Lancaster frowned slightly and instructed someone to clear the table and serve hot pot.
When Serena Yeats saw the hot pot’s broth, her mouth twitched.
It just didn’t look appetizing; eating hot pot with clear broth was like boiling vegetables in water.
Serena Yeats’s mood dropped considerably.
Elias Lancaster sent a message to the doctor. As soon as the doctor replied, he immediately instructed to serve a mildly spicy broth.
He also had them prepare mildly spicy sour and spicy noodles, crayfish, and milk tea.
Serena Yeats’s eyes narrowed happily as she watched the food being brought in.
Her mood soared.
Elias Lancaster was in charge of cooking the vegetables and meat, while Serena Yeats focused on eating.
Watching her eat like a little hamster, Elias Lancaster’s eyes were full of affection.
There were too many people today, and there were no private rooms available, so they had to sit at an inconspicuous spot in the corner of the main hall, yet still—
They attracted attention from many people: a handsome man and a petite, pretty woman.
The man was gentle and considerate, making Serena Yeats the object of envy among the women in the restaurant.
The woman was petite and charming, with delicate features, making Elias Lancaster the target of envy and jealousy among the men in the restaurant.
Especially when they looked into each other’s eyes, there were pink bubbles all around them, fully displaying their love.
But this beautiful moment was interrupted by someone.
"Elias."
A coquettish female voice rang out, and the way she called "Brother Elias" gave Serena Yeats goosebumps.
She put down her chopsticks and rubbed her arms.
"Cold?" Elias Lancaster directly ignored the person calling him and gently asked.
Serena Yeats shook her head, then looked at the woman standing opposite.
Her long wavy hair was loose, she wore a tight-fitting business suit with a pencil skirt, with a delicate makeup, and her figure was curvaceous and mature.
She frowned, not knowing why, but seeing this woman made her uncomfortable.
Elias Lancaster placed the cooked beef into Serena Yeats’s bowl.
"Hurry up and eat, or it’ll get cold."
He directly ignored the woman.
"Elias, what a coincidence that you’re also eating here. I love the hot pot here too. After the last blind date, my mom has been saying she wants to invite you over to our home for dinner."
The woman kept staring at Serena Yeats as she ate, eyeing her up and down.
"Got something to say?" Elias Lancaster’s face turned cold, frighteningly so.
Serena Yeats was stunned for a moment.
Blind date?
She glanced at the woman, then quickly lowered her head again.
It seemed they were quite a match, especially in terms of age. To be someone who could go on a blind date with Elias Lancaster, the family must be quite good, right?
Elias Lancaster sensed Serena Yeats’s mood.
"Do we know each other?" Elias Lancaster said coldly, glancing at the woman.
The woman was taken aback.
"Elias, it was Mrs. Lancaster herself who talked to my family about us! Who is she?" The woman provocatively eyed Serena Yeats, who had her head down.
Speculating on her identity, because there was only one girl in the Lancaster Family family branch in Aethelgard, who wasn’t even in the country now.
At that time, Old Madam Lancaster approached The Thorne Family, saying she fancied their young miss Dolae Thorne, wanting to set her up to see Elias Lancaster on a blind date.
"My wife," Elias Lancaster stated directly.
Both Serena Yeats and Dolae Thorne were stunned.
Serena Yeats never expected Elias Lancaster to openly acknowledge her as his wife, given her family’s disreputable background.
She didn’t even know who her biological parents were, and her adoptive parents were like that.
As for Dolae Thorne, it was because Old Madam Lancaster herself had mentioned the matchmaking half a year ago, how could it now be...
She must be trying to dismiss her; she didn’t believe that Elias Lancaster could fall for such a... clueless little girl.
"Elias, the last time you made an appointment with me, I didn’t stand you up on purpose. I had a very important collaboration to discuss, don’t hold it against me."
Saying this, she took two steps forward and stood beside Serena Yeats.
"Hello, little one, I’m Dolae Thorne."
Serena Yeats continued eating with her head down, looking up briefly.
Suddenly, a pungent smell wafted up her nose.
Then she was in trouble.
The smell irritated her stomach, and she gagged, quickly covering her mouth with her hand.
Elias Lancaster was startled and quickly put down his chopsticks, gently patting her back.
The waiter, not far away, brought over a trash can and placed it beside her.
"Ugh........"
Serena Yeats threw up everything she had eaten.
"Serena, what’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Elias Lancaster asked nervously.
"Her perfume smell is so bad." Serena Yeats, teary-eyed from vomiting, said to Elias Lancaster, aggrieved.
Elias Lancaster cast a cold glance at Dolae Thorne, his eyes like daggers, "Leave."
Dolae Thorne was furious at Serena Yeats’s words because she used the most famous body fragrance; how could it be bad?
Seeing Elias Lancaster’s eyes, she felt scared. "Elias, I have something to do, so I’ll leave first. I’ll come visit Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster another day."
With that, she turned and left, a vicious look on her face.
"Rinse your mouth." Elias Lancaster held a glass of water to her lips.
After Serena Yeats rinsed her mouth, she looked in the direction where Dolae Thorne had left.
She said her name was Dolae Thorne?
Old Madam Lancaster must have approved of her if she was chosen by Elias Lancaster’s family, right?
"What’s going on in that little head of yours? I don’t know her. The blind date was arranged by my family. I just went to sit for a bit and left. I don’t like her."
Elias Lancaster knew that Serena Yeats lacked a sense of security, so he clarified everything.
Serena Yeats watched as Elias Lancaster carefully picked out the fish bones from the fish, and she suddenly felt like crying.
No one had ever been this attentive to her, not finding her a bother and treating her so well.
"Serena, we are legally married, so in the future, if anyone dares to covet your husband, you should know how to fight back."
"Can I really?"
Elias Lancaster nodded.
"I like seeing you being fierce."
After this commotion, Serena Yeats couldn’t eat anymore.
Elias Lancaster paid the bill and took her to the office.
Seeing her fall asleep during her nap, he finally got up and left the lounge to attend a meeting.
Before four in the afternoon.
"Meeting adjourned!"
When everyone looked up, the CEO was already gone.
Everyone looked at each other, unable to make sense of the situation. It was the same in the morning and the afternoon.
What’s going on?
How did the meeting end just like that?
It ended before it even began?
