Chapter 39: Chapter 39: You Mean a Lot to Me
"Strawberry cake? Nanny Livingston is resting at this time, and the cake shops outside are closed too."
Recently, Serena Yeats wants to eat whatever she desires immediately, or she gets upset.
"I want to eat, and the babies want to eat too."
She acted a bit spoiled, and Elias Lancaster indulged her, naturally trying to get her whatever she wanted.
"Alright, I’ll make it happen."
Serena Yeats happily kissed his cheek, "Thank you, Elias."
Elias Lancaster teased, "Just thanking me like this won’t do."
Serena Yeats blushed, "I’ll thank you properly later."
"I’ll get you the strawberry cake."
He couldn’t keep looking at her, or there would be trouble.
He drove around the streets, but all the stores were closed, so he had to call for help.
"Jensen, do you know where I can find strawberry cake right now?"
Jensen Sterling, "..."
"Bro, do you know what time it is?"
"Forget it, asking you is pointless."
Next, he called Theodore Lynch.
"Where can I get strawberry cake?"
"At this hour, you’re looking for strawberry cake, oh... I get it, it’s for your wife, right? Pregnant women’s moods are like that."
"You’re babbling too much."
"Alright, wait a bit, I’ll have someone send it to you," Theodore Lynch said yawning.
After an hour of hassle, he finally got the strawberry cake, but when he returned to the room, Serena Yeats had fallen asleep.
Her breathing was even, her little face was rosy, looking very cute.
Looking at her sleeping face, Elias Lancaster shook his head with a smile, "Little girl, you really got me."
Gently planting a kiss on her forehead, he changed into his pajamas, pulled her into his arms, and fell into a deep sleep.
In the morning, Serena Yeats woke up in a warm embrace, and as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw that familiar handsome face, feeling happiness wash over her.
She noticed the dark circles under his eyes, and then the strawberry cake on the bedside table, realizing that because of her craving for strawberries at midnight, he must have run to many places to buy them, feeling a bit sorry.
She reached out to caress his cheek, planting a kiss on his lips, worried about waking him.
What she didn’t know was that the man had already woken up as soon as she awakened, but he just wanted to hold her, not get out of bed, nor go to work.
He just wanted to see what she wanted to do.
"Serena, flirting with me so early, I won’t be able to resist."
Serena Yeats didn’t shy away from his words but instead felt more tender, showering him with kisses.
"Elias, am I too demanding? Are you very tired?"
The man was taken aback by her sudden sadness.
"Why do you suddenly ask that?"
"Look, you’ve got dark circles, you haven’t rested well, you must be exhausted."
Listening to her concerned voice tinged with guilt made him feel both warm and heartbroken.
If it weren’t for him, she should be enjoying a carefree life at twenty.
"Not tired at all; since having you, I realized how lucky I am."
"That’s not true; I’m the luckiest one. Because of my presence, you can’t focus on work, and at night I can be demanding, wanting this and then that..."
Elias Lancaster directly kissed her lips, interrupting her unfinished sentence.
"Little girl, before meeting you, I found it difficult to sleep every night; sometimes I only slept an hour. After meeting you, I can sleep for five or six hours, even longer."
"I have a healing effect, haha..."
"So, meeting you is my luck; you’re very important to me, and please, never leave me."
"Elias, you’re very important to me too, very important."
The two of them snuggled in bed for half a day before getting up.
When it was time to leave, Elias Lancaster held Serena Yeats, reluctant to let go.
"I don’t want to go to work; I want to stay home with you."
Serena Yeats shook her head and then nodded.
"Elias, if you don’t leave, you’ll be late. You have to work hard, you need to support me and the two babies, supporting babies costs a lot."
Elias Lancaster extended his slender fingers, gently flicking her nose.
"Even without going to work, I can still support you all."
"How about I accompany you to work?"
"Sure, I’ll help you pack your things."
Serena Yeats thought that if she went to the company, she could hang out with Secretary Hughes, have someone to chat with, and have some snacks.
Thinking of this made her incredibly happy.
The two left the house slowly.
Seeing Serena Yeats wrapped in a thick coat, looking so adorable, he couldn’t help but laugh.
The driver waited outside for a while before seeing them come out.
Serena Yeats was heavier now, holding her belly with one hand and supporting her waist with the other, while Elias Lancaster carefully helped her into the car.
On the way, Elias Lancaster kept holding her hand, playing with it.
When they arrived at the company, he helped her remove the thick outer coat, as the company was warm and pregnant women are sensitive to heat.
Once the coat was off, her five-month belly was shockingly large; Serena Yeats was slender, and it seemed like the belly might break her waist.
Every day, she would wear a maternity belt to relieve some of the pressure on her waist.
The employees looked at Serena Yeats’s belly in astonishment, as it looked much bigger than expected during this short absence.
The company’s small chat groups exploded instantly.
[Is the boss’s wife’s belly ready for delivery?]
[Not so soon; it’s heard she’s almost six months pregnant now]
[She’s not even six months yet, but how come the belly...]
[To me, it doesn’t look like she’s less than six months; it looks ready to deliver.]
[Are there multiple babies inside?]
[You guys are right, there are twins inside the madam’s belly] Quentin Shaw’s message caused even more excitement in the group.
In the office, Serena Yeats was looking at her tablet for a while and felt bored.
"Elias, can I walk around the company?"
Elias Lancaster checked the time; he had a meeting to attend, so he thought it would be good for her to take a walk and not get bored.
"Sure, but don’t leave the company, it’s cold outside."
He nagged like an old man.
Serena Yeats nodded, "You better go."
Later.
She walked out of the president’s office and hadn’t reached the elevator yet when she bumped into someone she knew.
"Sister-in-law, you came to the company?"
"I was a bit bored, just taking a stroll; Elias went to a meeting, aren’t you attending it?" Serena Yeats felt a bit unnatural facing Theodore Lynch due to the temptation that day.
"This meeting is for the subsidiary’s report; I happen to have some matters to handle." Theodore Lynch smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, you’re bored, want me to take you around?"
"Are you available?" Serena Yeats asked.
"I am, sister-in-law, come with me; I’ll show you something fun." Theodore Lynch enthusiastically guided Serena Yeats, leading the way.
Eventually, they arrived at a small room on the rooftop.
Seeing the numerous stands and phones in front of her, along with an array of products on the table, she was momentarily stunned, "What are these?"
